Who else think Oxhorn should do a Bestiary of the creatures of Fallout and how they differ from Wasteland to Wasteland
Mr Random I think that would be a good idea. There are a lot of different evolutionary paths that the local mutations took. Like how the Mirelurks in DC, and Point Lookout are bipedal.
Long time fan, would love to see that.
Seconded
I would watch the heck out of that!
That's called the fallout wiki to. It's been done. I dont think hammy voice work would make it better.
If you get a look at the front of the Flatwoods monster you can see small legs in the body indicating that it might be a disabled or mutated Zetan.
Zetan who was experimented on from what I have heard
Yeah and if you look closely at the face, you can see teeth that are almost identical to zetan teeth
@@madisonmarybrule1129 people have pulled the model apart on diff vids, its a zetan with stubby legs, in a suit made to help it move, face is identical to a zetan just in a smoke filled helmet with glowing eyes hands are the same too
I think it's a sentient potato
It sounds like a UFO is near by when you fight it unless that's just the space suit sound Haha
Not sure if anyone else brought it up, but there is a holotape somewhere near hilfolks hotdogs that has a police interview with a flatwoods monster abductee.
Not sure if anyone else brought it up the name flatwood forest sounds like a name that a flat earther likes.
@@patrickiamonfire965My girlfriend used to call me Flatwood.
The Flatwoods Monster can also do mind control if it gets aggressive which is very rare but has happened to me. It was controlling the robots at White Springs when I was fighting it. Definitely by far one of the coolest creatures in the game.
I had ran into one while scavenging in a nuke site, managed to piss it off, and regreted that decision immensely. Flatwood monster started calling other creatures made tougher by the nuke to screw me up.
Yeah it controlled a sheepsquatch when i was fighting it
It was having my own turrets hostile to me they didn’t shot but they showed up as hostile until I killed the flatwoods.
Thing came at me with an army of animals, scorched and a scorchbeast
I love that Ox walks around with his camera while in power armor just imagine some poor survivors seeing a man barreling towards them then skids to a stop and he pulls out a camera and asks if he can get a picture with them
Just seeing a guy in a full suit of power armor going up to 15 foot beasts just casually taking pictures
Gib picture or I take your legs
Just pure confusion
"weird 10 foot monster"
WHO IS WHIPPING OUT MEASURING TAPE WHEN ENCOUNTERING THESE THINGS?!
Everything looks bigger when you're terrified, especially the thing you're terrified of, it looks big, people make a assumptions, guesses and exaggeration.
It’s not hard to tell when you’re average height and this thing is so much stupidly tall compared to you.
🤣🤣🤣
LMAO
Rough estimates
“Hi! My names Sally” **MOTHER SHIP ZETA THEME INTENSITIES**
Just a tip, it is a zetan. I killed him and searched his face where you can see he does have the face of it, but its eyes are purple through the mask. It also is a short variant as the model does have legs inside
So that entire radio show is just captioned with "(Radio drama plays)"? That's not very accessible of you, Bethesda.
Sarah Acree yeah i agree

That was definitely intentionally added. Bethesda also invited him to a prelaunch Fallout 76 event so they were definitely aware of his character.

I wonder if there are other teddy bear UA-camrs out there in the wastes?
Everyone's favorite disabled alien.
I don't ever want to have mobility issues (who does?), but if it happens, I want that suit.
I want a blood red one
Yes.
?
The Flatwoods Monster isn't disabled it's just a midget. if you shoot the torso of it's hoverskirt sometimes it reveals a pair of feet on pedals controling the jets.
If the flatwood monster fall in its back you can see its a deformed zetan. Just to you know ox.(Sorry for my english. Its not my Native language)

Something you seemed to have missed is the fact that the Flatwoods Monster actually possesses the ability to turn hostile animals (to itself or the player) into an ally to attack you. When I was fighting it, it brainwashed a nearby deathclaw it was fighting at the time to directly attack me. Another time I was attacked by a radstag, and another, a yaoguai. This effect seems to give the creatures a decent buff & a very obvious purple glow.
A few things about the flat woods monster: the flat woods monster will mind control any creatures and machines around it to turn them passive, it has green skin and looks like a zetan if you clip through the helmet, and has very short green legs that are visible from the front which could mean it’s disabled and that’s the reason it has such a unique suit.
Think you’re looking too far into the Sally thing, Ox. I think “Sally” was just picked as a generic little girl name. Like “Johnny” or “Billy” for a little boy
Sally is an alien, mothership zeta was a planned test
There was a DLC for Fallout 3 in which you get abducted by aliens that the game identifies as Zetans. On their ship are other humans who have been abducted, one a Japanese samurai from the feudal era, and one is a girl from pre-War America named Sally. So it is actually an in-universe reference.
I've seen it at White Springs and other places. At White Springs, it "possessed" the robots and a scorchbeast as well. Talk about an interesting fight.

Interesting. "Who Goes There?" is the title if the original short story that became the movie The Thing
They had the flatwood monster case on the project bluebook tv show
Jokester30 I remember that episode. I didn’t like their rendition particularly though. I prefer the more mechanized look that the witnesses described in the original sighting. I personally think Earth is visited by Aliens.
Ox if you go into photo mode and look into the monster's helmet you can see a alien face.
And feet.
Which looks practically exactly like a Zetan.
Maybe the alien thing is the Sally in the cave, the boy in the play said "What's that thing screwed into your head". This theory follows the conclusion that there were two different Sallys
No if you kill it and look at its head its a normal zetan
@@EveryoneElseIsWeirdImNormal Hmmmm... good to know, thanks for telling me this, this whole theory was a shot in the dark anyways and the only thing i had to back it up was the radio recording
@@EveryoneElseIsWeirdImNormal Zetans has technology to traverse the Universe, I don't see it being impossible for them to somehow make like a really realistic mask of sorts or with their helmets project other faces onto their own for quick disguises. Like with the boy and sally from the holotapes.
@@ArturoPladeado they did make zetan human hybrids of sorts but why would they send Sally or some other human down in a mask but we can also see its feet and there alone feet and kinda small
@@EveryoneElseIsWeirdImNormal Simple. A experiment to see if they can fool people by disguising one of them or another human as a different one. Kinda like What the institute did with Generation 3 Synths.
Played game since launch and i havent fought it yet. Its that rare. Killed Mothman a dozen times but the Flatwoods Monster eludes me.
Lol that crazy its like the opposite for me, ive encountered the flatwoods monster many times yet never seen the mothman
I’ve only seen it once, and I chose to capture the moment with my ProSnap. Then it disappeared.
Go to Abbie's bunker (Top right of the map in the Mire) go inside for about a minute then leave and when you're outside sprint and look to your right after exiting the external bunker door on the hill, it should spawn. It has almost always spawned there for me and my dad. I recommend VATS hitting it to give it less of a chance to teleport away.
This is my fav story of the West Virginia folklore.
Cant believe they incorporated it in Fallout.
Thank you oxhorn for doing this one.
[Radio Drama plays]
Is that seriously the subtitle?
perfect timing for a sunday morning
One straight up scared me to death as soon as I spawned in my camp's missile turret started shooting at something (It's pointed towards a fissure site so I thought it might be a scorchbeast) so I turn around and there it is.
Plot twist, your from West Virginia. (I’m joking)
I think the flatwoods monster is a zeta experiment. Like the fallout 3 abomination.
oh yes the abominations lol they scared me at first i have to admit!
If you look close hes got stubby little legs, I think hes a disabled Zetan. Basically a rocket wheelchair.
I have a level 44 and a level 76 and only the 76 has had an encounter with the flatwoods monster. While a friend and I were fighting a scorchbeasts while hunting treasure, the scorchbeast starts glowing purple. I say "What is it doing? I've never seen a scorchbeast do that before" While my friend had it distracted, I turn around and there it is: The Flatwoods Monster!
I live about an hour from flatwoods, interesting little legend

Any Zelda fan would recognize the Flatwoods Monster as the aliens that attack Romani Ranch on the First Night in Majora's Mask.
One of the more interesting IRL theories I've heard about the Flatwoods monster was that it was a misidentified owl (either a Barn or Barred Owl). The reflective colored eyes, the odd head shape, and the "terrible claws" (i.e. talons) described by some accounts actually jive pretty well with an agitated, territorial mother owl. It's great height could easily be someone seeing the owl's face up on a branch or in midair, and they glide pretty silently (the creature was said to glide or hover instead of having discernable legs). All it would take is a fear-primed witness to imagine they were dealing with a humanoid body beneath the distinctive face. Additional invented details can *easily* be added to the story through retellings, as is extremely common with any cryptid panic or news flap.
This is actually the same theory behind the Mothman sightings, which describe a similar, silently flying cryptid with bicycle reflector-like eyes. And the infamous abandoned Army ammo dump near where Mothman was sighted is actually an owl sanctuary.
This could be 100% possible, ive had the absolute shit scared out of me by a barn owl before. One of those things comes out of a tree screeching wings out and everything it looks like a God dam demon.
Now I'm imagining an alternate Fallout 76 where both Mothman and the Flatwoods Monster are mutant owls.
The flatwood monster spawns at silo site alpha. I meet him about 20% of the time I go there.
Go into Abbie's Bunker (Top right of the map in the Mire) and if you stay in the bunker for at least a minute and come out it'll almost always spawn. But as soon as you come back out you have to sprint and VATS hit it because from me and my dad experiences with it, it'll just teleport away if you just walk out. Also it spawns on the top of the hill to your right. (If inside the bunker and facing outside)
If you want to see real Flatwoods monster, go to Area 51 in September
ThomasGreat be sure to keep well away from the Kyle wave
They're doing it in September?
Lol they been moved to Wright Patterson's afb.
The first time I've encountered the flatwoods monster was exciting. My friend and I were just wandering cliffsides and we heard a weird sound. Just down the cliff we saw it and we freaked out. After the first shot, it started teleporting away and I yelled "dont let it live!" After jumping down multiple cliffs in our power armor, we finally got it. Definitely one of the most fun experiences I've had in f76. If only I could finally find and kill a mothman... sigh.
Oxhorn if u use photomod and u put ur camera into his helmet u will see that his alien is actually zetan! I saw a video about this but Idk how it was called
Maybe juiceheads channel
Zachary Stefano no that wasnt him he makes totally different content
It's always a pleasure to watch oxhorns videos on fallout 76 lore, because when i play myself the holotapes seem to always cut out because of public events. Not to mention someone having an open mic and their mom yelling to them about cleaning their room.
I killed a flat woods monster and it glitched so I was able to look inside it’s helmet it’s a zetan with purple glowing eyes and also zetans are In the fallout 76 survival guide so maybe as a future dlc their is gonna be a zetan invasion
You’re absolutely right! Look at the f76 roadmap there will be alien dlc
Actually I think 2 of your theories about Sally could be right, they might have some sort of anti age serum to give their prisoners but they only give it to few people as it's probably made by ancient alien artifacts like the 1 we find in Fallout 4 when we find a 400 year old family surviving off the serum. It's also possible they mastered time travel as they are clearly an advanced species
I found the flatwoods monster once in the ash heap, at one of the hornwright air purifiers. It teleported away before I got the chance to do anything
It still doesn't make sense how there's all these sightings and media of the grafton monster and snallygaster, yet in the lore they escaped from West tek the day the bombs fell.
Hello Ox. I'm coming forward with information from fallout 4. I was in a little shop(abandoned) in Boston. When I heard two disembodied voices. One shouting for more psycho. And another voice cowering saying there isn't any. Well roughly that's what I heard. I only heard it once. But it was chilling. Both voices were male. I haven't seen anything else about this "paranormal" experience.
I was level 5 when I first ran into one for the first time. That thing absolutely wrecked me on the golf course
I was level 10 when I saw it and I was with my friends at the white springs and he controlled the robots and we all died and lost our power armor
I always enjoy your videos! Maybe next you can do a Mothman video?
Also, maybe the Flatwoods Monster is a high-ranking Zetan Officer, as they have fancier technology (hover jets, teleportation, hand blasters) and zooming in on it’s helmet reveals a Zetan.
He has already done one.
RokuroCarisu Oh, I didn’t know
I've run into one 3 times, but I haven't been able to kill one because they teleport away after one shot and don't return. I like the little tributes to you: the Oxhorn cigar holder, the Oxhorn teddy bear, and I also saw the suspenders outfit on a chair with the derby hanging from the seat back in the upstairs club room at the Golf Club at Whitespring.

Wow I've been waiting for you to make a video on this monster.
I’m pretty sure the Flatwoods Monster is a Zetan in a suit that they design to survive the on earth. If you think about it, all other time we met Aliens on Earth in Fallout, they were in a crash. So the theory could work, maybe they slowly die when exposed to the weird post war atmosphere of the earth.
On a side note: There’s a lot of proof that another race of Aliens were on earth long before the Zetans. In Fallout 4, during the Cabot house quest you meet Lorenzo Cabot who appears to have some kind of alien or ancient technology stuck on his head. This device gives him advantage knowledge and power, modifies his blood and body so he’s immortal, and allows him to speak with a species of advanced beings either concurrently or through time. Now, the he does look a lot like a piece of Dwemer technology from the Elder Scrolls series. Which is possible as this entire quest could be a starting point for connecting the Fallout series with the Elder Scrolls series and in the future other BGS titles like Starfield. However, it’s a custom asset, it’s model was never used in any set in previous Elder Scrolls games, or ESO. So, where did it come from? Considering how we don’t know much about the Zetans from all of our encounters so far, it’s safe to say that they are either looking for something or preparing for war. The Zetans kidnapped humans and experimented in them, for the end goal of probably turning them into an Obedient work force or army. These abominations we discovered during the Mothership Zeta DLC for Fallout 3. They weren’t perfect, nor did they obey the Zetans, instead they were extremely hostile to anyone who isn’t one of them. So, you could say that this abomination project of theirs was going as smoothly as sneaking into a Mother Deathclaw’s nest without being detected. Now, I won’t back up the claim that the zetans started the Great War as I believe everyone from the US, China, Vault-Tec, and the Zetans were involved in destroying the world plus many others, but maybe the reason why the zetans wanted to dropped the bombs was because they abomination experiments weren’t turning out right after centuries of taken people from earth and exposing them to it. Maybe they had the idea of what would happen if they exposed it to an irradiated human. Which would help explain Sally a bit. I think the Zetans kidnapped two Sallys, one before the bombs dropped, and one after the bombs dropped for some reason. Both Sallys never met, as the first Sally probably died to one of their experiments or maybe the two Sallys got switched around and the sister of the Sally we met in the Fallout 3 DLC were grouped up by accident, experimented on and killed with the Pre-war Sally. After all, the Zetans don’t seem that bright. Although this theory is quite sound, but is much assumption, there’s no proof the Zetans kidnapped a (non-feral) ghoul before. We have proof of their earliest abduction some time during 1400-1500, and we have evidence from Lorzeno Cabot himself that this race of beings he’s speaking to has been on earth much longer than that. I believe he even found the helm long before the Zetans earliest abduction. So, question is, where is this other race of aliens and what do they want?
I have never seen this monster and im level 72

Level 170 seen flat woods 2 times, mothman once, they are very rare the only reason I found it was because I built my camp at a legendary spawn which can sometimes be deathclaws, or criptids.
I am lvl 22 and saw the flag woods monster 8 times and moth man 4 times
I’ve seen a few mythical class Flatwoods monsters
Seen one at level 13 (me and friends ran away in fear)
Level 132 now and have encountered 3 Mythical ones in that time only and all teleported away. Level assessment maybe?
I'll be honest, I'd love a series from you talking about various Cryptids and such! You have the perfect voice for it imo.
I'm betting that the Chinese are involved with the ingame version of the Flatwoods Monster. It's been months now, but I recall some entries in the secret terminals about research into disrupting American life and the morale of the populace. We know they had stealth and plasma tech. The hover isn't far off from a handy/nanny bot. Drop a few in key locations before invasion and suddenly you get stories of "aliens" invading. Even experienced troops may freak out. Especially if they attack fiercely and then vanish into thin air.
Alternatively, what would Chinese operatives think of Zetans?
Best thing about the flatwood monster was that it inspired the scariest shit in a video game
"They... They come at night... every year when the carnival approaches... They come riding in a bright, shining ball. A whole lot of them come down... And then... They come to the barn..."
The one aspect of Fallout 76 that I actually genuinely like are these Cryptids. Chatlee last-minute Decisions by the Publishers probably led to the disaster that is Fallout 76.
Same. Honestly, it's something I hope they incorporate into future Fallout games; each region of the country has it's own host of cryptids and creatures of folklore, so it'd be cool to see how these legends persist in the post-apocalypse.
I only ever saw this dang thing once, north of the Teapot. I was just running through the woods for that damn honey mission, when something popped up on my Pip-Boy and I hear this weird noise. I turned just in time to see the purple mist this thing leaves when it teleports away. I spent five minutes trying to find where it went, but it was just gone.
On the one hand, I got to give props to Bethesda because that is really how a lot of supposed cryptid sightings work in the real world. On the other, it really tick me off cuz I wanted the fight the damn thing, and it just up and ran away.
Since this game takes place in the future, the flatwoods monster is just the aftermath from storming area 51.

Originally I didn’t care about Fallout 76, and only watched your Fallout 4 content and cared about settlement building immensely. But after watching your video on the wendigo and seeing the gameplay made me change my mind. If I weren’t for you, I’d still be convinced that 76 is merely a half-decent game I wouldn’t want to play, but now I’m planning to get a better computer to play 76 so I can meet up with people like you and hopefully help other newcomers. I got to fight that monster twice a week ago, I will say it is bad shooting.
I had a geniunely creepy encouter with this creature in the Mire, outside my C.A.M.P.
They also had a Samurai from the 1700's... so time travel is totally plausible.
Well it's not time travel it's cryogenic freezing still I don't doubt the Zetans could possibly have it.
@@orion3740 Freezing is definitely a possibility, as VaultTec has it, my personal belief is that they have time travel capabilities, though. several hundred years is a long time to hang around collecting people. We know they have suspended animation, we saw it... but then main downside I could tell about time travel, is their lack of prisoners from the FUTURE.
@@ffa2dramachick well we know time travel is possible as it happens in fallout 2 granted I dont know if it's canon because it's a random encounter but they have done it before. But I'm saying the ship you are on in Zeta does not have time travel capability, again I don't disagree that they have time travel capabilities on their home world but the fact remains that they just don't have it on the ship you find as the lone wanderer. Plus as a side note it's only a 50/50 chance that the Zetans have time travel capability as by a game and story standpoint it would be really hard to make it work for fallout for it to be a standalone game with it's own story and I don't think bethesda would have the time or patience to make a game like that. Still I think it would be cool to see some time travel in a 76 dlc as it's still a very cool thing to have happen if done right.

I’m surprised no one heard the boy say “what’s that helmet bolted on your head” it’s a disguised alien HOW DID NO ONE ELSE HEARD THIS WHAAAAAAAT also if anyone else thought of this let me know I’m just saying this because no one in the chat talks about that
The boy is left behind with what are possibly bolt hole scars on his head. Its probably a mind control helmet.
I met with it by a southwestern gate of the Whitesprings golf course. Used up most of my stimpaks and shotgun shells on it. The assaultrons and sentrybot guarding the entrance didn’t want to help at all. In fact, their health bars turned red and stayed red, but didn’t attack me.
You make the best videos, keep up the good work Oxhorn.
My first Flatwoods Monster was, ironically enough just outside Flatwoods on my way down to Charleston early on. It didn't attack me and it was just floating in the far distance, then it just poofed out of existence. Spooky and effective, I kept my eyes peeled from then on so as not to miss it again, but along with the Mothman the Flatwoods Monster is seemingly one of the most elusive creatures in Appalachia.
Hey Ox there's a holotape about the flat woods monster at a place called hillfork hotdogs. Dont know if you missed it or not. Love the videos.
There is always the possibility that her memories were altered. After all, on the tape it was shown that they could alter her mind so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Keeping this in mind, they could have merged her memories with another child from after the bombs dropped or something along those lines. So saying that this could be the same Sally is still possible.
Doesn't the radio play talk about a helmet sally is wearing and how it's screwed into her head? Then she starts repeating the same thing over and over. Is it not possible that sally is just a robot(like a synth) that the aliens created to get the abductees to trust it, then they would change its memories according to what they thought the abductees would find the most comfortable. Then she could have gone rouge by the time of fallout 3.
This would explain the aging and the pre-war connection.
The Flatwoods Monster is in fact Zetan, if you get close to its helmet or inside it you can see that it has the head and face of a Zetan.
Please do the Graffton Monster next.
I’ve found that sometimes it’ll spawn at locations that nukashine drops you.
Also, if done right, if you’re either close to the Flatwoods Monster or you get hit enough times by it’s laser, it’ll give your weapon a temporary unnamed buff, in that anything you shoot with it is gets a poison like damage.
Had that happen after fighting it with my double barrel shot gun, and my gun became a one hit.
Some things just have no explanation. You don't need to make up absurd reasons like the Zeateans having time travel to explain one overlooked aspect.
Exactly! Sally is a common girl's name. It's like saying all "Timmys" and "Johnnys" from stories are the same.
The radio play is just a radio play, made up names and events.
Sally in Fo3 is not related to it in any way.
I fought one of these things before. It freaked the hell out of me because It made the scorched purpleish/pink around me. I had no idea the monster was in the game, very cool.
I've seen it once. Level 72. It is a zetan in a suit, it fell face up when I shot it
Actually, if the corpse lands the right way, if you walk into it (as you can’t any other dead creature) and it is in fact Zetan. It does have legs in the suit (most likely a Zetan environment suit) curled up in there, but still Zetan. My guess is the Flatwood’s Monster(s) are sent to analyze flora and creatures from the ground before extracting. The Alien found in Fallout 4 most likely isn’t wearing this due to its ship crashing, not him being sent to gather data. Currently, the actual Alien Zetan, despite being in the strategy Guide, is not in the game, so perhaps when a DLC comes out with the actual Alien, we might get the Lore we need to fully tell this story.
Someone somehow got inside the suit and clearly see that it was a Zetan the traditional ones green with space suit it's just wearing some thought of scout armour
That oxhorn reference at the table with the cigar smoking and liquor drinking teddy bear wearing a bowler hat. Lol.
Im pretty sure it isnt the same Sally, bro, Bethesda isnt known to make good "lore" like that.
Commented a person on a channel near completely devoted to lore, mainly made by Bethesda
@@WalkinStereotype And? Oxhorn is a good man but he sometimes likes to make up his own "connections" when in reality there isnt one, like for example Sally here, doesnt add up at all, but he tried anyway. *shrugs*
Luzur You seriously think him going through possibilities that people may think equals him attempting to cover up bad lore? And Bethesda putting in a reference instead of completely connecting the two is bad lore? That’s some over 9000 IQ thought processes right there.
@@WalkinStereotype Thanks LOL, but, ya even sure its a reference? Sally is a pretty common name.
Luzur And how many female names are there? Even just boiling it down to typically American names, you’re looking at thousands. Boil it down even further to the top 300, you’re still looking at a 0.003% chance. If that was a coincidence, Bethesda wasted all their luck on that. I don’t think that’s the case. They probably wasted their luck elsewhere, gambling away the canvas bags, and this is a reference to Mothership Zeta.
You can easily prove it's a zetan by glitching the camera inside its helmet. I found a spawn point near my camp somewhere between the freak show and the monorail station plus there's a chance that a mothman will spawn nearby.
Hi oxhorn can you make an updated version of youre video where you talk about instaling mods for fallout 4? ⬅️⬅️⬅️⬆️⬅️📢📢📢
Btw greetings from denmark
He already said he wouldn’t.
@@TheLostHatchet well damn
Had mine on the golf course. It turned all the creatures near me hostile to me (including whitespring bots) and me and my buddy were getting shredded. But using the camera we clipped into the monster after we killed it and saw its face. It is a Zeetan with goggles implanted on its face. The body if broken shows a small (around 2ft tall) body with petals and control sticks for the suit it was wearing. Clipping in just shows really basic polygons of the control surfaces and low resolution body. So unless you are lucky enough to break it you likely wont see inside the suit.
Trey the Explainer made two great videos about the Flatwoods monster.
Yesterday I met a NPC ( a storyteller) after some dialoque where he talked about a monster with purple eyes a flatwoods monster spawned. Met the guy at the small camp in the north where you sometimes have to take pictures for Davenport.
ALL ABOARD THE PAIN TRAIN!!! WOOO WOOOOOO!!!!
i like the end when you visit that little cliff with that dead woman. it shows she was ready to be taken by the bombs when they dropped and that she wasn't afraid to die. it's sad the fallout universe is but it has to happen.
Fix your game!🤬🖕🏻
I’m kidding I love this game!😂
if you look in the front of the flatwood's monster youll see that the torso and arms and head all look normal and resemble a zetan, however if you look below the waist youll see that it's legs are much smaller than a normal zetan (almost baby sized). This leads me to believe that the flatwood's monster must be some form of deformed zetan who (due to his deformity) cant walk so he must use the suit to travel. Thats why the suit fully encloses his legs but his upper body is free to move.
(Edit) also in past games zetans have been able to survive in Earth's atmosphere without the aid of a space suit, however the flatwoods monster is in a full body suit with what looks to be some kind of tank on his back which I believe is to help him breath.
They can survive Earth's atmosphere, but maybe it's not optimal for them.
Growing up having my grandfather tell me this story its really cool to see in fallout
It could be a different race that’s in a war with the Zetans and that’s how that one ship crashed in fallout 4
Fred met Sally 1.0 on the alien ship. "Sally" went through a few upgrades before she was ordered to guide and observe the lone wanderer hundreds of years later.
I first saw the flatwoods monter at lvl 6 or seven about 3-5 minutes walk west of the wayward bar. (just started playing two days ago)
