All that needed to be said was already said. This moment was about the floodgates of rage being opened. Gohan losing himself to the rage he feared. Gohans original silence before he turns ssj 2 was needed, it shocked him that he was at a loss of words. Idk why in english dub he has a mini speech before transformation.
FUNimation had a bad habit of adding dialogue in originally silent moments due to the members thinking that kids wouldn't be entertained if there was silence. That's why the music rarely stopped playing as well.
@@casualvanilla No, that's not why at all. Funimation decided to add to the scene to increase build up and tension, which totally works for a majority of the western audience in the early 2000's. "And you were just an Android...I let you die...I can't do that...I feel it slipping" These words are key to informing us Gohan is snapping along with the red line, it hits FAR harder. Try looking at the scene from a different perspective and see why it sent goosebumps. The Japanese choice was great as well, but this was a good direction just as much.
@@atari_hmb The problem is that the dialogue is unnecessary. The audience can tell that Gohan has snapped hard based on his silence alone. @@Cellmate Trunks going SSJ for the first time (The music always gives me chills and the moment is one of my favs from DBZ), Vegeta's final flash (this is debatable), Goku going SSJ for the first time, Cell vs Gohan Kamehameha battle, Goku's speech against Freeza, Vegeta's sacrifice and there are plenty of others. I suggest watching the show with original soundtrack or even in original japanese, it really is amazing and underrated by American fans of Dbz.
You know, I like Faulconer's music and all, but this captures the emotion of this scene better. There's silence as 16 speaks and as he dies, the music picks up. And there shouldn't have been an internal monologue for Gohan, just pure shock and rage.
This is the best clip of this scene I have found anywhere. Japanese music with the english dub is phenomenal. Absolutely love it, thank you! Part of my get hyped for gaming line-up every time.
I'm certain most DVD releases have the Japanese score at least. Although this song won't be included if you use that option. There will be just voices and sounds, no music in this scene.
There are people who still do not understand what the bird means, for those: the bird symbolizes Gohan's innocence, and the red line symbolizes a shot, it is the murder of innocence and the end of Gohan's childhood
this is absolutely amazing. My favorite transformation in the DBZ series with Japanese music. I been wanting to see this for so long. Thank you so much for uploading. Much respect
Japanese audio better... English dumbs it down way too much. Plus I don't think the voice acting is as great as all that (Compare to Pixar dubbing for example).
Idk why but to me piccolo saying "gohan" brings it together for me. You can hear in his voice the concern for him. All jokes aside with Goku being a bad father we know he loves his son but we all know piccolo cares more for gohan. That's a fact. But that 1 word from piccolo contrast so well with the scene.
Fun fact: in the Mexican dub, there was no music or the inner monologue. Just dead silence, only with Gohan screaming and the sound effects. Dare I say it’s on par with the original Japanese dub.
Say what you will, but I think that the scene is better with the Japanese music. I think it adds more emotion to the scene.
To me it's epic either way :D

@@Cellmate Trunks going SSJ for the first time (The music always gives me chills and the moment is one of my favs from DBZ), Vegeta's final flash (this is debatable), Goku going SSJ for the first time, Cell vs Gohan Kamehameha battle, Goku's speech against Freeza, Vegeta's sacrifice and there are plenty of others. I suggest watching the show with original soundtrack or even in original japanese, it really is amazing and underrated by American fans of Dbz.
Should have kept the Japanese roar though.
Lol who else is here after watching Gohan Beast transform?
2:03 the most epic scream "I won't watch this anymore"
This is the best version of this. Nothing will beat this
You know, I like Faulconer's music and all, but this captures the emotion of this scene better. There's silence as 16 speaks and as he dies, the music picks up. And there shouldn't have been an internal monologue for Gohan, just pure shock and rage.
I feel the monologue fits well. We get to hear Gohan's thoughts before he finally explodes. I feel it was well done.
"It is a secret we have known before gohan could even form words in his mouth.."
Make a man choke right up
I love how Stephanie Nadolny voiced kid Goku, Gohan and Goku Jr.
and goten too
In my opinion, Dragon Ball Z is the most masculine anime I have seen!
This scene gotta be the greatest of all Dragon Ball sagas ! Just pure perfection
Omg the music.
This is the best clip of this scene I have found anywhere. Japanese music with the english dub is phenomenal. Absolutely love it, thank you! Part of my get hyped for gaming line-up every time.
Al the episodes are better without the Bruce falconer shit!
I like how the narrator mentioned the villains out of order lol
The Funimation dub being completely silent besides the monologue was an utterly insane decision.
I Like The Dub and the japenese version but the music they should of left it but i still like the both of them
Let it go, Let it go....! As Elsa already said.
Just got the season 1 & 2 dvd releases and realized theres an option for "English dialogue with Japanese music" that's awesome!
I'm certain most DVD releases have the Japanese score at least. Although this song won't be included if you use that option. There will be just voices and sounds, no music in this scene.

🎗️💯
Gohan's greatest moment...just think how things would have turned out if it became HiS show afterwards like it was supposed to😭
There are people who still do not understand what the bird means, for those: the bird symbolizes Gohan's innocence, and the red line symbolizes a shot, it is the murder of innocence and the end of Gohan's childhood
Why couldn't it be more famous!?
This is epic!
2:04 when you finally beat that boss
this is absolutely amazing.
Really l, I mean, I can’t even tell their emotion when Japanese people talk. Plus they kinda sound repetitive.
Chills everytime 🥰
Fuckkkkk....I LOVE THIS VID😎🙏
Yeah that music is awful. I'm sorry. I get why people like it but I prefer the original.
Luckily for you nobody asked
That song goes hard
“Yet another fighter you could’ve saved” a line by Cell I think is overlooked & what really set Gohan off
NO TENÍAS XQ METERTE EN ESTO, SIEMPRE FUISTE UN INÚTIL
This is the best version of this scene around
RIP Toriyama
This vid...a conecction....this is how we learn to live above our..demons....we can't defeat them....this.is why.we.rise..😎😎
One of the few scenes that I prefer the Japanese OST over the Bruce Faulconer's soundtrack. This is a masterpiece! 👌🏼
Gohan: * Starts to go Super Saiyan 2 *
Cell: Why do I hear boss music that isn't mine?
Ta weno el grito uwu
Fun fact: in the Mexican dub, there was no music or the inner monologue. Just dead silence, only with Gohan screaming and the sound effects. Dare I say it’s on par with the original Japanese dub.
At the beginning I honestly couldn’t tell if this was the abridged version.
Who's here after DBZ Abridged Episode 60?
english dub is horrible, it makes the scene bad
SaMuRai WR Sorry not everyone likes HATATATATA!!!!, KkKKKkkK!!!, and San after every time they say a name.
Tony
Sounds way worse. Use Gohans anger
That shits overrated garbage.
Gohan: ....and you were just an Android.
Haha what's that suppose to mean
Basically, although he had no soul, Android 16 very soul consumed with love for life and nature; he was a gentle giant.
Nobody's heard of an opinion from what I always see in videos concerning DB's various soundtracks.
God i get chills from watching this
This is fucking lit 🔥
I felt like I was a lot like Gohan growing up and this bit always gives me the chills.
Your spirit feels that, awaken your true power brother!!
