I have a bag outside on my patio currently - it smelled NASTY. I put it in the sunshine, and I put baking soda, dry ground coffee and a few of those silica gel packets inside...here's to hoping! Will move to Day 2 tomorrow if need be....
Oh wow. Hopefully it works. It may take several weeks for the smell to go away. You’ll may want to consider having it cleaned too.
I have a LV Murakami cherry blossom bag that has a plasticy smell in the interior and exterior. do you have any tips on how to remove the smell? its quite strong.
Hello! Thanks for reaching out. You can try to wash your bag with a light or gentle detergent first. Then, store it with charcoal packs and let it sit for several weeks in open air. It could take a month or so to remove the smell, but it’s pretty much due to whatever harsh chemicals the manufacturer used to create the bag. You can also try googling how to remove plastic smell from canvas.
Do you think it would work on curry scent? I purchased vintage Burberry tote and when I received it it had a curry smell and I would like to get rid of it
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. It could but you’ll likely have to leave it in for a few months since curry has such a strong scent. If you’re able to wash the entire bag or interior ( if you can’t wash the entire bag) it should help remove some of the scent. You’ll need to be patient and stuff it with a few charcoal packs. Leave it in a well ventilated area for a few weeks. Keep checking it periodically but patience will be the name of the game to remove all or most of the scent. Good luck 🍀
The cover photo shows a bling rhinestone pocket book which is what I thought the video would be based on. I'm having an issue with the strong glue smell. Any suggestions?
Hello! I didn’t notice a bling purse in the photo. There is a sequin top on a mannequin behind me. I wonder if that is what you are referring to? You’ll have to try to air it out for a while. This could take a few months. Also, the material you rbag is made out of matters. Try adding charcoal packs inside and letting it air out for a long time. You may need to switch out the packs after a while to give it a refresh. I had to let a bag sit for at least a month to allow most of the smell to go away. I let the bag sit for a total of 2 months to get rid of all hits of the smell. If your bag is plastic or has a lot of glue you may not be able to remove all of the smell but make it manageable.
Would this work on a suede Gucci soho bag?
Hi! It should. It might take longer for the scent to go away or you may have to clean it if it doesn’t go away completely.
