Iran: "We screwed up one of America's boats!" Japan: "No, No, No, Don't Do that, you'll just make them mad. We did that to them once, and they dropped the Sun on us....Twice."
The Fat Electrician is both hilarious and educational. This is how history SHOULD be taught in school, I certainly would've paid more attention in class if it was.
Nah...this shit would never get past the far left that controls education...Fat Electrician likes the USA, and nobody who likes the USA is allowed to teach US kids nowadays.
Nick is the best casual story teller on UA-cam. He does have a script , but you can tell he basically uses it for notes and just ad-libs his entire story. This is the guy you want telling war stories.
If you have seen the podcast Unsubscribe he actually has admitted many times that he has no script. He has notes but no script. It's the one where they have their editor on.
TFE is 10/10 storytelling. Every story is great and informative. Specifically Cassius Marcellus Clay, Sgt Reckless, The Last Warchief, Jake "McNasty" McNiece.
Just a little note for anyone interested. The ship seen at 15:26 with the "proportional" text over it is not some generac "insert war footage" It is actually Sahand after we got done dropping heat on it.. It got hit with two Harpoon missiles, four AGM-123's, apair of Rockeye cluster bombs, and then a single Harpoon from the destroyer USS Joseph Strauss to finish it off.
'There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.' - Vladimir Ilyich Lenin probably how your cousin was feeling about that time...glad he an the rest of his crewmates were ok, and made it back.
Your cousin is in fact a bad mother fucker my friend! Takes some serious resolve and sand and definitely having all of your shit very much together to have pulled off what he and his crew did ! Thank him some time for me for his service if you would please. 🍻
Nick and everything on his channel is fantastic. This one has been making the rounds lately as it seems everyone is finally finding his stuff, but am looking forward to your take on it. Thoroughly enjoyable reaction. All of his videos are like this, he's really turning into a proper historian. Frankly, pick any one that sounds interesting to you. Yes, it's all military or geo-politics, and a complete blast. Quack-bang, out.
He’s actually currently going to college for history as he wants to rewrite the history books to include these significant events that have always been left out.
Operation Paul Bunion World War Tree. It is an awesome one. Jake McNasty McNiece, is really good. And Cassius Clay, the most gangster politician, is worth watching. And Bat Bomb more terrifying than the atomic bomb, is a crazy story. He doesn't have a bad video on his channel.
The Fat Electrician is one of the best channels on UA-cam! So happy to see you react to one of his videos! Literally anything by him is absolute gold, and incredibly well researched and informative. And yes, it's all military history, and he's going to be a history teacher so yeah, this is his jam.
Dude, he is AWESOME! And unlike a lot of guys who don't like reactions, he LOVES them. I've watched all of his videos, from his early days where he had short tik tok like videos describing different military roles, to the longer story telling ones. Watch them all and react to them, I'll rewatch them again with you.
I absolutely love The Fat Electeician. He puts a very fun spin on history. I have so many suggestions. I need to consider carefully to only make one. Edit Berlin Airlift. If you search that with his name it'll be the first result
I tripped over this very vid a few months ago, and fell in love with his content right away. Funny as hell, and damned great storytelling. Three more IMMEDIATE recommendations..... 'The Most Ganster Marine of All Time: Dan Daly' 'America Dismantles Pirate Nations for Touching Their Boats' 'Angry Old Veteran vs 700 Redcoats: Samuel Whitmore'
I've watched every single one of his videos, and they're all fantastic. My favorite one is about the Eager Beavers and Old 666, a legendary bomber crew from WW2
Nick is amazing, He’s very passionate about history and is also going to college for history. He does very detailed historical stories and also has a vast amount of knowledge on military history
I highly recommend his vids on the Berlin Wall and the Berlin Airlift. My personal favorites are "America Dismantles Pirate Nations For Touching Their Boats" and "Angry Old Veteran vs. 700 Redcoats". He also did vids on the US Mail's "Mailcat" mail truck, Liquid Death water company, and Aldi stores. I'm so glad you found Nic and I'm excited for you to go down this rabbit hole with us.
Nick is an awesome guy. You will love his content. He covers alot if Military history and has some good short form stuff. Where the phrase, Its never a War Crime the first time was keyed.
I believe The Fat Electrician is a former army combat medic. He's real focused on military history and is excellent at giving us information that most people never know about.
He is an excellent story-teller. My favorite is Samuel Whitmore. Angry Old Veteran vs 700 redcoats. The next 2 are Dehavelin Dh-98 Mosquito and That Time America Stole a German Uboat and stuck it in Chicago.
What absolutely blows my mind is how quickly they were able to fix the Roberts. Even smaller ships like that are absolutely MASSIVE, and not only did they replace the damaged hull but they even replaced the entire engine block (and you can imagine just how much detail has to go into that, not just for the engine itself but everything necessary for it to work properly). And it's not like we're talking LEGOs here - slotting in a new section of a ship requires an absurd amount of precision so that everything works properly (including preventing underwater drag). That they were able to do this in the span of one year absolutely blows my mind.
I've been watching your channel for over 2 years, my fave reactions are always the non-music reactions. I can just tell you are interested. Please more.
Cassius Clay, sgt reckless, and the Limping Lady are my current top 3. Also love the babary pirates one. All are great. And do enough and the man himself will show up and give his blessings to do more reactions.
By the way, those pilots were trained at a Naval base in Corpus Christi, Tx. The hotel I worked in at the time fed the Iranian pilots every Sunday. That was in 1979-1981
The tanker escort mission was called Operation Earnest Will. When we would enter or leave the gulf through the Straits of Hormuz, Iran would light us up with their Silkworm missile radars. I was an Electronics Warfare Technician 2nd Class on the USS Merrill (DD-976), SAG B, during this engagement. The night before, our Captain told us to gfet some sleep. We were going to general quarters at 0730. At 0800 our SAG would destroy the Sassan Oil Platform, SAG C would take out the Sirri oil platform, and SAG D would take our a frigate. We went to GQ at 0730. We radioed the platform at 0745, stasting "You have 15 minutes to evacuate the platform." then stated it in Farsi, then English, then Farsi, finally saying, "Have A Nice Day." (we had a CT onboard that spoke Farsi) We then gave them a 10 minute warning, then a 5-minute warning. At 0800 we radioed, "Has everyong left the platform, we are prepared to open fire," to which the platform responded, "We are not leaving." So, we were like, "OK" and started firing at the platform with our 5-inch guns. We had fired 2 rounds when they started shooting back with their 22-mm chain gun. Our Fire Controlman adjusted fire and took him out with ONE shot (yes, he was THAT good). Then he readjusted fire and continued with the anti-personnel air bursts (we were trying NOT to hit a toxic tank on the platform. We were supposed to trade off with the Lynde B. McCormick but her gun had dropped sync and was "walking" and they couldn't fix it in time. We wound up doing all the shooting on the Sassan oil platform. The Soviet Udaloy destroyer was collecting intel. We were steaming next to her for a couple of days. I had to do a weapons and radar fit on her. We knew they were there. We had a joke after the engagement: How does the Ayatollah inspect his fleet?... Glass Bottom Boat. A few details wrong, but it doesn't detract from the story and NO ONE gets ALL the details right. It all depending on who you are talking to. I love Nic's presentation. I've seen most of his videos and they are awesome.
The fast attack ship saying "we're just following orders" makes me sad every time I hear it. Like they didn't want to, but they had to or face the music.
The fact they cracked out the enterprise for backup tells you they were serious. That ship cost 450 million USD to make in 1958. Adjusted for inflation that would make it now worth almost 5 billion USD.
All of his videos and his evidence of the research he does is almost equal to his story telling ability. He has a plethora of videos that are just as intriguing as he is. You need to see them. I would have loved to have him as a history teacher.
just a bit of a poke lol. did anyone else start watching this reaction well being distracted and hear the voice and think " james t kirk"!! lol love it.
TFE is so good at telling stories to people. I really love this guy. I loved your reaction to him too ! Thank you sir. ❤oh btw I would love for you to react to him more.
Fat Electrician is probably the best storyteller on military history. I remember his stories forever, but can't remember anything from my history classes. My favorite is a short about the USS Texas gangster leaning to get longer range. It's a 5 minute vid from tiktok that is on UA-cam, but well worth it
Welcome... to the history teacher we all wish we had. Nick is presently in college to get the necessary degrees to teach history at the high school level. When he gets done, I fully expect any aware hs principle to want him. Some of his stories are... well... insane. The Bat Bomb, for example.
It's a ship. I was indirectly involved in Preying Mantis from the states. I wish I could have been there in person. No, Preying Mantis, was NOT an accident. BTW - there is proportional and there is proportional. This proportional was a bit more proportional than theplanners intended.

MORE Fat Electrician!
I've watched a dozen people react to this video and "It's never a war crime the first time" still makes me chuckle.

World War Tree.
@@brigidtheirishAnd no, that’s NOT a typo. They literally meant “World War TREE”.
Old 666 and the Eager Beavers
Ah yes " proportional" " potential" & " appropriate " three great stories
Dan Daly is the best hands down.
“It’s never a war crime the first time” is a HILARIOUS statement.
