I feel like in a near $200k vehicle heads up display should be standard but besides that, this vehicle truly is phenomenal

Adds weight, Germans are practical and don’t like impractical ideas or unnecessary weights, not saying yours is, I have it on my Sierra and I never look at the instruments, but the heads up display in this car is too compact, not enough room on the windshield.

Audi's RS cars have always been some of the best mix of luxury and performance IMO and this is definitely on top for their brand. The RSQ8 and RS6 are also great in their own niches

I dont know why but compared to other car povs and videos in general I always have to bring up my volume for your videos I'm not sure why it just sounds quieter
The 3D audio is recorded at a lower gain so it doesn't peak. It does mean you have to turn up the volume, though.

Absolutely LOVE this car. I don't care if it's not a hard-edged sports car. In fact, that's what's so attractive about it; that it leans more towards grand touring than something that beats you up and leaves you feeling exhausted from a short drive.
R8, s take a long long time to beak in once they are they are way way quicker. The motor is not crazy tight the rings are seated to the best they can. There just way quicker broken in then new. A after market exhaust brings the joy they have 4 cats on them with crazy mufflers to quiet it down. Lots of weight and power killed from it. After market is a must.

If it wasn't for Porsche, I'm sure Audi would sell a lot more R8's. In this price range the choices are simply exquisite and competition for the R8 kind of customer is tremendous. Bless Audi for sticking with the R8 because each one sold becomes an instant classic. Wonderful drive review, Miles.
I would buy a R8 over a 911 any day. As good as 911's are they are a boring generic choice to pick. They would of sold more if Audi kept making V8 models that are cheaper than the V10.
I'd wager the 911 buyer wouldn't even fully consider an alternative. They want that look and performance. The R8 buyer probably spends quite a bit of time shopping around, settling on the R8 after making an exhaustive pro/con list. Maybe that's fantasy, but I think a deep analysis of value makes the R8 a real winner
@@MilesPerHr your first comment was spot on for people buying cars in this price range the 911 is generic and only car people can tell the difference between the models. I ordered a 2023 R8 RWD spyder for that reason. As for performance, they are all too fast for the street and most likely too expensive for the track. So I picked the one that looks and sounds better

Often but not always. And then there is the open air experience (wind, sun and more of the sound). So it depends if you want to look at the car rather than to have fun with it.

I wonder what it would take for someone to design a custom glass engine cover for this model like the coupe? It’s really a shame Audi didn’t do this from inception.
You wouldn't be able to, the engine is entirely covered by the storage area for the roof when it is retracted.
Buying and driving a car like this in the US is just a waste of money considering your ridiculously low speed limits.

R8 is much better all around. More reliable than the C8 as well as long as you dont get one with the upgraded suspension
Both are great cars but the R8 edges it out because of the V10 and better interior. More cars should not have a center screen and just have it in the gauge cluster. Maybe when the Z06 comes out we can compare
@@Kyle-gd3cw Z06 with custom exhaust might sound better than R8. The stock exhaust on Z06 sounded bad because it was heavily muffled.

It walks the line, but the V10 engine and performance are entry level supercar territory more than Sports Car.

Take a quick look at the supercar market. The R8 RWD price point is on the lower end while giving you much the safe feeling. Hence the title.
