‘Putin’s Yacht’ as the locals in Marina di Carrara call it. Motor Yacht Scheherazade is a 142m Superyacht that has many links to the a Russian President, Vladimir Putin and was arrested by Italian authorities in 2022.
The yacht is still crewed by some British mariners including her master (captain) despite those links to the Russian president who invaded Ukraine in 2022.
The captain claims the yacht is not owned by Putin despite previously allegedly telling interviewees the yacht was owned by a ‘Russian politician, who goes as high as it gets’.
Since her arrest the yacht had been lengthened by 2 metres with a stern extension with a cost probably around $6-10 million dollars, and is now having further modifications carried out despite her arrest. The work is being carried out by @the_italian_sea_group
The Italian Government has refused to give any details of how this work is allowed because of the yacht’s arrest.
Now in our latest video, we show the yacht is having more work, more modifications with an approximate cost of another $5-10 MILLION.

The fact that a head of state has to hide the ownership of his boat says it all
You mean fascist Prime Minister Georgia Meloni?
Even in this modern age and the seemingly limitless forms of information. The level of naivety of how the world works amongst the so called educated is staggering. Keep up the good work sir.
I am also sure, they will paint the yacht with invisible paint, so when cover is removed the yacht will disappear ; )
“Italian Law”, my favourite oxymoron
LOL.
Owner paying millions to restore and modify boat
and at the end it is still frozen..
I call that good business.I guarantee the government where you reside would do the same.
Italian law froze the vessel unlike some other nations.
I was just thinking the same thing!
That paint job gives jobs and it generate profits for an Italian company..
it does not make Putin, its army or Russian stronger!!!
The boat is not less seized for that.
The boat has been in the drydock for a very long time. Generally, in a repair yard, the most valuable piece of real estate is the drydock. The general objective is to bring a ship into the drydock, do whatever work is needed, and get it back into the water.
How much work has the shipyard turned away while Putin's yacht sits in the drydock?
I spent my career working with large tankers. I am familiar with drydocking and repairs to tankers. I have no experience with super yachts. I am extrapolating my experiences.
The yacht was moved out of dry dock last year.
@@YachtReport Robert dose have a good question... For the times the extra work has been done like getting the stern extension put on and now the paint job with inside mods.... That is way being "basic maintenance to keep in same shape".... You gotta admit this "extra work" makes it better then what it was when Russia invaded Ukraine...
I see a drone in this yachts future. Unreal that this work is allowed continue in Italy.
I know there seems to be things that you cant control my god what is the world coming to?
These assets have become so vulnerable.

@@shaunsandow2073 only one ?
Don't they all.
I’m pretty sure the reason why that shipyard is working on that yacht now is because of the fact they’re gonna turn around and sell it at auction because it’s been sitting there for years taking up valuable real estate so you should dig into that that it looks like they’re just fixing it up so that they can get as much as possible at auction just like they did to several other yards. They sold them when they were seized.
Putin will never get to use this boat again so all very odd
He has to hide his stolen fortune somewhere.
@@shaunsandow2073 did he ever even use it? Photo Op's don't count.🧐
Would the new paint scheme happen to be blue and yellow 🇺🇦
What a brilliant thought. Bravo.
They might as well. They’ve got a far greater chance of getting it then Putin ever will. And only Putin would do something this stupid. Spent millions of money on something that he has a 98% chance of never getting back. But this falls in line with the rest of what Putin does. Him and his military are continually making absolute stupid decisions. They have helped out to Ukraine More than anyone else by taking out their own bed and equipment. They are definitely a great supporter and help for Ukraine. So when it goes to this type of help, keep up the great work, Russia. You were doing an awesome job helping Ukraine.

I guess Putin expects to live long enough to use the yacht again.
He has never been seen or reported to have been onboard by crew.
So....
Upgrades, he has nukes onboard. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
how nice of the Italians to spend 20 million a year to keep Putin's boat in new condition for him /they must be great friends to go to this extent to make him happy
Not a shocker considering Italy's fashy history.
Because every other government in the world is totally above board and transparent 🤣😂
The Italians arent writting the check, they are simply turning a blind eye to let Putin's intermediaries write the check.
You must have not listened carefully to the video. The author says clearly that he believes the Italian government simply allows Putin to spend money on the yacht upkeep and mofifications, not that they pay those money themselves.
Just Putin spreading his people's wealth. Another hiding place.
And they have hired seagulls to keep drones away 🙂
In war, the first casualty is truth. So wouldn’t we expect some amount of lying and obfuscation concerning a very expensive yacht?
🙋♂️ THANKS ESYSMAN,FOR SHARING THE UPDATE…KEEP UP ⬆️ THE GOOD WORK 💚💚💚
I seriously doubt Putin would ever be able to use this yacht.
Take Putin’s money, pay Italian workers to improve the yacht. Putin is unlikely to ever set foot upon it again. Sell it off, give Ukraine the money.
you have a small problem sounds like.. you should get your issue checked out
More a Mega yacht than Super!
Those names really have no meaning. Anything over 24m is classed as a large motor yacht aka superyacht.
"Maintain it in the condition it was it at time of arrest". That condition had ship under contract for modificatiosn by shipyard, so easy to see why the arrest would include continued work to complete the work. Quite different from ship being arrested at a marina and then sig a contract for modifications after arrest.
Also, the shipyard would be the injured party here if the work were not allowed to be finished if the contract had mobilised workforce and facilities like dry dock for a certain period and cancelling that contract did not guarantee these workers and facilities would find work of equal pay/profit and might instead remain idle while they look for other customers. What is surprising though is that the fancy row boat didn't complete the work asap. Curious if there were in fact 2 separate contracts 2 years apart and because of arrest, the second paint job scheeduled for 2 year after lenghtening was not part of the same visit. Otherwise, you would have expected the work to be completed as soon as possible and then leave the row boat parked in a marina somwhere.
I assume ship's upkeep is much less expensive while in shipyard? Might be a reason the Italian goverment is happy to see work take longer than necessary since they wouldn't have to pay for full crew for upkeep.
finally, someone with some sense...
It's incredible that millions of dollars of "someone's" money can be spent like this in secrecy. It would certainly seem that someone is doing something that cannot stand the light of day. But then, as he said, this is Italy.
If you're not paying, you're not a customer, you're a product. One of the best lines I've heard in a while
It's stunning that a "normal" sized yacht next to this monster looks like an RC boat.
Weirdly - I was reading a classic American piece of literature from the early 70's called Slaughterhouse 5. Kurt Vonnegut makes a reference to a pleasure motor Yacht named...You guessed it: Sheherazade. Imagine my surprise! Surely this is not a coincidence!
Putin is crazy, but he isn't stupid. And he is a "history buff" (of sorts, sometimes a deluded sort). So Sheherazade makes sense as a name - a romantically powerful name in Russian lore.
There’s not many places that he can sail around in his yacht without being attacked
If you act on a derogation, make an exemption to a law, then the owner (Putin) better be paying Italian Workers and not his own people. Putin would never trust saying a word on the yacht as there must be millions of tiny 'bugs' all over- the thing will be of 'questionable security risk' forever.
So interesting! Great reporting. Stay safe.
… Nord … vpn …. thought we switched up to another yacht story for a second 😂
Love watching your videos been following you for years… I don’t understand the Putin yacht.. why doesn’t the Italian government just sell it? Is there a clause anywhere or have I missed one of your videos explaining why they can’t do this?… keep up the good work love watching them x
The Brotherhood of mafias!
most people dont understand corruption, its a privilege for the rich.
Yes. And they also don't understand Autocrats/Dictators. They often think they are voting for a person who shares their beliefs, when in fact the politician could not care less about the individual voter and makes all decisions to benefit himself.
It’s a club and you ain’t in it.
It is stunning how the yacht owners can spend that amount of money on a boat and then be frugal in all other areas.
"Frugal?" Would you consider golden toilets to be "frugal?"
@@GM-cq6ez The yacht owners spend money on the boat but, apparently, they are careful with cash for everything else. Years ago, I was told that the rich are careful with money. So, they would not give YOU the money that would buy a golden toilet. They would not give that golden-toilet money to charity either.
Send it out of the harbour & let the Ukrainians raffle it off!
What an ugly looking extension to the stern, no naval architecture there.
nice to see putin has nice yacht...his people dont even have a toilet and gas in home🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Obviously the whole situation is massively complicated and corrupt, but probably one of the people most likely to come unstuck is you for continuing to report it. Just stay safe.
I hope "whoever owns it" doesn't EVER get the chance to use it again.
I suspect there are high level negotiations going on to allow this. The Italian government hasn't always been known for its morality.
Small point, but having the sponsor message appear bang in the middle of your sentence was really jarring and I have to say annoying. Sorry to complain, but it's very rare anything you do or say annoys me!.
That thing is so bugged by now by western agencies😂
Italian gov't: "The public has learned that your secret service guys are crewing the boat. Could you please be less obvious?"
Putin: "OK, I'll replace them with an English crew."
Italian gov't: "Thank you. By the way, the upgrades are coming along nicely."
Should be sold and money given to Ukraine!!
Nice update thanks sysman
Tongue in cheek: maybe it is being painted navy gray, upgraded with the right military tech and being donated to the Ukrainian navy. They need ships.
You haven't seen Zelensky's superyacht in Montecarlo then.
@@nadir8804 This has been fact checked by esysman himself, and debunked.
@@eastbaystreet1242 thanks for this info. I missed the video but will check it out then.
Italian law enforcement is truly an embarrassment to the world.
From my point of view, all these vessels should not be frozen, but to free up space for others, and make life better for dockers, force the owner through a friend of theirs from a neutral country, to take away the vessel itself. If this magnate has had the opportunity to do work on the yacht, once the work is finished, he can take it away, and then perhaps after receiving the expenses, return it to the real owner in international waters, or in the Black Sea, anchored in Rostov
I bet after refit is finished the owner will have a nice cruise together with his "enemy".
The petrodollar scam is breaking down
Keep the Italian craftsman working at all costs
There are rules for the ruled, and rules for the rulers. The rich and powerful get away with whatever they want.
Same rules it's just that the rich can afford lawyers to represent them.
Put it for sale and send money to Ukrainian
It needs one of those 200' sailing masts installed. 🤣😂
Does Putin really think he'll see this boat again?
Then, How the heck they skip the sanctions to provide founds to conduct those reparations?
Same one is corrupt in Italy!
Give the man his boat back.
I think he has more than one anyways.
It's ironic that the people who are getting to enjoy this magnificent vessel the most are the labourers, craftspeople, engineers, decorators, cleaners and maintenance crew! To mis-quote and old saying, ""A hole in the water into which the vast amount hard working Russian people are pouring money".
To my mind, it makes perfect sense, even if, and especially if, the money comes from Putins pocket, that means it’s money he doesn’t have, on a yacht he can’t get at, but keeping who knows how many yard staff, suppliers and ancillary staff paid, the yard working and the vessel ready to be sold in tip top condition to the highest bidder at a handsome profit to both the Yard and the Italian government. That’s my take on it.
Paint is maintenance.
Not really on a ship of this age AND one that has seen extremely little time at sea.
Unless is for a 'change of use' ...
Great Video, really like how you break down the info.👍
I'm surprised that Putin would want a yacht at all, because on a yacht he would be so vulnerable to attack. Maybe he's another rich person who bought a yacht as a status symbol and didn't give much thought to what it is like to spend days on the ocean.
Thanks! 👍👍
Please keep two eyes on this matter, from an Italian follower!
Rules only apply if they are enforced.
let's say, a super yacht featuring a full size helicopter hangar & flight deck in the aft stern section of the yacht . . . similar to naval frigates & destroyers equipped with full size helicopter hangar & flight deck in the aft stern section of the warship . . . the aft hangar deck in the super yacht will be big enough to accommodate upto two helos . . . namely the ship-borne AW101 Merlin HM3 maritime multi mission helos or two Sikorsky S-92B multi mission SAR helicopter . . .
We all know how Italian law works (€), what a surprise it’s over there!
ittalian maffia meets Russian maffia.... simple as that
how many similar vessels does Vladimir own ?
Who will end up owning this yacht? There is less and less daylight in Putin's life.
Maybe Putin sold his toy at a substantial discount to Roman Abramovich as he sees he already has a sister ship to it? 🤔
Abramovich gets his gas at discount from the russian state. When he buys toys from putin he pays above market price or he donates the toys to putin as payment for his cheap gas. Bribery 101
A great video to play "Scheherazade", the Suite by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov!
Love the dramatic music in the intro & ending.
It seems this boat builder may well be infamous again this week imo RIP
The Iti’s should sell it!
If it catches fire will someone put it out?
Maybe the owner is Dmitry Medvedev?
Does Putin's yacht carries firearms when he is on board and visiting the world's ports? I think everybody knows the answer to that.
Money over conscience in that dockyards, disgraceful.
With any luck, it'll be finished once he is.
Thanks..
What did that scaffolding and heavy plastic "shrink wrap" cost? Just before they spend on prepping the surfaces and then the primers and the gelcoats. I can't imagine the thousands of gallons of marine paint, sure it's not ablative hull paint, but anything marine is like the second most expensive category of material costs only to Aviation/Aerospace.
Probably rotating their warheads for their Strela-2 Man Pads and other pieces of "defensive" kit.
Come on, now. You're old enough to know that the government doesn't hold itself to the same standards it holds its people. The government can make an exception for itself. These sanctions have not been hurting Russia, but those that have sanctioned Russia. If the Italian government gives itself an exemption so that the Russian owner can maintain (and improve) the yacht so the government doesn't have to, what harm does it do? The Russians can't use it and the Italian government doesn't have to pay for it. *_IF_* government employees were smart, they would have allowed _every_ sanctioned/detained yacht to be maintained by the owners while the sanctions are going on. It's ignorance and arrogance by the government to state they're going to take care of these without being affected.

One way or the other, Putin will never step foot on this yacht again. We can take some pleasure in that.
Nothing a Ukrainian sea drone can’t sort out.
So who is paying the Bill
But all of Putin's assets are frozen!!! How can he afford a yacht and maintenance? Putin is very poor. 😔
Curious to know: does Putin's yacht have a 'moon pool'?
It is Italy. When in Rome….
It's dollars in the Italian economy/ taxes no
