Humor aside, we want to clarify that the player who had his grenade go off in his hand is fine. The vent holes along the base do a good job dispersing the hot gas from the blank.
I made some 3d printed spoons that detach when activated. Those are uploaded to the thingiverse, all you have to do is bend/cut the old one off and replace it with the plastic one as you’re setting it. They take about a half hour to print and cost a couple cents, and won’t bend or break like the original ones. Now to figure out a way to make these time-delay . . .
That's pretty cool! Of course, for them to work with the Brey-Tac conversion you'll need a way to keep the non-ferrous spoon down until impact- maybe a slot to superglue in a magnet would do the trick?
Looks promising, just something to point out as well, I drill a small hole in the side of the co2 "sleeve" so when the actual capsule itself is punctured, it allows for the gas to fill the shell much faster. Makes the original desgin work a bit better, but still not nearly as effective as these blank fire grenades or single use ones (eg67s.)
I've been using this conversion kit for like 6 month and is OP even when playing in forest with soft terrain... Also works great if you attach a string to the spoon and use it like perimetral traps
Highly recommend Pulse Armament BFGs, they take primerd or blanks, and they also have adjustable detonation time, they don't require shock to activate so reliable on all surfaces.
I’m not a fan of Thunder Bs, one with a scored shell turned the core into an unguided missile which punched through my metal mesh mask, knocking out one of my front teeth, that tooth then went through my upper lip requiring stitches. I still have a PTSD response whenever a grenade gets tossed my way.
I never thought that that other hole was for the hammer... I just used my finger to flip the hammer and just held it as I flipped the spoon. Neato! Those BF rds are cool since they're not "live" so more countries can use this!
Looks promising and a great option for those looking to get a blank fire. Still think I prefer my swat vtg over it due to being able to use multiple blank calibers.
I looked into buying one of these for a friend not too long ago, but I’ve been unable to find any information on the decibel level that is produced. Seeing as hearing protection is not a common site at my local field, I don’t want to buy a product that could damage someone’s hearing. I say all that to say, if y’all are ever able to measure the decibels, I’d be interested in knowing the results.
That's a great attitude that we wish was more common with airsofters! We do have occasional access to some industrial noise sampling equipment, and a number of different calibers of BFG, so that's a good idea for a follow-up video.
I was thinking that too, I've never used pyro grenades, but I'd be scared to simply for the safety of others. My first and only experience with them is being hit in the leg by one, not realizing what it was, and then having my eardrums blown out. I'd rather not make that happen for others too
With the growing popularity of blank firing grenades, I feel like earpro should be treated with the same necessity as eyepro and good boots when it comes to gear that isn't optional in airsoft anymore. "Better to have and not need" and all that.
@@Tinblitz It's worth noting that this isn't a new problem with blank-fire, as Thunder Bs already exceed safe limits, particularly in enclosed areas like conex boxes. Even many gas guns exceed the threshold for hearing damage at the sort of distances that a bullpup action or putting your rifle over your buddy's shoulder will produce. Electronic hearing protection is coming down in price so we are seeing gradual acceptance of it as basic PPE, but it's still more along the lines of face protection (you can go without, but you take your chances) rather than treated as essential like eyepro.
@@ExplosiveEnterprises You're not wrong. If anything, that confirms my point. It's probably going to be something I'll recommend to newer players asking what gear they should buy.
Highly unlikely you’ll respond but I wanted to ask how much fps are you getting out of using the bernzomatic torch propane tank on your pistol? I saw that it was a higher PSI than the campfire propane tank offered by bernzomatic and I was curious how much more fps the torch can would offer over the campfire can. I came from your last video where I saw you using it but figured you’d more likely respond to a comment on a newer video. Also really loving these videos man, glad I found you.
I’ve had 4 Thunder b’s break on me. Mainly happens at threads between the black component at the top of the cylinder and the part that houses the firing pin. I’ve tried JB welding those components together and it has still failed. Based on what I see, I’m not sure this kit solves that issue, but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
I don't play airsoft so sorry if this is a noob question but how do these work? I know theres airsoft grenades that actually burst into BB's ? Is it just a rules based thing like, if grenade goes boom near me I call myself out?
It depends on the field, but the typical rule is that if a sound grenade goes off in the same room as you, you're dead, or if it goes off within some radius (5 or 10 feet being typical). Generally though, grenades are used for room-clearing, so it's fairly straightforward in practice.
Looks like a nice conversion for the thunder b, although not much is left of it. I would never buy it though (if it wasnt impossible bc german gun laws anyway), the noise is probably way too much for indoor fields. The thunder b itself is not really that pleasant if thrown into a small room, this thing (or blank fire stuff i.g.) should exceed that. Weight and material is another factor: I usually dont use a helmet and i wouldnt be comfortable with someone using these grenades. Its basically a block of aluminium yeetet at your face if your unlucky... Ive seen head injuries form lighter plastic grenades than these, and i dokt want to imagine getting hit by one of these in the face. If these are used on a field that requires proper hearing and head protection, than it should be fine though. All that said, i think gas powered impact grenades are the best option overall. They dont really lack in reliability anymore, are cheaper and safer to use. I really like my old kimera sound grenades and hope they will last me for the years to come.
Unfortunately a no go for my country, so sadly I have to keep mine on CO2. For anyone else out there having to rely on CO2, I can highly recommend scoring the mold lines with a knife on all the plastic shells and pre-wrap the threads with teflon, when you open up a 12-pack of plastic shells. It saves some time and the scoring makes the CO2 a bit more reliable in my experience. Knowing how deep to cut is a matter of trial and error to be honest, I use the tip of a knife with the edge pointing to the side and applying mild to medium pressure when scoring the lines down the sides.
A couple of local players purchased them as recently as a month ago, so we believe they are still in business. Availability is sporadic as they are produced in batches.
Brother, BFG's using various types of 8/9mm and even 12GA blanks are used on airsoft sites all over the world without issue and have been for literally decades.
@@ExplosiveEnterprises yeah I mean I think blank grenades actually make a lot of sense. As far as I know they’re considered pyro where I play and almost certainly not allowed.

Does it work with 6mm blank? I'm not sure if 9mm blank is legal in my country. Yeah! I know wild.
grab a 9mm to 22lr converter, or drill one yourself. heck 22 is so low power you could get a buddy with a 3d printer to help.
