What a coincidence. I left blr at 630 today finished work and got back by 11am.. it was unimaginable earlier
I remember I had done this route in 2006 in 4 hours. Glad to see this distance can be covered under 2.5hours.
Why 2.5 hours?
We can comfortably cover the distance (Kengeri/NICE road junction to Mysore Ring Road Junction) in 1.5 hours... I myself have done it multiple times (without excessive speeding)
You can actually go way quicker by maintaining the speed limit too. I made it from Rajarajeshwari dental college to Mysore in 54 minutes ish

@Kripal Amanna, Regarding Maddur Vade, Sauthekai and Bidadi Thatte idli, Channapatna toys
1. all those are available if you take the old 4 lane Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway. So if you want that, you can take that highway (which is far less congested now)
2. Expressway is made primarily for people who are looking for non stop and quick travel between the two cities. If you are looking for leisurely drive, take the old highway.
3. This is not the end of development of the expressway. Food courts along the route are coming up and local vendors will find place there and we can enjoy them once it is completed.
Besides this is nothing new or unexpected... Construction of any new highway obviously means loss of business to local vendors at least in the short term. And opportunities will rise along the new route with time. Point is building up good infrastructure that can support commercial and domestic travel needs, which is the primary purpose of the expressway.
When you guys get enamored by great highways in "developed" countries, I don't see these exact questions being raised even though it is just as much applicable there as it is here. But when any progress is made in India, a negative tone is invariably given.

Because ppl care about people familiar to them in their home country or state and not what was there before or after in developed countries. It's a valid concern. Hopefully those people are able to get good business at other place.
@@amols101 well, if people really care about something, they don't just critize or try to look down something good or talk only about negatives when there really isn't one... And all that without suggesting a better way to do it.
1. All the negatives expressed in the video are addressed by taking the old 4 lane highway.
2. And top of that, the expressway will get food courts and shopping centers giving employment opportunities to the public of that area.
3. If people praise a particular thing when it's in another country but critize the same thing in their country, it speaks more about their integrity than how good or bad that thing itself is.
It took me 4 hours of drive time starting from Whitefield at 8am on a Saturday. I keep a constant speed of 80KMPH on the expressway. The drive from Whitefield to Mysore Road is the toughest part and tests your patience.
On another note, I found that stopping for food on the expressway needs a lot of planning and you have to deviate quite a bit from the expressway itself.
I vote a thumbs down for this expressway as the toll charges are very high and not justifiable.
This is like saying I hate my old phone because it could survive a nuclear blast, well then go and buy it. Who is stopping you? Capitalism works because it has the greatest resolution and precision for an item's valuation of worth. Don't use emotions which cannot give u a precise answer about the value of a good.
India is rapidly changing for the better, growing in full length and stretch! Great to see this!

The point of expressways is to make the transportation of goods more efficient between places.
But it also goes to show poor planning in buildings this highway. Rather than promoting local businesses they are destroyed.

This is a access controlled expressway. That is why you have fencing on the both sides of the road
it is an access controlled highway and not an expressway, expressways are elevated.
It's is said as access controlled but in real access is free not controlled, anyone can easily hop on to highway without toll

Very good experience to drive on Mysore Expressway which we frequently drive. Good relief as we would be stuck many times on the old highway.

Hi Kripal, i just drove from pesit college to Mysore in one hour 15min exact. Amazing infrastructure.The only issue i felt some people drive the cars slow, they dont maintain the speed limit, which is a serious issue. I was at hanumnatu mess to savour their mutton biriyani. It was just yum, worth the 120km ride.
It's okay buddy below speed limit is really acceptable but over the speed limit never ever .
This country can avoid a lot of accidents and deaths if we act sensibly while driving and follow the rules.

Problem only comes with the ones with these slow ones on the righmost lane

Have done NICE road to Mysore in an hour. Great road with no incursions or crossings!
Today I happened to go by this expressway and I found it disturbing that heavy vehicles are on the fast lane and many car drivers are treating this as race track by overspeeding and cutting across lanes. So I guess people need to change also and take to safe driving.
Lot of options exist now to travel to Mysuru. Different categories of trains, different categories of govt buses along old and new highway, personal vehicles along old and new highway. I still travel by train because it is cheaper and safer. My personal view.

Sometimes it’s more scary to drive on good roads in India than on bad ones cause one invariably goes slow on them whereas am still not sure ppl appreciate and follow the traffic rules even if roads are good, yes ,they maintain the high speed limit on good roads but little else, one doesn’t know what to expect. Hope govt educates and ppl too follow them

Next time you can try Koramangala - Hosur Road - nice road - mysuru expressway. Toll will be high but time can be saved

You know what, The best thing I feel about you kannadigas is, unlike Tamilnadu you don't ask for native language. When I visited Blore first time I had a lot of inhibitions. But an auto driver gave me an option for 5 languages. I was taken back for a moment. That's your power guys. Don't lose it.

Not anymore an access controlled highway. Just drove this road from blr to mys. We had to take a sudden halt as a man was crossing along with his cow somewhere in the ramnagar belt. The mesh walls are cut in many places so jay walkers are going to increase now.
I don't know when will these people get some civic sense. Later they blame government for everything.

Sir while going to Mysore from your place take the Bannerghatta road and go to nice road and exit in Mysore road and enter the express way you'll take just max 2.5 hrs half an hour to Mysore road and 2 hrs from the entrance of the expressway as you'll be burning kre fuel than the toll u r paying

Another thing is that 6:49 , people don't know the lane discipline in service road . Actually speaking no one knows. Sometimes it becomes 2 way and sometimes 1 way . 😮😮 Some one needs to put some sign boards.

Sir i had tatte idly on the expressway. after the 1st toll gate need to take left towards service road. nitya idly hotel is 2 km from toll gate and diagonally opposite to oncomming lane toll gate.
I noticed that drivers do not put on turn signals when changing lanes. How quiet the drive was, no horns blaring.

All expressways in the country have banned two wheelers from using the road but don't understand why it's still not being implemented here and there is still lack of wayside facilities on the route which is still an issue for the travellers.

The credit for this expressway goes to Mr. Nitin Gadkari who is the roads and highways minister. He is from BJP.
The first expressway in India between Pune-Mumbai was also built by Mr. Gadkari in early 2000.

Hi, thanks for sharing your video. Really enjoyed it. I had driven along this highway in September 2022. It was not fully opened at that time and so we had to take service roads at some places. Then Google maps were not updated where the new highway had bypasses and re-alignments. It was still directing us towards the old highway. Is Google map up to date now? I am thinking of another Kannur-Mysore-Bangalore drive.
How long would it take if you started at 1AM on a sunday
I used it only till Srirangapattana, but good road, bug again, I do not advise going past 70 km/h, because of other drivers do not maintain lane discipline.
Love with this road. Its hassle free. Once auto and bikes are banned its swarga❤ heard that central govt did not approve the all exit road construction, i dont blame them its Karnataka people to be blamed for going after free free ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ಕಾಸು and not real development
Nice video and I liked the honest review. When we drive in foreign countries there is nothing to eat for miles and we are ok with it, but in India people complain so much. The road is made to people who want to reach fast, for those who want to stop in 100 places eat 100 things and reach, take the service roads and drive.
I think you can eat in the car while driving if you do not want to stop enwhere to eat or did not eat before starting or do not want to eat after reaching.❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥

Some vehicles don't follow basic rules of driving on expressways. Slow moving vehicles on the left only. However I have encountered many transport autos going at about 40 on the right or middle. Also the occasional biker driving exactly in the middle and risking everyone's lives.
Not the best of expressways in terms of world standard but I guess its good enough and hopefully the next batch of expressways would be of better quality.
I usually reach Mysore Columbia Asia signal from kadamba restaurant in kengeri in just 70 mins

On 5 th v went to mysure by jeep, I never felt fatigue for to & fro. They have not provide any pit stop for easy ourselves.

Mysuru Bengaluru expressway is good but seriously it’s very bad when it comes to highway drainage too much water logging no proper exit and entry points for ambulance and no shoulder provided for stop bcz of any type of accidents !!

4:23 Nope. Avoid NICE road, there are bigger bottle necks at the exits causing you to lose 30-45 mins during peak hours or long weekend.
I have been commuting between these cities for about two decades. While the multilane highway is a welcome thing, it has partly solved the problem.
If you want a somewhat less stressful, enjoyable commute, Try Bangalore - Nelamangala - Belur Cross - Pandavpura - Mysore. The route is 50-60kms and 30 mins longer. You don't have aggressive vehicles reeling on your, far less traffic, cleaner air and scenic.
I’ve done the Belur - Pandavapura route when I drove to Melukote.
Being new to BLR, travld to chanapatna, paid.for NICE ring road, then 165Rs for 20km till ramnagara.. my bad😢
I think the drive is worth it
I drove on this Expressway a few weeks ago. I noticed overloaded, slow moving transport vehicles plying on the lane reserved for fast moving vehicles. I noticed a number of automobile drivers speaking on their mobile phones while driving. It's time transport Department officials clamp down on all offenders. Sooner than later this beautiful Expressway will be as bad as City Traffic.

Road is not just a means of reaching one place to another it is also a means of economic development. Our engineers have displayed their lack of knowledge by not providing sufficient exits and not planning spaces for fuel stations and eateries in exits.
Dude there are exits at all major towns, more exits more people enter without toll and can't control, Expressway is meant for highspeed.... Mysore BLR has two highways now, people who have time to chill and want tatte idli maddur vade and all, who don't want toll will take old highway and do all that.... In expressway most cars drive above 120 as I have seen if you drive at 130 average In 1 hour you will be in Mysore, why unnecessary stops, if you want to stop chill and eat there's no point in entering expressway which will still make going to Mysore 3 hours

Mysore road is not good compared to Hubli tumkur road. too many curves, no long visibility, water lagging on roads when it rains , if someone over takes when the water logging, it will block the visibility of other vehicles
There is a new outlet of Renumkamba thatte idli probably around 8-10 kms after Bidadi on the express way.. try it next time
