Hi Brandon: I believe you are one of the more honest reviewers. I thank you for that. Some are being sent free equipment. Only that is not revealed. I am curious to hear your opinion on flywheel exercise and why you have no intention to review. Sorinex has a small unit that fits on a 3 x 3 column.
Man I love this content! I feel it difficult to make the powerbuilding ai program in my home gym with very limited equipment. Is the programming on the powerlifting ai catered more to a minimalistic set up and fewer exercises as well as combo/super sets?
been using app for over a year. the flexibility it allows for one to quickly "flex" programming in these types of situations is especially valuable IMO.
Thanks for the transparency, i respect you so much for this. As a 43 year old, you help remind me of what is naturally achievable. So many fake nattys out there, confusing everyone.
Really enjoying following along for this Juggernaut meet prep saga. Great storytelling. 6 sets of 5 with heavy weights for the big 3 + accessories.... How long did this session take? Are you supersetting?
This week was tougher to gauge b/c I didn't do any accessories. When I do, most sessions can still be completed in an hour. If I'm doing all 3 lifts in one day, I usually give priority to the first movement and try to superset the other 2 somehow.
Nice video Brandon and congrats on the vasectomy! I had mine last Aug and it was pretty easy going, although I couldn’t get back to full steam on lifting for about 10 days. Still had some pain after a week. Thanks for covering how you condense your training. I tend to follow a program exactly as written, kind of like FOMO for gains, but you seem to approach it with a level head and a realistic grasp on what the overall strength impact is. I’m going to start incorporating this approach. Question - when you don’t do all exercises in a given day, do you select the “didn’t finish” toggle when you wrap up the day?
Yeah I just know short term sacrifice equals long term gains. I'm hoping it's just a week but if I need more I"ll take it! In terms of logging I flip flop. I don't think it actually makes a difference though.
If my bench every week (on week3) is feeling super light/easy compared to how squat/deadlift weights are feeling should I add more than it suggests or do the max weight it suggests (usually a 5-6.5 rpe rating) and for the week just say it was too easy for the weekly survey thing?
Had a vasectomy last summer and I took a week off of training and jumped into it after the week off, but tbh I was feeling some discomfort in balls for about a month lol
Do you pay for the merchandise that you review or is it mostly given away by the manufacturer? This is an important question.I am just a humble consumer and would like to understand the common practice within the fitness review industry.
It's a mixed bag. Most of this stuff I buy with my own money these days. If it's a cheaper or budget item, it's usually sent to me in exchange for a review.
Sound advice on the stiff bar. Do you know what bar will be at the next competition? What's the most commonly used bars when you compete? Take it easy sir. Everyone I know personally that had that surgery rushed the recovery and ended up getting laid up for a few weeks or having very uncomfortable issues... non were high level amateur powerlifters though... wimps in reality I guess...
Hey, since you're not going to be making training log videos, now would be a great time to catch up on some product review videos! Hope the swelling stays down!
Does the volume become extremely high on this program? I've seen some training vlogs from the powerbuilding and the program has them doing 5-6 sets of squats and deadlifts on the same day plus accessories for example.
Yeah, the volume can definitely get pretty high in my experience. Im doing powerbuilding with JuggernautAI an the most intense week of my first hypertrophy block has 8 sets of 10 high bar squat followed by 4 sets of 8 deadlift then 5 or so accessories in the 2-4 set range
@@AccountErrorify I just can't see how that type of volume is needed ever. Hoping the powerlifting program isn't like this otherwise I can't see myself sticking with something like that for the long run
Congratulations on the vasectomy! I need to join that club and make an appointment with a urologist... BTW you still natty after getting your test levels checked?
I did my consultation with the urologist and decided the risk from the procedure, while low, wasn’t worth it for me. Apparently 1% of patients experience permanent ball pain after the procedure. Permanent… 1% is too high for me if that’s the outcome in question. My wife and I are in our 40s though so the risk of pregnancy isn’t very high anyway, especially with a properly worn rubber and the old pull out method 💦
They told me i'm still firing live rounds for the first 15 times or so and that I have to go give a sample in 8 weeks to confirm there's no active shots left.
Thanks for touching on some men's health topics recently, your openness is very refreshing. Nice work in the condensed week!
Thanks Joe!
Love the training updates. Here’s to a smooth recovery
Thanks Tony
2:55 On the DL... Lol switching from pounds to kilograms but the plates are mostly red (ie 55lb or 25kg same weight in pounds or kilos)
Makes it easier for sure lol
that was literally the last thing i was expecting lol
Wildcard bitches!
Great stuff
Thanks all!
Good work...yeah the stitches I didn't need to know about...LOL

Funny I guessed it before even starting this video! Well done Brandon. Week off won’t change anything. 💪🏼
Thanks my dude
Glad to see a lot of men open to talking about mens health. Cheers B
Just putting my balls out on the internet, nothing to see here :)
I know it’s 87 days out but good luck on beating that meet
Gonna beat that meat.
Will you be doing a review on flywheel equipment sometime in the future?
No, I don't have any interest in using one in my training.
Thank you for both answers. I have a feeling that many reviewers are beholden

@@imluzhin They just seem gimmicky to me, are typically expensive, and I don't see how they fit into my style of training (powerlifting).
@@BasementBrandon I understand.

In some cases, but that's where swapping exercises comes into play!
Very interesting. Nice work
Thanks Bob!

Didn’t come to hear about stitches on the balls, but it sure was a funny addition.
My balls aren't laughing.

like most things, it depends. I would prob suggest first increasing the progression at your end of the week check ins and see how that goes.
Any chance you get the Rep cambered bar to review?
It looks decent to me, but I probably won't be buying one since I already have a Kadillac bar.
Brandon’s half the man he used to be.🙏🏼
Had to move down a weight class, this was the best option.
Yo these thumbnails are nice man.
Thanks, they're easy since it's just a screen cap lol

Ha yeah going to play it safe! The USAPL meets here usually use the Eleiko bar, so super thin collars and extra stiff.
1:10 So there's no chance a dodgy judge red lights you because your arms are small?
They'll be too distracted by all the glory that is me in a singlet.

Can be. Based off a lot of MEV/MRV principles. So depends what you can handle and what program you're doing (and where you are in the program).
looking solid my man ;cp
Appreciate it
Don't miss those curls, bro!
I would say curls for the girls, but I'm pretty useless with the vasectomy.
@@BasementBrandon 😅
What shoes you wearing?
Reebok Crossfit Lite TR Lo. All time favorite training shoe, but they stopped making them a few years ago :(
Vasectomy adds +25 strength onto your 3 main lifts. Smart move to do this before the meet...
Going back for more in that case.
Lol…stitches on my balls is not something I was expecting to hear on this app update! 😂 glad it went well!
Have to keep the content fresh ya know!
Do you deal with any back pain?
Nope, with smarter programming and training I've been able to avoid a lot of that.
@@BasementBrandon Awesome, good deal. Glad to hear it. Thanks and keep up the good work.
If you hit any PRs at your upcoming meet, you’re going to have to get snipped every meet prep 👀
I asked for a reduction while there, will help with my weight cut.
You get a week off for the snip snip? Damn, what am I waiting for?
Of lifting, I got the afternoon off work lol.
Welcome to the Snip Clique
Lost about 10lbs.
It doesn't matter what bench I do. It's always below the poverty level.
Lol same, but gonna keep on tinkering

Yes, decided I didn't want to go the clomid route. Also I like competing in tested meets. Feel it's a more level playing field lol.
