I want to unify all chamfers on my future planes. The best solution is a special tool for that job - double chamfer plane. I've never seen a double side escapement plane with one blade, it looks a little bit weird from below, but works perfect :) I hope you will like it, regards! Materials: piece of beech wood rebate/rabbet plane blade made by E.C.E. boiled linseed oil liquid parafine shellac orange If you have any questions or sugestions just write a comment. Enjoy!
I've noticed on some operations that use multiple planes. It would be helpful to know what those planes are as you use them. I really enjoy watching your videos
"UA-cam haters tears" 🤣 That part made me laugh 😂 This is an unusual plane, an escapement on both sides!!! Ive seen you use it in your newer videos, but this is my first time watching this build....... .I enjoyed it as always Stavros, Thank you Sir!! 😁
I realize this is one of your older videos, but I have been binge watching all your videos for 3 days now, and I am SUPER impressed. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to do a video of making a Plane Float, I haven't found a video of you doing that yet. If there is one please point me to it.
Mate I just finished watching Tod Hurrlie making hollows and rounds. Then up this popped .Awesome job love the way it finished up and the other uninteresting plane too. Really enjoyed that Thanks for putting it up
Really nice, for the finish I have boiled linseed oil and orange shellac but am finding hit hard to harvest the you tube haters tears. Thanks for showing us your new plane.
I like the new paint filled logo. Nice touch.Maybe just a different kind of paint? Or even tinted epoxy? Your chip breakers always seem to work perfectly, mine, not so much lol. Thanks for another great build! Much appreciated. (Yes, I learned much from watching this build, I learn from every build you do, amazing)
Thanks William :) it was failed experiment with white filler, at the end i removed it. I'll never do this again, classic stamps looks way more better. Regards!
Eso, jak zwykle zachwyt nie do powstrzymania....zrób kiedyś film przedstawiający wszystkie strugi zrobione przez Ciebie :) no i na zlot przywieź je wszystkie, żebyśmy mogli doświadczyć wspaniałości pracy nimi 😜
Admirable!
Dear Stavros, yet another beautiful construct. All along I was waiting for you to grind the 30˚ bevels and then you made it work with a straight blade. Clever. The wooden soles do the angle work.
Stavros! Thank you so so much for the sea of inspirations you gifted me and i believe the entire woodworking community .Of course i subscribed to your fantastic channel.Keep on the eellent work .
Dear Stavros, I enjoyed this video and would like to emulate your design for one of my own. What I don’t recall seeing is the final blade and its fitment in the sole. I can’t work out what it looks like and how it fits to plane. What I did see is a blade ground straight across as in a chisel. I guess that would work. Cheers.
Wonderful work. I learn a lot from your videos. Congrats! A question... I suspect you made your name stamps yourself.. would it be possible to show us how to do one? Much appreciated. and all the best!
A number of things: 1) Frickin fantastic! 2) Do you have a beech forest and sawmill out in the backyard? 3) Your family has been making planes for hundreds of years and the gene was passed down to you, right? 4) Again, frickin fantastic!!
Great job the plane looks awesome. Hell of an idea too. Hey maybe one plane that will do a 15, 30, and 45 degrees. One tool for three different chamfers
Love to watch your videos, you are absolutely amazing , so very very talented I have been a Carpenter most of my life, and I would love to be able to do what you can, so amazing .
Hi Stavros. I really like that protractor you use. Seems far more accurate and joy to set up than typical machinist protractors. Did you make it yourself or is it a product you could share with us? Cheers!
Thanks for this great video. Ad usual. What is the method you use three finishes together? Shellac, paraffin oil and boiled linseed oil? How do you apply the three?

@@StavrosGakos Hi Mr Gakos, have you come across "Young Je" on youtube? Yes, you got the point. That's how it works :) Beech is good choice, just use straight-grained quarter sawn blank, and make the sole on the bark side. Good luck:)

Wow, again a nice example of very proficient woodworking👌
