If GM on the next refresh coming up could do a fully independent coilover front suspension without the torsion bars and bump this up to 500hp & 1200 ftlbs it would be the greatest truck made.
The thunderstorm is nice but volcanic red is still my favorite AT4 color. I was pretty close to getting one of these, was down to this and an F350 Platinum but those GM seats 😅
The AT4 is the best looking trim level for the GMCs in my opinion. It’s really a shame they don’t offer something like this on the SLE trim so you don’t have to buy essentially a loaded truck to get the appearance package. Anyways the 2020+ GM trucks are the best on the market for towing and handling. Review after review states this. The next redesign or refresh just needs to address a few things and they will be more than good. They need to bring back the 12 volt outlets. That was pretty dumb to omit that. They need to offer a gauge summary and show you what gear you’re in so people will shut up about it lol. I could probably think of a few more things but they are competitive right now in all things and leaders in a few things.
As a person that daily drives a 2024 Chevy 3500 DRW LTZ the only complain I have with GM is the 36 gallon tank.. wish a 52 gallon like ford and ram was available. also wish the Denali and Denali ultimate had that nardo grey exterior color available… I’m looking to get me another 3500 DRW and was looking at denalis and only have one grey color option.
Hey man love the channel. Do you have any insight on the god awful drivers side mirror shake? I just bought a 2025 Sierra 2500hd AT4X aev edition and it sucks the driver side mirrors shakes pretty bad just driving normal at highway speeds. Love to know your thoughts and maybe a solution. Thanks man.
GM trucks are the best towing trucks out there. I currently have a 22 GMC a 20 Ford and a 24 RAM all diesels. My employees all want to drive the GMC weather empty or towing our 18,000 work trailer. It’s laughable how people say Fords tow the best they have power but handle like crap. The GMs hold weight better, ride awesome and have more torque off the line. I would only buy GMs for now.
I’ve had both a 24 super duty and a 24 at4 hd. The Ford is technologically far beyond the GM with available features. GM doesn’t give you the extras like ford does. Better on the Ford: Better interior lights Ambient lighting Switch in the bed for bed lights Softer seats Subwoofer More customizable features (forscan) Weight scales Power up tailgate Camera and park sensors on the tailgate Selectable locker on rear 12v outlets everywhere Better sunroof Better on the GM: It drives better
Another vote for Ford they seem to be two steps ahead of the rest. JB does the best reviews of any of the car reviewers on youtube every detail is discussed impressive.
Recently checked out a 2025 AT4 3500 versus a 2024 RAM 3500 Laramie with an HO Cummins. Both were standard beds. Per the door sticker, the RAM had almost 600lbs more payload and the RAM interior was vastly more luxurious. (The AT4 interior is really cheap looking by comparison, imo.) The price was a wash. Yes, the tech on the GMC was a little nicer with the HUD and I thought the rumble embedded in the seat for alerts was neat. Some would criticize the AISIN for how long it stays in first, making the 2nd gear shift rough especially when lightly loaded, but RAM is about to release the 2025 with the 8 Speed ZF and solve that. The GMC is a nice truck but for my money, which I'm probably going to plunk down on a 25 RAM 3500, the RAM just looks, drives, and feels better. It's all opinion anyway.
@user-no5ce1bn1v I know it has an exhaust brake, but it doesn't work even 40f% of the Ram exhaust brake. I have a Ram, and I've always been a GMC guy, but the exhaust brake is weak, to say the least. I drive my buddies Denali, and he drives my Ram, and he's shocked at the difference. If GM can get that brake 80% of Ram trucks, I would buy one for sure. Example: Ram has a full and auto exhaust brake. If you have that in the full setting, all you have to do is take your foot off the gas pedal, and the exhaust brake engages immediately without braking and will slow you down. In the auto setting, you tap the brake at the desired speed you want coming down a grade, and it keeps you at that speed. I've used it with my travel trailer, which is 11k pound and my buddies' 14k GWVR dump trailer. It works phenomenal.
It's a nice truck, but the 12,100 gvw means I can't tow my 14,000 pound gvw trailer without a cdl. That's a deal breaker for me, and I'm not alone in that.
@@bigmurph1447 I do haul for work sometimes. Not usually a big deal, but in our area some police watch for anyone close to the 26,000 limit and pull you over to check. My trailer gvwr is 14,000 pounds. 12,100 for the truck puts me at 26,100. That extra 100 pounds without a cdl is no longer just a ticket. It's a misdemeanor. That's a non-starter for me.
You can d rate your trailer at the dmv and rate it to 13850 so your combined GVWR for truck and trailer is under 26k. And don’t need a cdl. But yea I feel you idk why GM doesn’t offer a 10k gvwr 2500 like ram does.
It never was the best ever. The GM hd’s are built for executives. Farmers and ranchers don’t buy them because the truck doesn’t hold up to work conditions. Not bashing the power train at all because I like it but the truck itself is fragile.
No body will beat that truck ..😮😮 with ferds yelling about the bud trucks and that's where their trucks are coming from! !😮 gm rules the truck world GM trucks period. 😅😅😊

Agree this is a good trim. A little luxury and a little off road and a decent appearance package.
“Decent”? AT4s are beautiful. I guess appearances are totally opinionated though.
I think the kalahari color scheme is atrocious. The rest of it is great though.

Did anyone else see the one going by on the flat bed 😂
Excellent color. Would still save some cash and go Trail Boss.
I love my 2024 AT4

Ram actually has GMC beat in towing capacity especially the new model diesels.
Nice truck. JB can you do a review on a FULLY LOADED Ultimate Denali 3500. Thanks

Better on the Ford:
Better interior lights
Ambient lighting
Switch in the bed for bed lights
Softer seats
Subwoofer
More customizable features (forscan)
Weight scales
Power up tailgate
Camera and park sensors on the tailgate
Selectable locker on rear
12v outlets everywhere
Better sunroof
Better on the GM:
It drives better
The running boards are different unless that was a buyer upgrade.
Awesome 👌

Had a 2022 Ram 3500 and everything on it was garbage. Sold it for a loss. Ram is way behind on so many features it isn't even close.
Enjoy your Mexican made truck
If they could make a Duramax with the exhaust brake of the Cummins, I would buy one.
It has an exhaust brake, go to 10:36 on the video. Not sure if you think it doesn't have one or if it simply isn't as good as the Ram.

Big miss by GMC on putting the trailer brake controller there. I love the gmc exterior but the layout of the Chevy interior more.
Truck is super nice, however I wouldn’t buy dmax over a powerstroke. Not just because of power but mainly the design.
Why don't you ever drive the vehicles?
It's a nice truck, but the 12,100 gvw means I can't tow my 14,000 pound gvw trailer without a cdl. That's a deal breaker for me, and I'm not alone in that.
How u need a cdl? Ur not hauling commercial

General Motors seats are not that comfortable and it has to much cab noise

For me personally- No its way behind fords ability to tow heavy. 2. the plastic fenders 3 its steel, will never last the northwest winters.
4. And the storage compartment under the seat doesn't fold down. 5. Wax frame.
Yeah but all this doesn’t matter because it doesn’t make people puke when they look at it like the ford.
@@LAXERJK lol
I had to watch a kamala Harris commerical before this video, WTF 😢
I hate the color and the interior design. Rather have a High Country.
Personally that truck is just plain old ugly but I’m bias to superduty
Ironic calling this ugly when you have a super duty lol
That was a joke right? 😂
Ford all the way 👎🏻 to gm trucks!!
Payload is sucks
