Thank you for letting us into the world of classical guitar attributes. Bravo for making it enjoyable for lovers of the art who aren’t educated but wish to be.
These videos are so good for the classical guitar world, and for the music world alike. I look forward to these - you guys have a great dynamic and always enjoy seeing the new luthiers and instruments. Cheers you all!
I love what the siccas team is doing over there, so many more individual's are exposed to this style of playing and classical guitar in general because of their work👍
Bravo gentleman! Wonderful presentation, and such a joy to my ears. Siccas Guitars and all on this channel are a true gift to the world. Much gratitude
Those three guitars sounds like three different people . Tone colour, timbre, response to touch, balance, dynamic, exquisite appearance. The voice of first guitar I would describe as low femail with very warm high notes. Definitely amazing everything 😍
Wow, so beautiful sound of a guitar,? I wish I could buy and own one again.I stopped playing classic guitar ,someone borrowed my Harmony years ago, then broke it, alas, I cant afford one now.I can play before like Recuerdo de la Alhambra, some Segovia, etc.I play rock, blues, in my Gibson, but in my age now, Im 76, I love playing classic and old music. Those guitars are great, GOD BLESS
OMG I love the overtones of the Tobias Braun. I prefer the more traditional sound of this guitar and the little devil on my shoulder was talking to me LOL. Amazing and modern sounding guitar for the Weinzierl . I enjoy this episode a lot ❤
The interaction between you two is really good and warm! I enjoy the way you both play, and end enjoy listening to the other while they play! While I am not in Germany, I have been to Karlsruhe, North Dakota!
19:11 Earl Klugh - This Time. Glad to see a classical guitarist play one of his pieces! Klugh is an amazing jazz guitarist that plays on a classical guitar.
Some guitars in the right guitar player's hands have an amazing healing power. You and one other player here on UA-cam (can't remember his name) have that. Thank you. By listening to you playing your guitar I could release some stuck emotions and therefore finally heal my headache 😭🙏💞
I've watched and listened to your video presentation of these three fine guitars. The guitars sounded fantastic, and I enjoyed both of you performing, soothing to the ear, thank you. I am happy to be a new subscriber
The sound of all three guitars is truly indescribable, the soft, clear sound, and long reverberation was unique. 👍👍👏👏👏🌹🙏
This is like a wine tasting. It was very interesting. What about the strings? What strings are on each guitar? Do they all have the same type strings to make this a level playing field?
You forgot to mention one important thing that Romanillos replica guitar has an extended saddle that can be moved up and down to adjust preferable action. Am I hired?
The second guitar by Tobias Braun has a very beautiful deep sound on the lower register 👍🏽. I notice that Jonathan has a very obvious Indonesian accent 😊
Nice to see again a guitar made by Tobias Braun, great instrument! I am still very happy with my Tobias Braun Santos Hernandez model of 2019, still trying to figure out which strings fit best. Definitely not Carbon trebles!
Ah, Joyan, you are human too! A little mistake is always possible. Its the recovery that matters! The last guitar was wonderful! But then all the guitars were really grand!😀
I love the world cup; too bad Bulgaria again missed it:) and I love Siccas, this is the place where guitar things happen. I would very much love to work at Siccas; not joking. Jon and Jouyan, great demo as usual. Braun, Eden, and Weinzierl, wonderful guitars indeed. Braun is my choice because of my preference for traditional sound but Weinzierl is very very close. Prediction: Brazil and Siccas meet in the finals. 3-0 Siccas.
I think I might disagree a bit here, this superb guitar sounds very modern to my ears, and also as if made for concert and studio performances of music by Satie, Bach, and for modern classical music and even classy folk and pop songs and instrumentals, as demonstrated.
Hello Steffen, as mentioned in the video, this guitar is made traditionally, but it has many characteristics of a modern guitar, such as round sound, loud and great resonance. That is what I also meant in the video: I usually prefer the sound of modern guitars more, but with this traditionally built guitar, I felt very comfortable. Thanks for your comment!
@@SiccasGuitars Yes, thanks for the clarification, Jouyan. Anyway, to my ears it really sounds very / absolutely modern, doesn't it? How did Lisa Weinzierl achive this, even with the traditional fan bracing build? Is this aged wood?
I know you’re a high-end shop but with your expertise I’d love to see some videos like this examining entry level guitars for beginners. I recently bought a Lucero and love it but what do I know?
Last one: "dark but very crisp" is a good description of its voice, but I say instead of dark, it's a little stuffy especially at lower end. BTW this "French Polish" business might look good but painting using a brush with NATURAL lacquer (&colour) IS FAR MORE MUSICAL having said all that, I actually prefer the first, it has a bigger more ranged & distinct voice OF EACH STRING, harder to play, when individual strings talk somewhat separately, than an instrument playing as a whole, but once a player has mastered what he feels under his fingers, it is extremely rewarding as the music shines through
The difference between the first and second... both sound beautiful but the first makes me think of the person at the party who's voice is very clear but speaks just a bit too loudly. Or an opera singer with perfect pitch and tone, but used to belting it out in an unamplified forum. I thought I loved it until I heard the second guitar. It's more like a laid-back ballad singer with a complex but relaxed voice and no pressure to be loud. I wonder if the soundboard wood - cedar vs spruce - is responsible for their primary differences? As to the third guitar made by Ms Weinzierl - she is obviously a very talented luthier who I expect to make an enormous, positive contribution to the industry in her career. Just amazing talent.
@@SansNeural Thank you for you words that I agree with, however I do think the first is also capable of whisper if the player is able to extract it, further in time as the instrument is played it will develop a wider singing range with ease. Actually after hearing the second, I went back & listened to the first again, cause my impression was just like yours, & I did it again after the third! It was then that I was convinced of the first, for the reasons stated. Thank you
All beautiful guitars. I love Lisa’s guitar. She is a prodigy. I would love to work with you. I can play Lagrima fairly well. I can record and edit videos. I would work as an intern. I would buy coffee for you guys. Joking (not joking). Let me know.
I do love that guitar built by that young voman, it,s so very lovely. Also after listen many times, that A minor thing, when You miss a chord, It,s so lovely and human, because I also miss chords here and where. Why? Well it,s not easy to play a guitar. It should be nice if You told about and show the leveled fretboard as well, meaning the very construction of it.
I don't care about color tonality because that is exactly what you put when you are performing so that for me I don't care about, the most important thing for me is the way your left hand feels when you put your hand in holding the guitar that feeling happen to me when I played 1968 Jose Ramirez A1 and I never felt ever since again on any other guitar
All guitars here sound very nice but trying to define differences through a tiny iPad speaker doesn’t do them any favours. Other things I would like to know is the height of the action at the nut and the twelfth fret. In addition to this what strings are on each guitar? Are they all the same strings? . I could never buy a guitar on line, as the feel is so important. Details of neck curve, neck width, at the nut and string length could be discussed not just the sound, although the sound is all important again it’s a very personal thing and this is one of the reason’s why often one good guitar to another is more about the feel and individual taste. Thank you for posting these wonderful instruments all are a credit to their luthier’s.
Hi Malcom, Thank you for your comment. Specific information like nut/neck width and many other details can be found on our website for each guitar. You can find the links in the video description. We use the same strings on all guitars. These are carbon strings from the Knobloch company.
Please consider trying the c1 protege by cordoba (full)🎉insane unless the one I have is just magical but trust me when I tell u the over tones n the way it responds to me is so crazy
Lovely guitars number 1 was really nice No2 had a bit too much overtone to my ear but spruce will mellow and sweeten over time but No 3 that is a different guitar for sound etc I don't think it sounds traditional in a way, it has a sound of it's own but not modern. The bass does not sound deep to me,(perhaps I mean dark ) although it is, because of the separation of each string and defined sound. It has the ability to sound like two guitars playing to my ear because of that and the way the trebles are defined and that is all in a good way. I am very intrigued by this guitar it sounds like an UK Luthier which I heard many years ago, who I can not think of his name at the moment but She has taken that sound and developed it. Sustain.definition, projection sweetness, singing quality and evenness across the strings. I would love to hear a range of music played on this guitar to hear how it handles various periods of music. It is great to hear these guitars.
The third guitar sounded lesser than the other two, but, did it have anything to do with you not facing the camera like you did with the other two? Of course I'm not aware of your mic placement etc, and I'm sure the third guitar sounds much superior to the classical guitars I own... I simply want to know that this was a fair comparison... because I've learned from recording for decades now that just turning even two inches if reference to the mic or mics can alter the sound greatly. Love your video though, and I'm liking and subscribing!
Thank you for your comment! For the third guitar we also changed the microphone position to make sure that it has the same distance and position as other two guitars.
It speaks of the subtlety, experience, and listening capabilities of the luthier. They have managed to match the wood density, thickness, bracing, and proportions to bring out the most clarity and reverberation from the soundboard, creating natural colorful overtones with discrete harmonics. It is truly a joy to hear!
Something bugging me. I’m sorry but cannot help it I must tell you… that ARM chair in the background. Another great weekly meeting 👏! Good luck on your search for a new employee! Alas, I don't live in Germany, but one day I do hope to visit the shop 😎.
At 3:56 is Franz Schubert Ständchen D957. Great piece of music and a great sounding guitar.
I thought the second guitar sounded the best personally. It’s over tones, balance and harmonics were wonderful, with an unbelievable bass.
I totally agree.
I would call this "The Weekly Guitar Wishing". Hearing them makes me wish for them. Well done.

I believe the lighter weight means thinner wood top, allowing it to resonate and sustain the tones. Very round sound. Lovely!
Extremely wow!
All sounded very good, but the one from Tobias Braun has the magic.
Tobias Brauns guitar had something really special in it.
You can pick out the higher frequency harmonics of each string on the Braun guitar. Truly breathtaking instrument.
second guitar gave me the chills it was that good
