Cobra take off is perfect in strong wind and you explained it perfectly. The only problem with this technique is the kind of terrain we have available at take off. If it's a golf like grass no problem, but if its rocky or dirty/uneven then the risk of scratching the fabrique or lines could be high.

Does this work best with trims in or out? All the way in/out or somewhere in the middle? I've been flying PPG for about a year and a half. But Normally in low to mid-wind range. I just moved to the Caribbean and the winds are much stronger here. Any explanation would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hey Greg! Wohoo that sounds awesome 🌴 👌 Actually depends on your wing and how strong are the conditions but I normally do it without extra trims.. so basically neutral most of the time 🔥
Hey, this is really relevant for me. I have a single skin wing which is extremely difficult to manage on the ground in that phase between getting it out of the bag and building a wall to reverse launch. Ground handling the wing is dead easy once its's pulled up. I'd been thinking that I should learn the cobra launch to deal with the phase when the wing is on the ground. If you've got more tricks up your sleeve for this launch, I'd love to see them. Can't fly, so might as well watch and learn! Thanks! ;-)

As long as you keep wing in wind window - low power zone - there is almost no drag. You can see in one of my previous videos "wind map" exactly how wind works :) Check it out 🤙
