You're probably the most polite trainer out there. I started learning CAD about a week ago, grasping concept of layers troubled me. Very well explained. Thanks
@@JoeRobinsonTraining I'm actually having trouble when I insert a block in model space. The scale is totally off from the drawing I insert it into and i'm trying to learn how to make sure both are in the same scale. The block I inset is showing up way larger.
Great question, I can't really put it better than this answer from a forum: "If you turn off layer 0 in the local drawing all of the attached Xref's layer 0 are also affected, It doesn't matter if it's a local file or an attached Xref, Layer 0 is the same layer. The same thing applies to the DefPoints Layer. If you are going to use a drawing as an Xref you will want to have everything off of layer 0." Hope that makes sense. 😊
Hi Joe, thank you for the video! Do you know how I can get this layout/view on auto cad 2017 for Mac? In school I learned how to use cad on Windows but my problem was coming home and not being able to practice what I had learned because Cad looked different on Mac :/

My pleasure, glad the videos are helping. 👍
Thanks for the video
thanks its very helpful
Is it podssible to post a demo on a Autocad 2017 in 2016?
The software normally runs a year ahead.
Can you do a video on scaling?
Might be able to, do you mean as in making objects in model space larger and smaller? Or scaling in paper space?

Hi! Why is it not ideal practice to use layer 0? Thanks!

is it just me or your voice really sounds like benedict pengwing cumberbatch?
very useful video tho, thank you!
Done sir.
When I start drawing there is no “dimension symbol near of A test “how did you open it
My document starts with hundreds of layers that I cannot delete. Could you tell me why that is?
thankz
At 13:12, I didn't see a hidden line. How did it get there?
And what is the purpose of it if it cannot be seen?
Hi, I think I was just using the hidden line as an example of how switching layers can change the linetype. I hope this answers your question.
