- Getting ready to say goodbye to my 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Brougham.
I still have the demo tape that came with the car when my parents bought it in 1985.
I actually remember the salesman putting the tape into the stereo before we drove the car out of the showroom door.
"There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile.
There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile.
Born in the luxury ride.
Its a feeling of pride that you feel inside.
There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile.
There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile.
There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile.
Born in the luxury ride.
Its a feeling of pride that you feel inside.
There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile.
There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile."
Sad this car had to go to the junk yard after it rusted out and broke down it was a great car.
NOOO WAAYYY....Been searching for this song for 10 years...lol. I remember when I was a kid my parents bought a 1986 cutlas cierra which later would become my 1st car but, when we hopped into the car at the dealership and was waiting on my dad to get into the car for the 1st time...my mother popped this tape into the dash and turned it wayyy up...it was so fitting for the situation that we laughed hysterically for an hour and replayed it 100 times laughing everytime....such a great memory.
The original commercials with this Jingle are abundant here on UA-cam.
This is freeway cruising music! 🎶
I’m so sorry for your loss.😢
I would consider your car to be blessed by playing this song coming from a fellow OLDSMOBILE MAN peace and much respect to you 👍 JASON
Im 17 and i just bought my first car, a 93 cutlass ciera 3.1 Multiport Fl, it was leftout 5 years in a yard with some other cars that didnt work yet, the past owner didnt have any money to fix it, it had bourned almoast every electric peaces, bought it at 300 bucks and bought all of its pieces and just starded running this april 19th (: it runs like HELL! and its an awesome car!! and im still fixing it, put all the pieces myself ;) you just have to fix it! dont let it go!
I miss the 1980's 😃
Me too! We bought a Delta 88 in 1986, and we loved that tape! My husband just doesn't understand this. But you do!
i am sooooo happy mine is still alive and well! I love my olds Eighty Eight, just put new tires on and switched to the alloy rims(factory)
I love this, I haven't heard this song for decades, and im 33. My first ride was a 92 cutlass supreme. I only had it for a few weeks.
What happened too it lol
Thats so hillarious.. parents bought an 85 Olds and had that tape too.. brings back alot of memories..
there truly is
My aunt had an 87 Ciera GT that came with a demo tape with this song on it. In later years I managed to score a copy of this same demo tape at a thrift store.
I have owned a 1980 Olds Cutlass LS since 1988--my grandparents' last new car and one of my first ones. Took me through high school and college and I still have it.
I love this song, thanks for sharing!
Tim Allen was in a 1984 ad with this song! Smile and say cutlass!
i want that tape when i get an olds!
I wonder if my aunt had that song when she bought her 1983 Cutlass Supreme
It was a 1984/85 promotion
OMG! So many good memories tied to this silly song.
I LOVED THAT TAPE! THANKS FOR POSTING!!!!!
I used to love that tape
So cool. Was this all there was on these Oldsmobile cassettes by chance?
hmm. my 95 grand am gt has the same radio. except for the silver bits. had no idea GM used the same radio for so long
Play that funky music White Boy!!!!
*snapping fingers*
@canadiandude420 - Which Olds wagon? There were three in 1986.
There was the Firenza Cruiser, the Cutlass Cruiser (based on the Cutlass Ciera) and the Custom Cruiser, which was originally based on the Delta 88, which was redesigned for 1985, but the wagon kept that body style until 1990.
My club, the GM Skywagon Club, honors the 1991-92 Custom Cruiser as a true Skywagon.
My grandma had an '86 Toronado that came with the demo tape with this jingle on it. The song right after it would be "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson. I do remember that it was all from artists of CBS Records (now Sony Music)
an oldsmobile cant die!, it would be very hard even for a rod to pop out! 90% impossible! and its a very strong car! so as the same with the 93 buick century, 93 chevrolet cavalier and chevrolet celebrity
The lyrics actually go, "More than the luxury ride"...
I also have that tape, which rarely gets played. I think it's the best Olds jingle since "In My Merry Oldsmobile".
Yes, it's sad that your Olds had to go to the junkyard - I'm restoring the third '69 Vista Cruiser (the same year that Eric had on "That '70s Show") that I've owned since 1982. I've also had a '59 Ninety-Eight Holiday SportSedan and a 1980 Cutlass Supreme coupe.
"...More than a luxury ride, it's the feeling of pride that you feel inside!..."
thanks for posting brings back great memories.
LOVE IT AND LOVE OLDSMOBILE!!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR JINGLE!!!!!
Love Oldsmobile and this jingle
did anybody else get a tear in their eye when they had to send their olds to the scrapyard cause it would not run anymore?

Yes. It Comes With a Tape.
can you like send it the the cassette/vinal/8track re recorder, and get an MP3 of this?
I wish all new car stereos came with demo tapes. I think the JBL sound systems in Toyotas did come with demo CDs (in 2004, I believe) telling you how to use your radio. Can someone please give me the manufacturers that included demo tapes and CDs with new cars, or still do? Thanks!
Wasnt the next song "Africa" by Toto?? I wish i could remember all the songs they were pop songs of the day..
yes i had a 1985 oldsmobile delta 88 royal brougham luxery sedan killed me inside to scrap
the engine blew, and i didnt have the money
and it was the best damn car i ever owned
i still regret getting rid of it every morning
The car forgives you.
Love this!! Thank you!!!
no because my olds won't die
1rst time my car started i drove it everywhere, sometimes driffting in corners x) lifted it to 120 mph from one block to the end of the third one
I still have the demo tapes from my dads 1982 delta 88 and my grandparents 1983 delta 88. My dad traded his in 1989 on a suburban. My grandparents traded theirs in 1991 on a Ford Taurus. These tapes don't have the jingle.

Didn't all the car manufacturers issue audio tapes for their cars in the '80s and early '90s? Cool as shit anyway, though. Thanks for posting.
Nope, It was Time After Time by "Cyndi Lauper"
Time After Time by Inoj (Cover R&B version), is also used on Southeast Asian 2007 Toyota Vios commercial (2007 Toyota Yaris Sedan). Inoj’s Time After Time is better than Cindy Lauper’s..
Who sings this song do you no?
Lisa Chaisson Gary Klaff! :)
Was a jingle company in Chgo... Klaff Weinstein Music. Gary happened to be singing on that track!
Do you have copies of all the songs on Oldsmobile tape? How can I contact you?
I Do I can make you a CD
practically the same car! even sounds the same! and if its a 2.8 comparing the 3.1 you can slightly tell the diference that its a bit smaller but looks exaclly the same! here at merida they are mostly 3.1 or 2.8 multiport FI, would be very wierd to se one of those 3 with a diferent kind of motor :l
The thing about these cars is they were good reliable luxury cars but poorly designed as well.
Well mine has Oldsmobile Theme, Time After Time-Cyndi Lauper Almost Paradise-Mike Reno & Ann Wilson To All the Girls I've Loved Before: Julio Igelsias & Willie Nelson The Way He Makes Me Feel- Barbra Streisand (noducksauce) Program Two Denver- Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers Lonely People- Jankie Fricke Fool for your Love-Mickey Gilley Surround Me With Love-Harly McClain Side B Program Three Billie Jean- Michael Jackson Never Too Much-Luther Vandross Let's hear it for the boy-
😢
@dmlagrange
a little too new for the average Oldsmobile buyer
corny maybe...but we all know it
There was no Cyndi Lauper on Oldsmobile's tape (to my knowledge). They were not that progressive in 1985!
Actually It's The Next Track On This Tape. Listen To My Playlist I Made.
I just copied the whole song listing from my Oldsmobile tape which is copyrighted 1981,1982,1983,1984, 1985 CBS Inc. Catalog number BT 18478 22531570 Time After Time is the next song.
Poor Man's Cadillac!
aaronesq More like upper middle-class man's Cadillac.
Those cars were garbage.
