Love this! Perfect arrangement and parody of the "float on" by The Floaters (1977). Love everything about this skit. I loved watching Sesame Street as a kid too, eventhough this skit was a little before my time. ❤
When Bob hits that high note staring at 1:20 time and space coalesce into a cosmic love-pulse matrix, becoming a technicolor interpositive. I love singing about the number 5.
When you're talking "classic Sesame," you're talking "Gimme Five!" "Gimme one, two, three, four/But if you love me more..." That’s one of the greatest song lines ever written! Three of my friends and I would "perform" this in elementary school in the play yard. I took Bob's part because I favored falsetto! 👋5️⃣

Bob McGrath was always my favorite on Sesame Street. I grew up watching that from 1977 until he left the series 2016. Bob joined the cast in 1969 but I was in fact born on May 5, 1977, so I was basically between the ages of I guess you could say a month old till about. 39. So I basically have loved Bob McGrath for 39 years.
Bob McGrath was and always will be my favorite male human from Sesame Street. I wasn’t born until May 1977 so I wasn’t there for the years 1971 through early 1977. But since then since when I was born in 1977 I have loved Bob ever cents. Him and the other three doing give me five was great and I always loved Bob’s parts. Those of you who said that Bob’s pants were too tight, well come on it was the 70s that’s what it was supposed to be about.
This is back when SS was amazing. I am so glad I got to see this grwoing up in the 70s and 80s. No longer is this the case with SS today. Once they brought Elmo in, started doing things to the characters and then moving new episodes to HBO, it's become a dead show. Too bad because it was great.
yeah; my thoughts too; As Elmo increasingly had a greater role to play, the show slowly moved away from what everyone regards as Classic Sesame Street. In my late childhood, I found Elmo irritating, even then.
Yeah true. I was watching with my kids; and this there is literally, literally hardly any content involving other characters, human or Muppet 0 it's 85% Elmo. They should just call it "Elmo's Street" now.
These were definitely the golden years for Sesame Street. That said, the Cookie monster parody shorts, if movies, are brilliant. Cookie is still awesome.
