Dashes are connecting words to make sense of the sentence. That’s all I know.

Thank you for this excellent content! The correct use of the apostrophe make all difference in English, and people have made a lot of mistakes by using it incorrect.
So,it is very important to fix up all of those the oldest mistakes that are breaking down the good English.
Learning made easy, glad I watched these videos. I will continue to take notes, repeat watching these videos, and try to write better. Thank you, Alvin.
P.S. I'm still frustrated; but I think I can get better at writing, with your help.

Hi
Incredibly good way of teaching. Equally good accent 💞
Love your teaching
Wow! What a wonderful teaching. Explained in detail .
Best teacher ever💗
Thank You SO MUCH, for your time and dedication to this series. (I probably made a few punctuation mistakes in this paragraph, so I apologize. Hence, the reason why I’m here!).
Now, I’m still never quite sure on how many spaces after a period, (is it one or two? We were taught to use only one space after a period, in writing class, MANY MANY MOONS AGO, however, when we were taught “typing / computer-data processing, we were told to use TWO spaces, after a period !?)
Also, I’m never sure of the correct amount of space(s) to use, before or after an exclamation mark/question mark, and before or after, brackets.
Your professionalism, time, and attention to detail is impeccable! …hence the reason, I ‘liked’ this video, and Subscribed to your channel, from here on forward. Thank You So Much

Thank you for your presentations. My attempt to learn Spanish helped me realize that there's a lot that I do not understand about English and other languages. Thanks for sharing, gracias
De nada! 🤩
@Sparkle English do we use apostrophe for non living thing..
thank you so much!!!! I love your videos
God bless you! Maybe my dream is still possible!
Hello Ms. Sparkle English, I have a question on apostrophes : which is the correct way to go, in the '80s or in the 80's?
Regards
Apostrophes used in contractions indicate the location of the missing part(s). Since 19, for example, is missing from 1980s, the apostrophe goes where the missing 19 would have been located. Thus, '80s is your answer.
@@davidmcglumphy2240 huge thanks, Teacher!!
Thank you , you helped me
Thanks for improving my writing.
A detailed and informative lecture on apostrophe
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Hello, I suggest making a video on hyphemation, adjectives and the like
Regards
Even though you don’t add an extra S after the apostrophe, you would still pronounce Thomas’ /tomasiz/ ( Ex: St.Thomas’ Hospital in London). Phonetically speaking, the S is optional or omitted more often than not, with surnames ending in S like Roberts, Williams, Connors, or Adams.
just use aposteophe in the end I.E, ADAMS' OR CONNORS'
Thanks so much, my English is improving.
Wow this video is very useful
Respected Ma'am, being the greatest grammarian in the world, you are earnestly entreated with folded hands to let me know if the following sentence is grammatically correct or not -The bi-cycle is a month's old.
Thanks for this video☺️

I just watched the whole series. Thank you so much for, in my case, the refresher course. I am wanting to apply for online proofreading work. i would love to see you make a video on your other channel that shows how to go about proofreading. Is it straight through once or should one check several times? Also, I'm wondering if I can use the Virtual Audio Cable on independent online companies? Thank you Jennifer!
HERE IS TIPPINB MY BROWN STETSON HAT for SPARKLE ENGLISH!!! CRYSTAL CLEAR VOICE AND PRISTINE PHRASING INDEED!!!

greatly helpful
This really helps because I have a test next week
Thanks for your hard work; really appreciate it
I was wondering if you could do a video on complex sentences, run on sentences and fragments.
I've studied your commas video, but I'm not sure if that covers these topics. :/
Thank you!
Thank you so much for the video. It is so educative. anyway, could you please assist with the following usage of apostrophe as to which one is correct: 1. SCHOOL'S BUS OR SCHOOL BUS? 2. SOMEONE DAUGHTER'S FINGER OR SOMEONE'S DAUGHTER'S FINGER?
Appreciate the way the lesson was presented! The topic itself was interesting where many learners would hesitate while handling the possessive of compound words. One small suggestion: at places your speed of delivery could have been a bit slower.
Great Class !!!
Thanks !!
I’m old school, so I’d always write: Thomas’ birthday and not the new ‘accepted’ way: Thomas’s birthday.
love the list of contractions, but feel you have left-out one of the most common 'You're (You are).
EXCELLENT tutorials...
Thank you ! 🌹
Very informative.

Hey! How can we express ownership when an object belongs to another one? Like: The roof of the house, the house's roof? The door of my bedroom, the bedroom's door?
EXCELLENT question. Stay tuned for a video soon on this!
@@SparkleEnglish Awwww thank you!!! That will certaintly make my life easier! ;)
the main thing to know or memorize in that (whose is used when we say whose car is that? ) ( who's stands for who is e.g who's going to Anas birthday.

Hi, Jennifer. I'm just curious if you don't mind. Maybe, you commit a typo error? please see your example. My mother-in-law's cooking skills ARE incredible. Should we not use the be verb IS because we use a singular noun? Please help me clear my mind. Thanks.
Hello! In this example, we are referring to the cooking skills (skills = plural).
My mother-in-law IS incredible.
My mother-in-law's cooking skills ARE incredible.
@@SparkleEnglish Thank you, Jennifer, for clearing my mind. I was too focused on my mother. Your such a great teacher.
I bought a sign Lois’s kitchen of Etsy , it should have read Lois’ kitchen .
How many times would I have to practice these english skills? A lot.
I have some question, "Is this American English? If it is! Is the British English different from ths rules?
Ma'am can we use apostrophe for non living things if show possession. Because I have read somewhere that u cant ?
Good English
Is it correct to say:
I hold a bachelor's and a master's degree,
or should I say: degree+s,
or maybe: bachelor's degree and master's degree??
I’m here because I’m preparing for the teas exam
So you are Jennifer. I got it. Haha
a very helpful video thank you. But I have a question please, what if in the fourth case "apostrophes with joint ownership" I want to replace one of the names with "me" I mean myself, or with a pronoun? shall I say my and dad's shop ( is that correct )? and her and Steve's wedding (was that correct?)
😊
My maiden name was Jones and I never could figure out how to say the plural, Joneses (like the Smiths) or the plural possessive, Joneses's (Joneses', like the Smiths's or the Smiths').
