Sarah Young I remember I watched this when I was a kid,at my grandmother's about 7 or 8 yrs. That hop to it song stuck with me all these years. I don't know why but that song just popped in my head and I looked it up on youtube and was stoked to find it. Nostalgia all the way.
I can't believe I've found this. So grateful you uploaded this it is the definition of nastalgia for me I'm 38 now and can remember loving this so much when I was a kid
I'm just glad to hear I am not the only person who thought they may have imagined this movie. I have random memories all the time about this movie and now I know that it truly exists!!
OMG!!! I can’t believe this!!! I used to LOVE this when I was a kid. For years I tried to remember the name of it. No one knew what I was taking about ! Thank u ❤
It’s honestly a fever dream watching this! I randomly starting singing “hop to it, don’t delay, hop to it…” and in my head I’m thinking “where is that from?!?” One search on google and I found this video. All the memories from my childhood came flooding back to me at midnight on a Sunday THANK YOU FOR THIS 🫶🏻
This movie, purple people eater, Harry and the Henderson's, Adventures in Dinosaur city, are you afraid of the Dark?, Doug, Adventures of Pete and Pete, snick, all that, the back to the future movies, Erie Indiana, Alex Mack, pee wees playhouse, ninja turtles movies and cartoons, with some Michael Jackson music in there, was my entire childhood, from 1988-1996 (3 years old-11, I enjoyed a lot)
Love love love this movie! Very much over the kids' heads in a lot of parts ;) I always loved the Paul Simon/Simple Simon part. A huge memory from my childhood!
I remember watching this when it first aired on the Disney channel and loved it I even had a video store vhs screener copy of this for mine years that was a slightly longer cut wish I still had that one
This is why being a child in the 80s/90s was best! Life was about having fun and learning! Nowadays I bet children don't even know what a Mother Goose nursery rhyme is..smh..this movie was a huge part of my families upbringing. Where did the time go? I miss it so much!😢
Remember watching this in my 2nd grade class when I was about 7, 8. My teacher must have recorded it the night prior and I loved it. This was a time when you see a TV set first thing when you walk in the classroom and get excited. Huge Stray Cats fan but, didn't know of them at the time.
Oh, and thank you kindly MariahCaey1088 for uploading this. If I wasn't a young adult when I saw this I would think, as many other younger viewers have, that I had just dreamt the whole thing.
You need an all star cast like this, though its impossible to find a cast with talent likes them plus some of sadly passed on and doing a special like this today would have technology or have it in cgi animation
Cannot help but be in awe as this comes on (and finally) rolls the credits of who will be in the film- amazing! Every time, amazing! I always think its so cool when a project has so many big-name stars (of the time) together. Doesn't even matter if it turns out any good or not- just the fact that they got so many recognizable(s) in one place at one time. Nice~ thanks for uploading!
Actually, I'm pretty sure Booby Brown played all three mice. Yep, back in the day when trick photography can make you look like you're more than one person in more than one place, back in the day when Bobby Brown could dance and wasn't on drugs.
Thank you for uploading this my uncle Mark Curtis along with Rod Ash wrote these. I have pictures of me with Shelley Duvall on the sets of each one. Thank you ! 😊😊
I love this movie! Thank you for sharing! I work at a day care/nursery school and am shocked when children are oblivious to nursery rhymes. This will help out immensely.
is great to see again this film, i remember i saw it in México when Disney Channel was in english, in my grandphaters house there was only 2 tv's and one day i had the gift to see this complete, everybody used to see their favorite tv shows and in those moments the television programming broadcasted this, and is a surprise to see that Shelley Duvall is the actress from the famous movie from the story by Stephen King, "The Shinning"
Thanks so very much for posting this version of Mother Goose Rock N' Rhyme! One of the reasons why I like this version is that during the end credits, we get to hear the longer version of Little Richard's song Party with the King.
R.I.P. Vance Colvig Jr. (1918-1991) (Dungeon Warden), Eadie Del Rubio (1921-1996) (Special Guest Appearance), Elena Del Rubio (1921-2001) (Special Guest Appearance), Seymour Heller (1914-2001) (Special Guest Appearance), John Santucci (1940-2004) (All The King's Men), Milly Del Rubio (1921-2011) (Special Guest Appearance), Jean Stapleton (1923-2013) (Mother Goose), Paul Daniels (1938-2016) (Special Guest Appearance) Garry Shandling (1949-2016) (Jack (of Jack and Jill), Harry Anderson (1952-2018) (Peter Piper), Little Richard (1932-2020) (Old King Cole), Dusty Hill (1949-2021) (Three Men in a Tub), Shelley Duvall (1949-2024) (Little Bo Peep) and Terri Garr (1944-2024) (Jill (of Jack and Jill).
This, thankfully, is the original full-production version as it should be. However, it's DISNEY's "Mother Goose's Rock & Rhyme". At least originally. I recorded this on VHS sometime after it's original airing and have enjoyed turning unsuspecting people on to it over the years. Unfortunately the recording has degraded and finding the complete original broadcast version is very difficult. And I find myself quoting a lot of the lines!
"Why you? Why not!" Wow I still remembered the words to the first song after 30 years. This is the kind of program that sears itself into a child's consciousness.
The only thing I ever remembered from this was Little Richard as Old King Cole. It was why I always liked him growing up, and it was always what I remembered when I heard his music, even as an adult who had NO IDEA what this was because it was so foggy in my memory! 😆
when i see kids watching weird shit i will never say anything about them ever again because i use to watch this and then rewind it. We had to wait for this to REWIND!!
Haven't seen this for like 20 years...I've always had the hop to it song stuck in my head years after. After re watching many parts are still familiar and it was cool to see that zz top and stray cats were in it as well! I wouldn't have known who they were back then
I like how, in the Bobby Brown "Three Blind Mice" dance sequence, the writers threw the "Hop to It" motif in there for good measure. Smart move, songwriters!
I believe it played on Disney, many a time. tat that time quality tv Disney had a logo on the bottom right corner ( box with lines and the mouse inprint) most of these actors were probably budding comedians, think of the set back then. Gordon and some magic lettuce. Disney 1986- 1992 Fairy Tale Theatre, The Torkelsons, Avonlea, Mother Goose Rock n Ryhme and Lunchbox with Quaaak the duck on at noon. hop to it! dont delay! hop to it better make it today! Gordon.... always was a stick in the mud.

I genuinely thought I was having a fever dream and completely forgot about this movie until just now and had to google it to make sure it was real because explaining it to my friends mad me look crazy 😂😂
Dragonrider1227 I like to think of it as unique! I enjoy things that are bit "off". I always thought it was really cool that all these guest stars were in it! Not that I'm recommending that, but........
I'm 36 years old, sitting here quietly doing the NY Times Crossword Spelling Bee. One of the answers is 'Tuffet' and all of a sudden I have a flashback to some crazy visuals of my childhood of something that surely doesn't exist. But fuck me dead... here it is.
It’s easy to forget now but Bobby Brown was a HUGE star in 1990...crazy to think he would take a bit part in a made for tv kids movie at the time...maybe he was forced to do it through his label, or maybe he needed money bad (we know why that would be...)
This movie is INSANE! But I loved it when I was a kid. I never ever noticed Gordon trying to sneak a peak at Little Bo Peep's little bo peep at 19:50 That's freakin hilarious! I think it got cut from this version, but when the old lady in the shoe says "Wait till your fathers get home," I never thought twice about what "fathers" being plural implied. This movie is a trip
I wrote about both versions of this movie for college last year or two years ago. I was basically asking Disney to officially get both versions of this on DVD. I got 100 percent. I also have both of them too.
It took me this many years to finally find out this was a real movie and not something I imagined as a toddler.
That's the funniest shit I've ever heard! Watch the movie purple people eater next, yes that is Dustin Diamond and NPH in the movie as kids! Lol
Don't Touch My Silver
Sarah Young just thought the same EXACT thing !!!!!!
That describes how I feel about The Peanut Butter Solution.
Sarah Young I remember I watched this when I was a kid,at my grandmother's about 7 or 8 yrs. That hop to it song stuck with me all these years. I don't know why but that song just popped in my head and I looked it up on youtube and was stoked to find it. Nostalgia all the way.

Big facts. This movie is a 💎
I'm just glad to hear I am not the only person who thought they may have imagined this movie. I have random memories all the time about this movie and now I know that it truly exists!!

Kenzi Labron your not the only one
Same, but was more than old enough that I should remember.

I am eternally grateful to you for uploading this. Childhood favorite, and so rare!
I remember this movie like a fever dream. Haven't seen it in over 20 years, but I still remember everything.
I've been looking for this movie for a long time. It's haunted me ever since I was 7 years old!
Love love love this movie! Very much over the kids' heads in a lot of parts ;) I always loved the Paul Simon/Simple Simon part. A huge memory from my childhood!

OMG!! I still remember all of the songs; 28 years later!!

Oh, and thank you kindly MariahCaey1088 for uploading this. If I wasn't a young adult when I saw this I would think, as many other younger viewers have, that I had just dreamt the whole thing.
Why don't they make stuff like this anymore? It's way better than what kids watch now days.

This was the first time Little Richard entered my conscious as a 4 year old in 1990. I can still remember the exact scene. Awesome.
RIP
i was the same age in 1990 4
This is the original version that aired on the Disney channel.
this and pee wee’s big adventure shaped me so much
Blast from the past!!!! Thank you for uploading this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bobby Brown was one of the 3 blind mice… loved that part. Gordon come out and play was a favorite of mines as well. Man I miss these days

Thanks so very much for posting this version of Mother Goose Rock N' Rhyme! One of the reasons why I like this version is that during the end credits, we get to hear the longer version of Little Richard's song Party with the King.
After the Shining, Shelley Duvall has gone from doing horror movies into children's movies and shows. That was a nice change in her career.
She is one of my favorite comediennes and so is Teri Garr.
I grew up to this! This makes me the happiest to see
Little Richard gave me nightmares watching this as a child. Well, this whole movie did. Can't believe I found it. Oh UA-cam 😂😂
He was super. So evil a laugh. I love these old kids films. So glad I got scared unlike kids today they will never experience it.

my all time childhood fav!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for this!
Wowww. I actually found it. For some reason the hop to it song popped in my head and I just could not get it out. So nostalgic.
the music in this one is so much better than the uncut version
I agree
While that is so, I do prefer the uncut version. The scenes left in make more sense.
thank you for uploading this!!! it is so hard to find. i remember watching this over and over when i was a kid :)
Omg I've Been Trying To Find This For Forever !! Thank You For Uploading It !! 😍😍
I still reference this movie at least once every 2 months
HOLY COW finally i found it i watched this over and over again on a taped VHS so awesome and so 90s
I’m so thankful you uploaded this
I remember watching this when I was little! But I never realized how mean Gordon was! Geeze
i havent seen this move in YEARS!!! THANK YOU!!!

***** I realized that after I posted it lol
Yes 😊
Man I watched some trippy stuff back then!!!! But I LOVED it!!!!
Probably the reason so many people our age do drugs, bc they want to see this again in reality
"Why you? Why not!" Wow I still remembered the words to the first song after 30 years. This is the kind of program that sears itself into a child's consciousness.
OMG!!! Thank you! This show is so 80s and weird.
The acting from the dungeon band is ridiculously over the top, but I love it!
I use to watch this all the time with my kids! Its great for kids and adults and is loaded with celebs. I loved seeing it again!!
I grew up watching this. Thanks so much for posting it! :)

You can hear the VHS crackle. Well done.
Now make it 37 people that never hopped to it and never really learned to play and have always been a stick in the mud.
ALWAYS been a stick in the mud.
I absolutely loooooooooove this movie!!!! Brings me back to my childhood. Thanks for uploading

I caught this one time when I was five years old, and then watched the VHS til it was run into the ground.
So much nostalgia. oh man.
Little Richard is the ultimate legend
I like how, in the Bobby Brown "Three Blind Mice" dance sequence, the writers threw the "Hop to It" motif in there for good measure. Smart move, songwriters!

So do I. In fact I double agree.
Man, we watched some weird crap back in the day. But I wouldn't have it any other way XD
Dragonrider1227 I like to think of it as unique! I enjoy things that are bit "off".
I always thought it was really cool that all these guest stars were in it!
The music, the scenes and decor, the colors and the twisted versions of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes.

It was the dungeon scene for me
ZZ top was my favorite part.
I still cant believe that Woody Harrelson plays the sheep
He does a great job with his voice, you’d certainly never think of Woody from Cheers. 😆
This was my movie, as a kid!!! 😃 Hop To It was the jaaaam! 🎶🎶
