I don’t remember the Backyard Show or Three Wishes, but I do remember watching Barney Goes to School multiple times when I was a baby girl. I also watched Barney in Concert and Rock with Barney and Campfire Sing along even though I am deaf in both of my ears. It’s hard for me to hear my friends and family and Barney in the past years. Maybe I will read everyone’s lips or use sign language to understand what they say!!
Prior to "Barney's World", I had ideas for my own Barney reboot. Like "Barney's World", my idea was also animated, BUT it was also a reboot of "Barney and the Backyard Gang".
@ Well for the framing device, it'd start off with live action Barney doing a podcast in his house from "Come On Over To Barney's House". The podcast is called "The Imagination Station", and he'd talk about what happened with him that day and how it reminded him of an adventure he had with the Backyard gang, and then it'd cut to an animated episode showing that adventure, before Barney ends the podcast with a piano rendition of the Season 1 version of "I Love You.
Hiya - Heres a speculation as to why Barney was so pAtRiOtIc in the 90's: 1. The last 2 videos were filmed in 1991 - Same time frame as Persian Gulf/Desert Storm 2. Barney was filmed in Texas. Where was George Bush from? Texas. Coincidence? I think not...But anywho, great video!!
I was born in 97 and ironically I remember loving the darker Barney instead of the lighter purple one for some reason 😂😂😂 the backyard show and waiting for Santa was my absolute favorite
The TV series was also my introduction to Barney, but weirdly, when I was shown the original videos later on, I thought nothing of how differently he looked and sounded. Wonder why that was.
I watched Barney for..maybe a year, then gave up on it and moved onto watching other shows that my friends were watching (TMNT, Batman: TAS, Sonic the Hedgehog Sat a.m., Looney Tunes, Tiny Toon Adventures, etc.). Love the episode of Animaniacs where they crush a parody of Barney by having him sing "The Anvil Song", yet he keeps on getting back up.
I knew that Anti Barney was par for the course, especially on the internet, but there’s a difference between harmless yet edgy jokes versus actual involving the people involved. Say what you will but these guys just are trying to make a living. Unless they robbed you at gunpoint, the harassment the cast and crew received was so incredibly unnecessary. Although I’ll say it was a better idea for Barney to be a dinosaur than a clown. Clowns by that point in time had been kinda ruined in the public consciousness.
I agree. From what I've researched for this video, the people working on this show all seemed like great people who just wanted to make a quality show for kids. It definitely didn't deserve all of the hate it ended up getting pre and post internet.
Certainly wasn't the first, but for my age Barney was baby's first "completely milquetoast thing fan/meme-loving people get irrationally and weirdly angry/antagonist about well past comedy's expiration date". Was genuinely creepy in retrospect and its only a wonder this thankfully took place before modern social media.
Yeah, I like the old version better the newer one it just gives it like one of those like you took live action, but you made it like the paw patrol movie but it’s not so bad so like B minus

Lucky you, because I on the other hand was traumatized. Definitely took me a while to warm up to it.
