Right Dee! It’s very gradual. My ex started with a lil push, then hitting me with pillows in my face when we argue and I really didn’t do anything about it. I just told not to do that. Then, he threw a remote control and hit me in my chest because he was mad about something. I picked it up and threw it at his head and told him to pack his shit and get the fuck out. It would have continued and gotten worse.
A lot of guys get abused to be really honest, but they don't speak up about it because they're not usually taken seriously due to very harsh stereotypes. There's even been studies on it on UA-cam, the videos always make me so sad.

To be fair even if it is two girls in a relationship there are still strength differences. Every individual has their own strength threshold, society just generalizes it as a man vs woman thing because on average men are stronger than women, but every individual man and women still has their own unique strength level. So even if it is two people of the same gender there can still be issues in terms of one's ability to fight back. For example, how is a 5'4" girl supposed to win a fight against their 5' 11" girlfriend who has a lot of weight on her? Edit: I wrote this comment before I listened to the full thing and Dee already pointed out that she could have still been stronger than her girlfriend.
