That's So Cool you got to meet him !! That must have been a blast driving that ! I have a Viper - Its thanks to his visions that the Viper was Created !
I just came across this video. I'm 69 now, but starting around 1964, when I was 10, Carroll Shelby became one of my lifelong idols. I never met him, but I still have an autographed photo from him to me, kindly obtained on my behalf, through Carroll's friend, Bill Neale, the famous racing illustrator. Like you, for me the 289 Cobra has always been the definition of automotive perfection. Congratulations to you for having the chance to drive one and thanks for sharing the experience.
Wow, what a very cool and iconic car. I've always admired Carroll Shelby and that's very cool that you were able to meet him when you were younger. He was involved in some legendary cars through the years and he's one of the most admired people in automotive history. A Shelby Cobra would definitely be in my dream garage.
Wow your videos are pure perfection haven't watched in a while and the level of your professionalism went sky high. Congrats from a poor teacher in Poland who loves cars but has little means.
Hey! I followed your channel a couple of years ago and paused for a while when I thought it was a bit monotonous. Now I have found my way back to the channel and unlike several others, you seem genuinely interested in what you do. More than just collection day, detailing, larger exhaust etc. Good job Seb!
Caroll Shelby... The absolute american car legend... That mostly spent his 88 years putting his name on other peoples cars and lived off his couple of race wins. There are just no real car movers, creators, and heroes in the US.
@@sw651 Panoz, Mosler, Saleen, and later there was SSC and Hennessey... There isnt a single airbag or crash test between them. All running on kit-car numberplates. Just like this car. America just dont know how to make the real deal.
@@captain_context9991 there is legislation in the works for low volume producers. The problem is too many regulations for cars. This legislation will relax some of those to help out the little guys.
@@sw651 Yeah exactly. They get numberplates in the mail without having to do crash testing, emissions testing, any hint of federalisation at all. And they get tax-breaks and all the other stuff. Which means when you drive these things, you are also driving a car that has not been crash tested... That was never BUILT to be crash tested... And so there is no DRIVE. No incentive, no need for american small-time manufacturers to ever make REAL cars. They keep putting these kit-car plates on half-baked, home-welded steel and aluminium cars rather than stepping up and making the real thing. And this... Helping out the little guy... IMAGINE What Shelby Cobra could have been today... If they had continued it and developed it over the years into a modern supercar. But nope... America doesnt do that.

You should do more of this type of car. Classics and modern versions of older cars.
