Love this song.. I remember my grandmother had an 85' or 86' Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera.. on top of that my Aunt currently lives in the town of Oldsmar, FL that was founded by R.E. Olds who bought the land in 1916... It's more than the luxury ride it's the feeling of pride that you feel insiiiidddee 😁
My neighbor used to have a Dark Teal Blue Metallic 1986 Custom Cruiser back in the day & I used to LOVE listening to this song on the demonstration tape that came with it!!!!!
Mom had a custom built 1979 Toronado from Bill McDavid Oldsmobile (Houston, Texas) God! That was a great driving car! Silver with a blue velour seats. Only one like it in Houston. A/C bLaSt you, heater cooked you. 8 track tape deck and power antenna + everything. $11K Eldorado was $4-6K more.
I have owned & driven Oldsmobiles since 1961....88s, 98s, 442s, Omegas, Cutlasses, F85s, a Toronado & now an Aurora. All great cars. When GM dropped Olds, it meant to me that GM had lost its mind!!!!!!
I wonder what kinds of vehicles Oldsmobile would be making today if the division hadn't been closed. A rebadged Malibu or Equinox? Or something cool and special? A retro styled Cutlass Supreme or Cutlass Ciera would be nice, but everyone wants crossovers and SUVs now.
I predict once EVERYONE has an SUV we will go back to sedans because they will be different. I would love to see the return of the 2 door personal luxury car... so American, and so very different than anything else on the road today!
@@paulzgarage5675 Yes, a two door personal luxury car with a bench seat and column shift automatic, whitewall tires and wire wheel covers! But with modern reliability, safety and technology.
Probably a squared-up Malibu with the 70s split grill and a transverse v6 or a v8 shoehorned in there. There might even be an electric "Cutlass Supreme" variant build on the same body to compete directly with the model s. There might also be the Blazer EV/Lyric spinoff, but instead of being built for economy/luxury, it might be either off-road or "performance" oriented...
@@paulzgarage5675 I love a lot of these older GM cars because of how nice the interiors are/were. Something that today's cars seem to have lost (at least on your average sedan).

Yes that is correct! I remember this as a child when my dad bought an Oldsmobile car and I played it over and over again and had the song memorized. So glad to see this on UA-cam. What memories!

The 90 Cutlass Calais handled curves on dirt roads better than that thing, or pavemnt. That thing shook around at high speeds, the Calais didn't. That Troffeo' was garbage. Even though it was pretty similar to the Calais!

Loved the Oldsmobile complimentary tape that came in my moms 86 Olds, Cyndi Lauper Time After Time came on next.

In the 80's, each of the GM Divisions had catchy jingles.. I think Oldsmobiles was the best!

Oldsmobiles were under appreciated in that era, if you ask me!
I miss Oldsmobile! Owned several and never had a problem. My Dad owned several Cadillacs and they were problematic it seems.

I hate these crossovers. I bought a VW Jetta last year, the first foreign car I ever owned. I love it!

I love all the themes that the divisions had from the 80's... Pontiac, Chevy, Cadillac and Buick all had great theme songs.
