Hit Man: Richard Linklater's latest "inspired by a true story" film | Movie Review
Hit Man is a film directed by Richard Linklater that is loosely based on the true-life story of Gary Johnson, a fake hitman. It stars Glen Powell, Adria Arjona and will be on the big screen for about a week before it comes to Netflix on June 7th.

Richard Linklater is one of my favorite directors ever, so I'm excited for this! But, the trailers didn't do much for me. I'll definitely temper my expectations. Great review Cyn!
If it’s a Netflix movie majority of the time I usually skip it because to me they have a history of mediocre movies. These seems to be maybe a step above mediocre but, still nothing that great.
Had no idea this movie was based on a true story and been hearing some really glowing review for this movie but sounds like its a good movie that you can check out but nothing that will be top 5 movies of the year especially since you would say its 3.5 another great review Cyn

For the life that of me - don’t understand whats special about this movie. Fall Guy was good. This is a poorly told story about a girl with psychological issues manipulating a guy with also some serious issues through basically sex and acting as a damsel. Is it comedy? Romance? Thriller?
It is deeply unhealthy relationship masquerading as a cute dark comedy love failing since nothing is funny in the movie. “You” and “Imposters” already did it and did it wayyyyy better.
Cmn Linklater i used to love ur work! She is actually good, Glen has basically 2 face expressions the whole movie and they are the same he had in the movie with Sweeny.
You touched on what I was trying to describe in my review - the odd mixture of different tones (and disturbing material, underneath all of it) was difficult NOT to notice. That's why I'm not as in love with this film as many other reviewers seem to be.
Sometimes I wonder when critics give movies really great reviews, how many movies have they actually seen? For me this one looked like a good time but nothing amazing personally. I will check it out when it releases but in the meantime another great review as always :-)
That's pretty much how I felt about it - a good time but nothing amazing. It surprised me to see how astronomical the reviews were for this. I think that, while most audiences will enjoy it, they probably won't to the same level that most critics seemed to. Thanks for watching, Mike!
This movie has been the buzz from these film festivals so it's somewhat of a positive because it's something different than the usual superhero movie.
It's definitely different from that!
