Meditation. Look at the headspace studies. It's even more effective than exercise for the mind. Of course if you can do both, that's even better. But if you can't exercise, then meditation is a great option still.
This is very misleading. You have to take in to consideration how the participants felt about exercise in the first place, there beliefs on if they didn't exercise.
