Oh Wholly Cow. I remember this, we had it on VHS when I was growing up. That part in the song "Mother Goose stories and Mother Goose rhymes make magical memories and wonderful times." Has been stuck in my head for over 30 Years and now I just randomly found it again. 😄👍
I have looked for years for this show. I’ve never been more happy as my 37 year old self watches the show I used to love before life got hard. I can’t wait to sit down tomorrow and watch with my little boy. Thank you for giving me a piece of my childhood back.
I remember these. Had yhem on video tapes and probably still do. My favorites were the pease porridge and london bridge. Heck, to this day, 20 years laters and I still just hummed them to this day. The cadence of the porridge one is great for long runs
I remember watching these when I was around three or four years old. My mom would put them on before my bedtime, and I’d hug my dad goodbye before he went to work (he did third shift at the time). Now that I watch them as an adult, I give my mother a lot of credit for putting up with these videos 😂
Oh! I loved this video series when I was a kid! An aunt of mine recorded all four shows on one tape for me to enjoy with my sister, and we practically watched it over and over again. My memories and nostalgia for the Mother Goose Treasury are very, very strong. The music was well orchestrated, the characters were excellent, and I especially loved Bertram, the helpful goose. Honk! Honk! May Mother Goose’s treasury live on!
R.I.P. Hal Smith (1916-1994) (Old King Cole), Ron Gans (1931-2010) (Spider), Van Snowden (1939-2010) (Humpty Dumpty / Townsperson of Gooseberry Glen) and Will Ryan (1949-2021) (Bertram the Gander) (voice).
I remember my Elementary School showed us Volume 1 of Mother Goose's Treasury during my Kindergarten years. I honestly prefer this type of Nursery Rhyme videos over the "UA-cam Kids" type Nursery Rhymes any day!
1:30:31 Gregory Griggs: Hello, Bertrum. What do you think of this one? 1:31:48 Gregory Griggs: That's the fun of wigs, Bertrum. I can put on and pretend to be somebody else.
1:01:27 King: Hello, Bertrum. 1:01:36 King: Ohh. Well, err, what's the matter with you? 1:01:51 King: Umm... well, err, take one of mine. There are lots of stores and rides.
