- For the explanation of a bad team the UEFA coefficient list is used to have an objective look at the level of a team. This doesn't mean I think the team is bad. It means they haven't performed in European football in recent years. Not my opinion. Enjoy!

Technically Royale Union Saint - Gilloise shouldn't have drawn with the same team they have be drawn from the first place that mistake UEFA should have noticed am i the only person that has seen it was wrong draw in this match Union Berlin should have face a different team not RUSG.

@nikitazaikin6382 there is no mistake because USG won their group and they advanced to round of 16 while Union Berlin had to play in round of 32 with a team going down from Champions league. And Union Berlin beat Ajax in the round of 32 and advanced to round of 16 where every team can be drawn with anyone even if they are from the same country or they were from the same group!

Yeah, but finishing last without even Europa League is such a criminal. They should be in third because they won by 2 goal margin, but the head-to-head goal difference was used, meaning Benfica went ahead with 1 point.

Can someone please explain exactly WHY Leipzig were the worst team to ever win their group?
All clubs which have played European football in the last five years are ranked in the UEFA coeffient rankings. Since Leipzig was relatively new they had a really low score on this ranking system. That's why they are objectively a 'bad' team in the Champions League since they haven't done well in it.

They determine in which pot each team gets drawn, so they are important in some way.

The title is a bit misleading
I understand where you are coming from, but this is the only way to objectively identify a 'bad' team. If I start handpicking team myself and call them bad it feels kinda disrespectful to those teams and fans of those teams. So that's why I used UEFA Coefficient rankings to determine which teams are 'bad'.
