In the armature, I cut off the bottom, bearing then play wackamole until the 2 pieces in the middle break apart, then use bolt cutters on the rest or some heat to melt off the glue they put on the copper sometimes. Great videos. I love to watch them. Thank you for sharing. Alot of extra knowledge into what I just tossed out because I couldn't figure it out. God bless.
Nice breakdown buddy and thank you so much for the shoutout. Don’t tell my Amish brothers, but I use the angle grinder and cut off one side of the steel on the armature. I have a video on it, but I don’t recall how much weight in copper there is.
Never taken an alternator apart before. You made it look quite easy. I need to get a big metal plate with holes in for my bench. Much easier than what I do, using the vice
They are real easy if it wasn’t for the camera I can do one every 6 minutes and that including the armature The plate was off of a countertop drill press
I just watched a video...i wish I could remember who it was... where they just pressed the shaft out of the armature with a 20 ton press and the rest was easy! Been wanting to do it myself, but don't get many alternators. Good video! Hope you have a Merry Christmas! 🎁🎅
I have 50 or so more of these stators and I think I’ll send them as is , the real money in the alternator is the armature I found a very easy way to do them
So is that the thing in my short that you told me what it was that part idk if you remember or not buddy or is that different my friend? Copper copper copper! Haha ninja lol. Another great video my friend!!
No the torque converter goes in the transmission inside of that is a bunch of steal blades that are designed to transfer transmission fluid at certain rpm’s
The shaft in the centre part taps out easily use your deep creep. The 2 halves should fall apart or just hit with you hammer to reveal the copper wire coil.
The center shaft presses out .I've cleaned hundreds of them . Some will hammer apart easy . If you don't have a press for the difficult ones a little heat will help
They take 6 minutes each, takes longer on video because of teaching people with a narrow mindset, $11 each x 10 per hour thats $110 per hour, whenever you want to come mow my lawn come over

Always great getting another point of view

@@nicejunk666 I need my wagon 😂
I like the new nickname btw lol
Yes you do need it!
I’m horrible for giving people new identities
@@nicejunk666 gotta run my scrap to the yard with my horses and wagon lol
At least they are nice nicknames lol
@scrapitall200 oh it’s a 2 horsepower unit fancy
Some people are nicknames and for others they are derogatory terms of endearment lol

Oh that's cool. I found the copper winding on it's own and didn't know what it was from. I think I already cut the copper out of it.
They are very bizarre looking
That's awesome. I have two to do. Thanks for the tutorial.
Your very welcome get at it

Merry Christmas Roger! I just did a video a couple weeks ago taking that very same armature apart with my 12 ton press
@@nicejunk666 That may have been the one I saw. It's bad when you get old and senile! 😂👍 I've been binge watching so much UA-cam lately!! 🫨
@cuscrapping lmao I know what your saying there Roger
Scrapitall just did one on a alternator and he shows what he did to get the copper out of the armature...some may want to hit the link to watch it
Oh I did see it was pretty cool
This is one thing I stopped stripping years ago.
I take the 80c ish a pound n move on.
Or u can sell it for rebuild at a part shop.

That was a great video. I always wondered about taking them apart. I get $0.40/lb as is. Will be looking forward to the video on the stators
It is scheduled for Saturday at 10 am mst. Thank you for watching
Great video
Thanks mark
Awesome man.. Some r easier than others to scrap. I think it's worth it.. and if ur having fun.. it's not work. Great stuff
Exactly my man and now I figured out the rotor armatures it doubles the money that video is coming out Saturday

Thank you I experimented on the weekend and discovered just that it worked pretty slick
Great teardown! I've always wondered what the inside of an alternator looks like. Oh, and 96% of your viewers aren't subscribed to your channel too? 😀
Haha it’s frustrating why that can’t just hit that button, thanks for stopping by
Find a core buyer.
Thanks for the suggestion
Did you make at least $20 out of it? I wonder if it is worthy. Might as well mow a lawn for a neighbor for $40.

@@nicejunk666 , pls don't take the jobs from people, who are desperate to widen their mindset by pulling copper shreds from armature 😀
lol you got that job cornered, I just put out another video in case your bored with his one. I’m sure you will hate it
Great video
Thank you my friend
