    I like the little green bottle that you put the oil in at the end of the video. What is it called?

    • @NaturesDarling

      Geneca Woodard - that’s one of my decorative bottles (I embellished a mini liquor bottle with pigmented resin, cut glass pieces, large glass beads). Thanks for watching! 💚

    Love the video, esp the second filtering to rid of the fiber-like hairs. Question though, do I need to clean my dried rosehips before I add my oil?

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  2 роки тому +1

      @Work Smart - dried herbs are usually clean, but if yours aren’t clean, it’s best to use just a dry towel to wipe them - if you soak them in water, they won’t be dried completely and you’ll run the risk of having “things” growing in your oil. Thanks for watching!💚

    could i also use coconut oil? heard it was beneficial

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes, you could, but keep in mind that true / organic coconut oil hardens in temp below 76 °F or 24 °C. Thanks for watching!💚

    How do you dry the rose hips after picking?

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  3 роки тому +3

      Sue Smith - the whole rose hips take several days to dry, so depending on how quickly I need it, I use the dehydrator, oven on lowest setting and sometimes even sunlight. Thanks for watching!💚

    I’m confused, you said “don’t use a blender or food processor because of the prickly hairs will escape”
    Then used one? Did I misunderstand something? 🤔

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi, along with the text on the screen I was showing what NOT to do - I meant to put a red ❌ over that clip with the food processor). The plastic bag and the hammer is the correct way. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!💚

    Thank you for you great video. I have subscribed and will look at your video’s. So helpful. I am a BIG fan of making the true things we can make from all the ingredients of the Man Above. He gave us so much to work with. Its time we used it properly without ruining it. THANK YOU! 🌸❤️🌸

    So long time..keep it in crockpot for 9 days and night?

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  4 роки тому +3

      7-9 days. There are many ways to make infused oil, but I've found that low, constant heat (around 106 degrees) over a long period of time is the best way to extract all the good properties from herbs. I just unplug the crockpot when I have to leave the house. Thanks for watching! 💚

    What can I use instead of crockpot as I only have a rice cooker which can steam

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  3 роки тому +2

      Angela Frontin- if you have a lot of sunshine where u are, put the lid on the jar & put it in the sun (perhaps on a sunny window sill) for 2-4 weeks. If no sunshine, use the rice cooker (don’t close the lid) or a regular pot with water on very low heat for a few hours everyday - put a folded dishcloth or wash cloth in the bottom of the pot before u put the jar in - this is a buffer to protect the jar from breaking. Hope this is clear- thanks for watching! 💚

    How do u dry ur rose hips? Can we dry them naturally in sun

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  3 роки тому

      Jasmine Organics - yes, you can air dry them in the sun or in a dehydrator (in the sun you have to turn them regularly). If you can get fresh rose hips, that’s great!! There is also a link in the description box to purchase dried organic rose hips. Thanks for watching! 💚

      What machine did you use? it looks like a food processor but you say don’t use.

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  4 роки тому

      LESLIE HARRIS - I used a hammer - you may have missed the part where beneath the food processor I had bold text explaining: “*** do NOT use a food processor ...” - perhaps I should have put an X across it instead. Thanks for watching!💚

    I dont have crockpot:(

    • @NaturesDarling
      @NaturesDarling  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Itsomighty - I've seen others put the jar outdoors in the sun for 2-4 weeks. The downside to that is at nights the oil cools down - but it's still a great method to make herbal infused oil. Thanks for watching 💚
