Awesome to see similarities and differences we have on the whole process ! As a general contractor, I’m still always learning and love the tips you have! Your quality is mind blowing
Great job. Would love to see a similar video for installing retrofit exterior double doors. Especially if you have an uneven subfloor/concrete base. How you tackle levelling to get the doors to close properly and then trimming out the interior & exterior, etc.
I go through all my hinges beforehand after fighting just the scenario you mentioned here too many times. If it's gaped I pull the pin put it in a vice, and align the barrels. Great informative video, love all your stuff.
I was always taught to shim behind the hinges, I feel like an idiot for not realizing the benefits of not shimming behind the hinges now after so many door installs🤣
Doesn’t allow you to adjust. Since I stopped shimming behind the hinge my installs have definitely gone by quicker when there is adjusting that is needed.
Thanks for taking all the time to make these videos you're helping a lot of people out

So helpful
Why do you not shim behind the hinges? Same on entrance doors?
Doors are a pain I hate messing with them the worst is trying to put a new door in a old jam it’s very frustrating.
Mesures first, then center the doors in the middle.....
Just curious why dont you shim behind the hinge
