I am forever explaining to people that you're paying for more than just the supplies it took to make the item. Once it's broken down for people- all the years of experience, high quality materials (plush yarns aren't cheap man), time to make the item, wear and tear on someone's body/eyesight, tools or learning materials/patterns, etc, they usually are more understanding of what they consider to be a "high" price.

Please don't do this. Please. Artists already have a hard time getting paid fairly for their work. She was so uncomfortable with you haggling with her. Even if you had given her money afterwards, it still sets a bad example towards other people that if you push artists hard enough they will give you discounts against their own volition. Please dont put people in uncomfortable positions just for content. People deserve kindness regardless of whether or not they give into your attempts to haggle.
Edit: it seems people think this comment is against haggling. It's not. I live in asia and I haggle a ton. I have nothing against it as long as it's done in a space where haggling is accepted and the person I'm haggling with is okay with it. But this person is obviously not okay with it. She said no the first few times and even said there's no negotiating so he just blatantly ignored her wishes for content and that's what I have a problem with, especially as other people already tend to undervalue artists so watching this video could make them feel like it's okay to do this with other artists as well.

This isn’t kindness. You made this woman feel so uncomfortable then offered her the payment she already deserved as a way to make it seem better or like kindness. You shouldn’t haggle people then go well I’m just being kind so here’s some extra money, it makes it awkward as hell for them and in that case, that’s a nice encounter she could’ve lived without. You added a cringe memory for her, those ones we look back on and go yikes that happened….
her work is very beautiful
Dude you gave her 30 bucks. That can get her one ball of yarn for crochet
at least she got something extra in the first place, she’s clearly grateful even for that small amount, what are you expecting a thousand bucks?? like money doesn’t grow on trees, even for UA-camrs
@@felilicious9917 lmfao 😂 . bottom feeder, like man who made this video.

@idekk1010ok and? How is it spreading kindness if it’s a decent tip 💀
As my teacher said when I was still studying, refrain huggling prices from craftsman store especially street sellers (not in store) because all products are from their hands and consume time, moreover the costs of the raw materials. Nice watermelon, ice creams, cookies.
I can’t stand these videos! He says “I wanted to bless a vendor today” but first he wanted to haggle the price, and make her uncomfortable. How about just bless them then! 🤷🏼♀️ Your teacher was wise! I don’t make anything with my hands but I’d never haggle someone over theirs! Just plain rude!
Oh my god that little smiling slice of watermelon is just so cute
I was hoping he would've chose the watermelon pieces but he chose an octopus so that was awesome 😎
As an artist. Keep your tip. Wasn’t worth how uncomfortable that would make me
I love her work its truly amazing ❤
As an avid crocheter this felt gross, not kind. Filming yourself make someone super uncomfortable and then turning around and saying your spreading kindness is weird. I wouldn’t want someone posting my discomfort on the internet for views.
Yeah , it’s a super weird video . I’m definitely hitting the do not recommend
This comment has nothing to do with you crocheting, so I'm not sure why you shoehorned that in. Also, nobody cares, you can film whoever you want, if you don't like it, whatever. Deal with it.
That's not spreading kindness at all, that is the epedemy of narcissism!!!
I agree
Yes, it seems like gaslighting.
I want to give her a hug so bad
Wow she was really uncomfortable I feel bad
I would definitely buy from her.. especially because she seems so sweet
I cry every time I get a tip for my crochet pieces 😭💕 people are amazing! You made her day!
You should never ask to lower the price of something handmade by an artist
Its so hard to set boundaries and the concept of a random guy tricking an artist to break their limits
…to ending up rewarding them for so
Is weird to me
I'm proud of her because you could tell it made her uncomfortable to say no but she struck to her guns anyway. She knows her worth and how long it can take to crochet some of the things she makes. Proud of her.
She’s really freaking good at those! And her prices are not expensive at all, there was a pop up tent for them at a fair I went too here in New York and I paid $20 for a small dinky little crochet Pokémon character 😂 those things take time and skill
Bless a vendor by crossing all of her boundaries and making her compromise her way of providing for herself so you can save a dollar on a PLUSH to THEN reward her IF she gives in.
Don't do this.
SHE HAS A REALLY PURE HEART❤️
Love the watermelons - so cute.🍉
Me too
Crocheting can take hours, that probably took her two or three hours but she only charged you $15 which is five dollars an hour for her
Almost what you pay for the yarn
"No it's all good. It's a valid question!" 😍 That's so nice to hear ❤
Man, if you really want to spread kindness just buy from a small business. Don't try to haggle with a person who makes handmade goods. That's just an asshole move regardless of if you give a tip after or not.
Hand crafts are actually really hard this price is lower than average. It's ok to bargain on other stuff but i feel like bargaining on someone's hand work breaks their heart a little. It's like you're saying "that's worth less than the price you have"
🚨FREE SKY FERREIRA🚨
DO NOT do this to small vendors! 😡 it is NOT a yard sale
If anything purchase at reg price and give them the extra during that transaction. Art vendors do not negotiate
he gave her more money
@@madelinekoehl7885 yeah but after giving them a hard time and placing her in a uncomfortable position
