Sorry but putting dislike, u know until u don’t know what real classic community actually want. We want Classic Fresh Progressive server that will have cycle every one year ( 1 year of classic -> 1 year of tbc -> 1 year of wrath.

Is it to see people in the world, is it because you start from zero or because the economy resets? there are ways to replicate this without resetting the server
What wow vanilla/Classic did different and the reason it lives on while all other MMORPG are coming and going is that it was a slug. That slug is not bad, that slug is what is required to create a pride and connection to your characters identity. I know friends through their character aliases in the game and have a relationship with them as they are playing complementary classes and have complementary professions to mine and I realy do not feel like investing weeks-months to create alts to allow myself to do every profession myself for example. As a "casual / high level player" I want MY CHARACTER and i want my friends in the game. To achieve this there is a need for restrictions and time locked annoyances. It is the challenge that make the game. Fuck "Low effort".
This is the most bad idea I ever heard. For such seasonal servers private servers already exists. I'd rather just see vanilla through wotlk season on a 2.5 - 3 year cycle. Not all of us can play all the time and want to play the game the way it was. I'd be okay with a few minor changes for quality of life (aoe looting, dual spec, faction balancing, drop rates to correspond to patch length, and maybe somewhat increased xp) but preserve most of the feel of the game.
I like it, but I think 1 year is a bit too fast. 2-3 years would be ideal. If it were on a 3 year cycle, you might consider a staggering of servers, where the first batch of severs progress to TBC and at the same time a new batch of vanilla servers open, then a 3rd generation of servers open up when the first batch progresses to WOTLK. By "batch" of servers, I really mean 1pvp and 1pve sever, if more than one is needed at all. This way, people can hop on the version of the game they enjoy most, and take their time enjoying it, and they are guaranteed to be able to get back to it on a separate generation of server at any time.
ive wanted this also. I will go even further, imagine rolling a Deathknight in vanilla but have to start at level 1. running deadmines with a dk.... hahaha would be awesome
Rolling reset would be good and personally i wouldn't even bother with forever servers, just wipe the characters and go again at the end of each cycle, makes it easier for blizzard, doesn't split the playerbase
@@RexRaku Scott's ideas for changes are ridiculously extreme, and would never happen. But the core of it is "fresh vanilla, progressing through TBC and then Wrath, on repeat" and I'm here for that. 😊
Maybe it's time to consider classic should be a way to level characters for retail too. No offense to retail, but it takes 3 to 5 hours of no-fun to get to max level these days, at least they could take their time and enjoy ALL the content until getting to the current stuff. Right now you can chose which expansion to level on, it would be awesome if you could actually in classic via progression servers. Everybody keep saying the leveling experience suck, well, there it is.
I'd love this. Maybe give a few more than a couple weeks to level to 60 so we can enjoy the old world leveling, but hyper-speed raid tiers to get to experience all the content in a year would be fantastic.
You took it abit too faar 3x exp (like raf) - rdf - sure, aoe loot - 2x loot from bosses - previous tier loot from vendors - vanilla to wotlk - either 1 year per exp or like 8 weeks per tier so that people acctually have time to do it and half the tier doesn't disapear cus of christmas etc. Same talents as before.
Best imo is wotlk server, (dualspec, lvl locking, new talent tree's instant personal mail all already ingame) u progress from 1-60 at 60 u raid and can only go to tbc if you clear the last raid, you want to stay lvl 60? Lock your lvl at the pvp-npc, the same with wotlk, if not unlocked and u enter the boat to the north you portal back to SW.. each year new content for vanilla, tbc and wotlk so u want to start a fresh run
I would not plat that, I'm not interested in doing that content again and do the same leveling again.. it's why I'm still playing SOD, at least there are difference and new content. But I understand there is an audiance for that but it's not me. I think having progression servers that cycle through expansions however is a good idea, I would even do one that stats with Cataclysm, since a lot of people have never experienced that leveling. But your idea is more like something that could work like MOP remix, having seasonal characters on the retail client.
Personally, I think a 2.5-3 year cycle would be perfect. You'd have to figure out the best way to spread out all of the patches and after the first servers progress to TBC, make TBC Era servers and same for Wrath. I don't really like the idea of changing leveling speed in each version or the other seasonal models you suggested, but i appreciate you sharing ideas.
Let's have a life while combining the recreational bit of gaming in it. Can't rush content like this. People seriously need to drop the min/maxing culture that creates alot of toxicity and ruins the social aspect of the game. When TBC Classic was live I had no time to play it and the content just went on without me. I still would like to play TBC Classic but it needs to be set in a tempo where I can do other stuff through the year without getting left out.
The amount of people asking for it is not that high. And the amount of people that WOULD ACTUALLY play is even lower. As for those handful of reddit posts, most of them are made by the same few people. I've checked post history a few times >.
love this idea but 8 weeks per phase not 3.... most of us have real jobs. but youre right withing 4-6 weeks all 25 people in a raid should have bis and be floating in some casuals and alts.
Absolutely loved Vanilla, Tbc, Wotlk. They were stellar precisely because they felt new, unique and exciting. And yet I never played classic outside of one season of discovery simply because they are not something I’d enjoy doing. Personally, if you go with a 2.0, it’d really have to feel different enough. Alternate some boss mechanics, make the outside world more of an end game focus or take some other drastic step. Then again I’m of the opinion that games shouldn’t feel balanced and damage meters shouldn’t exit so what do I know 😂
Vanilla > TBC > Wrath Then Restart the cycle every three years or just give us 1 PVP & 1 PVE Wrath / TBC servers so we don't have to play on the private servers
The last thing WOW needs is more vanilla, but at least in Scott's example it would be a TBC waiting room unlike the other variants blizzard has on tap.
I like it. I’m thinking 4-5 weeks per phase might be a bit too fast. Maybe 2 months per phase (call it 8 weeks). Could run from Vanilla to ICC in less time than Vanilla Classic ran originally.
Seems like you were maybe influenced by the expedited cata server a lil while back lol. I had lots of fun on there too but the heroic dampening ruined it for our guild sadly.
heck maybe even a "offical" classless classic vanilla-wrath servers. there's a big classless private server bliz can look at for balance'n stuff or extra ideas on how to make a classless server fun. oh wait I forget, bliz hates "fun".
Ngl love this idea I hate that I can't really get into wow nowadays Partly cause of a lack of interest but mostly cause I have no time to play So getting to max level quickly and getting gear quickly would be great But maybe a 3x xp instead of 2x, idk just an idea
No offense but I have no interest in a diablo style seasonal thing. I am not doing all that shit again, attunements, gearing, profession leveling, every three to 6 months.
Can only speak from my own POV but playing tbc-wowlk for the 2nd time was not nearly as enjoyable as the first time. Classes just aren’t that interesting at that point
We don’t need a rerelease for the 3rd time 😂 they need to just make more classic content, splitting the player base more is a bad idea and doing it at this speed is also a bad idea, my entire guild is begging for classic plus and if they don’t deliver soon my guild gonna die l, along with most of my server
I normally really like your stuff but man i disagree with almost every word you spoke here. He is like everyone watning a classic reset should just play cata version for 3 or 4 months each expansion.
This is a pretty good idea. I do think for “identity” reasons shamans and pallies should be confined to their original factions. I also think a super easy fix to the RBG and dungeon finder spam problem is just make it where people can’t use it unless they are not in a town. This would force people out into the world for the good or bad. I think they should nuke flying mounts at the same time. This fixes empty world problem, keeps quality of life that doesn’t kill open world, and keeps most of the class fixes that were input over the years up to cata. I do still think they should add whatever content they built for SOD, and add back in the unique builds (tank lock rogue tank mage healer) to the game in some form or fashion. Casual players don’t just endlessly make new characters and if they do it’s due to a feeling of FOMO or inadequacies (see azamous videos lol), so the variety of specs on each class provides options. I also think the pvp events in ashenvale, STV etc should be added. Possibly do lvl capped phases too.
Highly prefer to take wotlk talents over cata ones. Makes more sense going with this kind of seasonal up to ICC model, and ICC talents allow for more hybrids, build diversity and they feel better while leveling.
After wasting the past 6 years of my life on various pservers, I can tell you that this is basically a cash grab mentality, and the worst idea for the community. The recipe is simple. The faster shit happens in WoW, the faster it becomes a dead server. Slow servers build a core community, and a core community carries the casuals. Fast phases = no core guildies, high retention rate, no one to carry the casuals and noobs = dead server.
Yeah no. Fresh Classic needs to be Vanilla. Bonus xp and other changes hurt the game. The best part of Classic is the journey, the grind, some of the things that seem bad on paper are what make classic amazing. If people want to rush to endgame and pump out parses they should be playing retail. Im all for a Fresh server, that leads into TBC and even Wrath. It should be a touch faster this time around but I don't wanna be rushed through content, let it breathe. If we want major changes, thats what a SOD is for. This should be seen less as a seasonal server and more of a "reset" for classic, since most players that wanted classic don't care for Cata/Mop/ and whatever the hell they're doing with SOD.
This. I respect peoples opinions on this, but I dont see a world where fresh drops with no changes or minimal changes, then after a few weeks players drop off fast. @@MikeyJ232
@@MikeyJ232 I've levelled probably 5 characters to max in Vanilla, and maybe 4 or 5 more to the 40's and you're completely correct. Vanilla is fine the first time around but is boring and unrewarding the more it is done. At least in TBC you get stuff from your reputation from 60-70 or WOTLK from 70-80. Nothing in Vanilla matters until level 50 and even then when you reach 60 you're just at the beginning of a long grind. At max level in the expansions you're well on your way to getting some nice upgrades or access to nice upgrades.
why do you think youre getting a fresh classic? in the middle of these other monotizable versions of wow. Fresh era is a pipe dream while SOD goes on. ya f**kin dreamin
I think that the systems you suggest sound fine for Wotlk but for vanilla and tbc? Having better talents, doing more damage, more quality of life and random dungeon finder wont work for Vanilla and tbc. This just sounds like you want to make Vanilla and tbc more like wrath. I also don't agree on the faster xp rates in vanilla. That whole game is carried by it's leveling. Once the players reach max level then you could speed up the rate the raids relases.
Fresh TBC to WotLK with racial balances so we have both horde and alliance populations. Classic era is there in many other forms. Pace-wise, year to year and a half of one of each. So season is 2-3 years. Your pace is for the incredible minority of you content creators that play for a living, the rest of us (old farts) don't have the time to nolife it on that pace. Agree on bannig GDKP's would be really good imho. You said balance means nothing, that's just wrong. If you have the best players on horde for the racials like you do, then that pulls a lot of the guys to go there just because the population is more skilled on that side (and also you will be a bit better because of the racials). Racials are SOOOOO EASY to fix and I cannot belive there still is a debate about balancing them... Races, I mean, goblins and worgens in TBC... Sacrilege. So, in short: TBC and WotLK seasons, 2-3 years in total, balanced racials, no GDKP. Make Warcraft Great Again.
I love your catch-up method. For people like me, jumping on and off according to the likes or dislikes of certain raids is gold. I love Vanilla MC and BWL but hate AQ and NAXX. Then, in TBC, the only raid I love is Karazhan, and maybe I should do some little ZA. I don't care about the T5 and T6 raids, so I can jump in, get gear from badges doing heroics, do the raids I want, and jump off. I hope Blizz listens to you.
I like this idea alot. I think 52 weeks for all the raids in 3 xpacs may be a little too quick, but the pacing should be quick and not a year and a half per xpac. No one is going to want to raid old tiers once the new tiers come out, and you should be given enough time for a 25man raid get full bis before the next tier comes out. If we wanna make it a causal style seasonal server then you gotta make it so the casuals can get all their gear without leaving them behind because they couldn't play every single week out of the year, which even people who make money playing the game don't do.
Horrible :) This more for content creators then players IMO. I would like things not to be so fast paced, and would prefer if they did the TBC with no flying to keep the classic feeling :) Cheers!

Ngl im not interested in a fresh but if they did something like this, well I might be inclined to try it out
Highly prefer to take wotlk talents over cata ones. Makes more sense going with this kind of seasonal up to ICC model, and ICC talents allow for more hybrids, build diversity and they feel better while leveling.
as long as we get something that is nothing like vanilla. the most boring version i have played to date so far
Personally I wouldnt want most of these things you are saying.
Lets not get through it quick, needs to give us people who work for a living time to play. Also 2x xp is bad. Just keep it original and slow roll it.
Or you could just cancel your sub and go play Turtle wow. It's free, it's better, it's actually classic+, what more could you ask for?
After wasting the past 6 years of my life on various pservers, I can tell you that this is basically a cash grab mentality, and the worst idea for the community. The recipe is simple. The faster shit happens in WoW, the faster it becomes a dead server. Slow servers build a core community, and a core community carries the casuals. Fast phases = no core guildies, high retention rate, no one to carry the casuals and noobs = dead server.
I really like this idea tbh. I'd try it out
i am sorry, but this sounds terrible. RDF in classic and TBC? hell no. 4 weeks per raid? wtf.
I mean, we had fresh classic several times since 2019. I’ll pass on classic. Already been there.
You know what else hurts the game? Everyone quitting after a weekend because vanilla is dreadfully boring and overdone.
This. I respect peoples opinions on this, but I dont see a world where fresh drops with no changes or minimal changes, then after a few weeks players drop off fast. @@MikeyJ232
@@MikeyJ232 doesnt seem like vanilla is for you, stick to retail
@@MikeyJ232 I've levelled probably 5 characters to max in Vanilla, and maybe 4 or 5 more to the 40's and you're completely correct.
Vanilla is fine the first time around but is boring and unrewarding the more it is done. At least in TBC you get stuff from your reputation from 60-70 or WOTLK from 70-80. Nothing in Vanilla matters until level 50 and even then when you reach 60 you're just at the beginning of a long grind.
At max level in the expansions you're well on your way to getting some nice upgrades or access to nice upgrades.
you had me til the cata patch idea
yeahhh no. 1 year per xpac. Preferably more time in vanilla than the other two.
why do you think youre getting a fresh classic? in the middle of these other monotizable versions of wow.
Make Warcraft Great Again.
you had me in the first half ngl
I think blizzard needs to start with wow 2.0 and leave all this old content bollocks behind.
It can never happen as long as people keep paying for retail.
