    I got my dream Colnago C60, with Campagnolo Super Record EPS, Bora tubular wheels, etc, several years back!
    I still ride it today, as it is an awesome looking bike, and "Made in Italy", too!!!

    In summary, Colnago is both retaining tradition AND corroding at it. But keeping the rim brakes going? Wow!

    My dream would be a C60 with campagnolo groupset and wheels with Cinelli bars and finishing kit . Booted with vittoria tyres . Yeah I love Italian bikes and parts .

      Actually I have two . The second is a Cinelli Super Corsa (steel tugged frame) in metalic green with polished lugs with Campagnolo Chorus in silver with Campagnolo Ryde polished aluminium low profile rims with Campagnolo prima hubs in polished silver . Cinelli polished finishing kit . 👌

    After watching Luescher Teknik cut up a couple of C-Series I wasn't particularly impressed with their build quality. Just like with many top-end carbon bikes, you're paying a lot for the brand name and history that doesn't really exist today. Good for Colonago for at least assembling in Italy.

      Yeah, it's no different from other Italian luxury brand items. They all look pretty outside.

    My understanding is that the tubes are made in Italy. Also, you can use certain Deda stem and bar combos if you want some more flexibility.

    About the whole NFT thing... It does not prevent someone stealing your bike but it might make reselling impossible. Soon enough thieves will know which bikes can't be resold hence those will not be stolen anymore. Also when the owner is changed every time to blockchain as the frame gets sold, we will have the full history of each frame = how many owners before you, when it was made etc. I can see how someone buying brand new Colnago might not care so much but I guarantee that none will buy used C68 without getting the NFT which tells you are not buying a stolen bike.

    • @waynosfotos
      @waynosfotos  2 роки тому +1

      I believe the NFT and the block chain coding are two seperate things. The NFT is a unique “AVATAR” you get with the bike. Colnago tried this before at a cost. Didn’t take off. So now you get it with the bike.

    The new bikes do not have Ernesto’s signature, and as he has stated in social media this means that he hasn’t had a part in the bikes development…while he had been instrumental in developing many great bikes for over the years he has gained a huge following of happy cyclists across the globe which is always going to be hard to continue as he steps away….but presumably the Colnago company employ many staff including design and manufacturing teams involved in developing the new bikes using design and manufacturing processes and systems developed in the company so it might be unfair to state that the bike has lost all connections with the past… Ernestos DNA is in the company and staff too… the new bike seems to reflect Colnagos transition away from a family business … linking the traditional lug and assembly processes used in the past with newer developments - 3D printed lugs… so should be an improvement… but for the prices being charged for the new frames for. My part I’ll stick to the older frames which represent more than i need in a bicycle…

    Srarted on Look, junk. Went to Colnago and I've owned the C50, C59 and now ride a C64 (after saving for 2 years). Skipped the C60 my Colnago dealer said its unsuited to Alpine riding. The C64 is just the best balanced of the three but the C50 was the lightest. Rode 6 hours across the Alpes a fortnight back aside from the usual leg tireness no other aches, the C64 is just perfect. Won't be buying the C68 as I think the C64 is just the ducks nuts but I also only buy and have serviced my bikes by the shop I have always bought from.

    I think the potential C68 buyer really wants the integrated cables at the bar. At the end of the day, it's a status symbol and big flex. And don't you dare show any cables on Instagram.

    • @massimofi
      @massimofi 2 роки тому

      Yes. I have several steel Colnagos, one with Campy 12s weights 7,7kg, and the only reason I would be switching to carbon is the fully integrated cables. Sounds ridiculous but I never liked the looks of carbon bikes before the cables disappeared completely so for me that is a must. I do not even own instagram :D

    The new bike is beautiful for sure, but they forwent the lug design, bar and stem and round seat post. The side effect is this will make older models more sought after and we know what that does.

    Colnago bikes are beautiful but I can't picture myself being involved into a NFT scam, I commute on a bike as well for environmental reasons and it would be contradictory. Now the 3D printed parts are something interesting. I think it's overpriced given the weight.

    For a lot of years Colnago was a dream bike for me. Finally my local Colnago bike shop offered me a deal on a M10 I couldn't refuse. I loved how the bike rides. The geometry was me. I owned it and sold it after 3 years and I wanted a new bike because I don't trust carbon beyond that so I went for the custom made frame from a US builder. I sent him the Colnago's geometry only instead of the 54cm I had him upsize it to a 55cm. Now the bike is more sized to my needs and the geometry is still that Colnago geometry and it rides like that M10 did. I got the unpainted frame made and shipped to my door for just under $4500. If I ever have an issue with this frame the builder is right here in my country and is one heck of a good guy that I've had many conversations with. Heck if I wanted to I could go to Bozeman, Montana and ride with him because he loves to ride bikes. As for NFT's and ownership I think I have all the prof I need right there that this bike is mine and if I were to sell the bike I could contact Carl, the builder, and simply tell him who the new owner is. NFT's WTF, dumbest idea anybody has ever invented and doesn't guaranty worth or value. I think ultimately the name Colnago is going to get lost in conversation because in the cycling circles nobody but the filthy rich are going to own the new ones so you won't see many if any around. I feel the same as you, if you are going to pay that premium you should go with another brand preferably local to your country. As far as I'm concerned Colnago as a brand can stay in Italy.

      I'm in the same "boat" with two builders in the area. I really couldn't get into a "lugged" carbon frame until I added in the value of repair. Replacing a tube is easier and faster than trying to patch. That's one of the benefits of steel or aluminium frames. As to the value of an NFT, nope. It's a gimmick. And it doesn't belong with a high value bicycle frame. As to electronic locking, why not? If it can be disabled, sure. I can look at my auto and see the value.

    White glove ? Delivery with your fit … no it does work that way here in Msia … it’s not cut to your fit and it’s the bike dealers that do most of the work which is nothing much actually. They work with sizes mainly. So for the price you pay here RM 40,000 it’s not worth it cause fitting is not to your comfort
