We are both separate and part of our worlds. Psychiatrist Judy Tsafrir drew a card from a tarot deck composed of trees that mirrored my intent and helped strengthen it. How does this mirroring work? We make our guesses. More important is that it happens and can be helpful to you. Look for the reflections. They are there!
Judy Suzanne Reis Tsafrir, MD, is a holistic healer, activist, artist, and gardener with a private practice of holistic psychiatry and psychoanalysis located in Newton, Massachusetts. She is a board-certified adult and child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. She is also a practitioner of Astrology, Tarot, Shamanism, BodyIntuitive, and Reiki. Her new book, Sacred Psychiatry: Bridging the Personal and Transpersonal to Transform Health and Consciousness was published by Greenleaf Book Group in January 2024.

I am really enjoying this pod cast - all the guests are seekers and finders ! I write music , and a while ago I realized that when people listen to the same music at the same time , the brain trees light up , and then suddenly we are all working with a full deck -- the music is actually a reflection of the beauty and balance that exists in our brain structures . - We only can perceive what we are able to connect with - and the music makes our brains lit up and connect- able .
would the word entrainment also mean what you describe music can do?
@@Coinciders Hi - I beleive that the reason that music sounds different than noise , is because noise is alerting the system to something that is happening outside the self , but music resonates with the brain tree , and the brain recognizes that the sound it is receiving is actually same similar to its own self . Because of that , the brain will light up evenly , as it is stimulated in self recognition . Shadowed areas will light up , and soon the mood of the music has entered the listener . To me , a group of five great musicians in a band is like a operating room with five of the best neuro surgeons , going in and re wiring the mind to their own power structure . Because musicians play music that makes THEM feel good . So they pass that over , in the sounds to the listener . One day , we will respect musicians as the pharmacist - or surgeon . I do not think that entrainment is the word , unless you are listening to 50 year old songs in the grocery store loudspeaker -- that stuff IS addiction based , in that it is locating a stasis connection ( addiction ) rather than growing new brain space . They want you to buy that same old can of Cambell's soup , its in their benefit that same keeps happening , day after day . Lately , I am very aware of live music , vs canned . Super important to expose your mind to fresh sounds , coming from Sound Doctors that you trust .
I believe that when people truly open up and communicate , they share brain tree energy , its the SPACE , not the leaves or oranges on the trees , So people open up new space for each other , and then in that space , new connections can happen , which is this synchronicity experience - the FIRST time you meet your long lost friend , you are like " What a co incidence ! " the second time , you say hi and feel happy . So this open space is creating fresh brain tree space , into which pour all these new possibilities . All these bridges linking up makes dopamine flow --

My journey has led me to you today, and the fact that you are a psychiatrist with these beliefs is a comfort because I keep wondering if I’m crazy 🥹 people who aren’t awake in the slightest think I’m off my head. But Thursday just gone, I had the most AMAZING eye opening enlightenments in quick succession in a row (3 of them) and I’ve been looking for answers and comfort since. I think that the structure - requires NEW space , to make NEW connections , and NEW lit pathways -- so sometimes a little chemical , sometimes a fresh vision , or new taste sensation , and suddenly , new brain opens up to grow new pathways in .

People have a vested interest in their static world . Maintenance of sameness is very addictive . IN fact , all addictions are the addiction to stasis . I make that claim . Being fluid is a requirement for consciousness , and consciousness feels very unstable to most people who do not know how to sail the ship , and would rather be passengers on said ship .

The only way we can peceive the truth of - "The field of consciousness " is in variations of the speed that it is flowing , based on the level of harmony between the two river edges that the river is flowing through . @@Coinciders we can create static pools via disharmony -- I would say the crisis in Gaza is a case in point - and I was SO relieved to hear you mention that with compassion and fearlessness . Things can remain calm for a while , but when we are addicted to that , the calm no longer serves , necessarily . Constant attentive gardening and walking and talking with god -- planning and decision making , as well as clearing the mind , and educating the self from experience and the experiences of others ( story telling ) -
