I hope other young Moms watch you and see the importance of routine. Kids need it, and things should happen daily at the same time. I always feed my kids at the same time each day, they had a morning routine, and nighttime routine. Bed time was 7:30 when young, school age 8:00. I see kids out at the store at 9:00 at night. This generation is being raised by children that weren't parented.
So true. All of it. "Children are a map of their parents," regardless of age.
We try in our house to have structure and routine. Our children need it but so do I. My husband is an OTR trucker so about once a month, give or take, it's all kinds of topsy-turvy as far as plans, routine, etc. Getting back into a rhythm always takes a few days :-/
Oh my, those scallops!!
The meals look delicious.
❤ It’s fire pit season s on days off work we find it cozy to sit outside looking at fire, stars and no technology for good conversations! 😊
You are so blessed to have parents who watch your children so you had only 3 to watch. There are many parents who get no help. My mom never got a break raising her children(7).
Would you consider doing a video about what your toddlers eat and how you encourage them to eat what the rest of the family eats?
You are such a sweet, loving, talented lady!
I wish we could have seen you and your hubby like in your thumb nail 🩵
At home date nights are my favorite! The kids go to bed and we have steak, gnocchi or occasionally takeout Chinese. And cocktails :) So fun... and I get to eat in my pjs.
Everything looked delicious! Glad you guys got to spend extra quality time together!
You’re like me as far as my love for having a baby around although my baby days are no more.Even though I was a very young Mom I cherished it ,my boys were never a burden at any time .
Great meals. I'm glad you and hubby had some adult time together. The baby is getting big
I used to LOVE to go out to dinner with my husband. It was a nice break from cooking and cleaning up…however I find that I can prepare much better meals that are way more delicious and healthier than I can find at restaurants. We also have a freezer full of venison and the veggie garden is exploding. So I’m with you…it’s nice to make a “romantic dinner for two” at home. Thanks for sharing!!!🥩🥗🍗🍚🍮😍
You are such an amazing cook! I love seeing little baby's foot hanging out from the wrap.😊 glad you got a break. Even though you have 7 wonderful children, it is nice to spend time with the hubby.
Laura, what a great week for your family! Your older children enjoyed making memories with their grandparents and you were able to spend more time with your husband and toddlers. The meals that you prepared looked delicious with wonderful eye appeal. ❤
Delicious food!!! Nice way to get out of a routine and know the kiddos are fine. Always nice to get the routine back too!!!
My goodness Laura!! You are such an amazing cook! So gourmet!!❤❤
What a lovely week for you and your husband. Wow. All the food you prepared looked like such delicious gourmet meals. Yum! Thanks for sharing.
Oh goodness.. that sweet baby boy😊 Those little legs/feet hanging out & his sweet little round head, too precious😊 All the recipes looked so yummy & delish😋 I'm a big seafood lover.. the scallops looked sooo yummy! I love asparagus too! I like to put it on a baking sheet or cookie sheet, cover them & the pan good with olive oil, cover them good with parmesan cheese (the kind in the shaker) use a good amount of pepper & sea salt, sometimes i add cherry tomatoes sliced in half before i sprinkle the other ingredients.. Bake on 350° until tender & the Parmesan is a little crusty..sooo good🤤 I eat my steak medium, just a little pink, not so dry that way. Our 2 kids are grown, we've been empty nest for about 6yrs. and we'd much rather eat at home.. I'm a home body, nowhere else i'd rather be! Right now everything is totally different. We've recently moved to Florida, about 2mths ago, & staying with my son, his wife & 11mth old. Then 2wks ago we had to get custody if our 3 & 5yr olds. So life is MUCH different right now😂 but hopefully we'll find a house soon, the 5yr old Erik start school in less than 2wks, so it'll be me & the 2yr old. Is great you guys had the extra quality time! Enjoyed the recipes!😊
What a special week! Your meals look like a five star restaurant! I hope you all enjoyed your staycation!
Laura you are such a blessing...
Love from South Africa 💝
All of your food look so good
You and your sister Lisa know to cook and put a delicious meal on the table
Love your videos and I’m glad that you and your hubby got to spend some quality time together and your kids got to spend some time with their grandparents
Thanks for sharing
God bless
Absolutely wonderful! The house must have seemed so empty ❤❤❤
Oh my gosh! Everything looks so delicious 😋! If everyone cooked like you, restaurants would not be needed 😂.
I like your positive attitude. You see the glass half full and I know that’s a comfort to your husband. What a blessing to see all those delicious home cooked meals every day. What a blessing for him to come home to.
Our pastor talked about that at our wedding. That marriage and the home is a soft place to fall after fighting the battles of the day.
You’re providing that for your guy!! ❤
I love how you and your husband made time to enjoy good food each other's company! We have 3 small kids and we do a lot of at homr date nights too. All the meals you made look delicious! Thanks for the inspiration!
The food you made looks absolutely delicious, I loved it all but maybe the scallops were my favourite. I'll have to try those😋😋
Home is the best place to be,,,,my husband and I often say how lucky we are to have a safe home in a safe community with a beautiful lake nearby,,,,counting our blessings
Thank you for brightening my day ❤
Love this🥰 from a momma to 5 from FL 😉💪🏼💝
I love it when my daughter and her husband share our grandson. We enjoy lots of kid friendly meals and the activity of having a 9 year old around! I'm going to try and make a few of your recipes for me and grampy!
All the food looked wonderful! Glad you had a good week with your husband and little ones.
What a great reminder! Our kids are out of the house except for one high schooler, but busy schedules make “going out” tricky…thanks for reminding me that it just takes a little extra effort for supper I’m already making to make us both feel special ❤
❤Everything looks so healthy and yummy!! So glad you got a simpler week and enjoyed date time with your husband. I love you channel. Thanks for the pleasant and beautiful post.❤
Outstanding video thank you !!!
Patricia
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved this video 🎉 Food looks great!
Those meals all look wonderful! Glad you were able to get a nice break! ❤
Yup I’m with you Laura, like my steak mooing…lol😂😂
Same. I actually prefer it redder than even my husband does lol
These meals look divine!
So nice to see an effort to couple, its so imporant to a marriage. Your kids will grow up and move out and if you havent worked at being a couple all that time, it can landslide. The meals looked delicious.
Fantastic meals, definitely want to give them a go, especially the peanut butter mousse! I wonder if it would be good with a little dollop of strawberry jam? It would be like a peanut butter and jam sandwich!
Looks like some delicious meals! Healthy too:)
Loved this video, because it’s only my husband & I, so this gave me a lot of ideas for “special” nights! Thank you 😊
It’s heartwarming to see how you’ve embraced the quiet time while the kids were away. Your ability to find joy and make the most out of these moments is truly admirable. It’s a reminder of how precious and cherished family time is, and how every moment apart can make us appreciate the togetherness even more. Your story is a beautiful testament to the value of both presence and absence in our lives. And I am Floating Village Life.
Beautiful video and such awesome meals!
You’re amazing! I wish I had half your energy and creativity!
All the meals look delicious ❤
Hi Laura, sounds like you had a great week and that makes me happy. Be blessed.
Thank you! You too!!
Your meals looked delicious!
I made the creamy Tuscan scallops for dinner tonight. Yum! So flavorful and it came together super fast. Delicious!!
I’m so glad you loved it!!
@@ouroilyhouse once I saw scallops on the video this morning, I literally could not get to the store fast enough to get the ingredients!
Now i'm really hungry! Yummy!
The song playing around 6.30 mark.... I stinking love.🤎 it's so beautiful and soothing. I know you've used it before, but I adore it when you do! Silly detail. Haha
Meals look so relish!! Loved todays vlog Laura!! Thank you..
Thanks so much! 😊🥰
Good morning from NC
I really love watching your videos each week. Nothing is more important than being a wife and mother. I’m so proud of you for being home with your babies.
love it everyone need a bit of date time xxx
Oh my gosh those meals looked amazing 😍😍 peanut butter mousse has my name on it 😂. So good that you had some quality time with your husband, it’s very important
Ah-mazing!!!!! ❤❤❤
Video bellissimo!! 😊complimenti per la bella famiglia ❤
Its our wedding anniversary tomorrow and we have the older kids all at sleeovers tonight with just the baby home so we can ave a night in kid free (so much more enjoyable than going out wit a baby!)
Laura you are such a positive, enjoyable person to watch!! I bet the 4 older kids had a great time too! You should interview your parents to see what they all did for the week!! The recipe ideas are great!! Can you do a video on how you have managed bed time with all the kids, with various ages etc. We just had our 7th grandbaby be born on 7/23 so I stayed in Omaha for about 10 days helping out. Bedtime is a chore. How did you train bedtime with your children. Any advice is helpful!! Thank you for this video and how great for you and your husband to have a relaxed week!!
Do you have a link for the peanut butter dessert?
This video was my favorite of all your videos. The food was incredible! So tantalizing! Thank you. I have food sensitivities and allergies, but I’m thinking maybe make one of these meals a month and skip the restaurant! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Delicious meals. You make me want to be a better cook…maybe when I retire. Lol
So calming 🥰
Love your recipes ❤
Everything looks delicious
Thank you!
Top that mouse with shaved chocolate and crushed nuts! Thanks for the recipe!
Great video
Those all looked like delicious meals made with love. I’m curious though, do you get a break from cooking at all, does your husband help out and cook at all? You need time to relax too
I think they’re old school.. cooking and taking care of the house, kids, hubby is her life
Have you tried grilling romaine lettuce? You would love it, been making it for years. It’s such a game changer for the summer. Dorene Weiss
Ohhh I need to try it!!
You and your younger sister look so much more alike
We get that a lot 🥰
Sweet ❤
A lot of quality time together can sometimes mean a new little one will be arriving in nine months 😂
She's still in postpartum yet? She just had Lewis a month ago. 😊
God bless
Kids want routines, they crave knowing what is going to happen in their lives. You can deviate and it’s fun but try to stick to schedules and appropriate routines. You’ll have much happier, relaxed children😀
What did he do to make it special for you?
Great video, very yummy ideas ,
My first thought when you said the kids were gone was on no another pregnancy, but I forgot that you’re still wearing one and will for many more months.
❤
Little pink legs so close to the stove made me nervous. I’m a grandma, so I’m extra cautious
I know, I get a little nervous too especially when they are frying or bending over..worried their little heads are going to get bumped. But, I’m sure she is very careful!
I wear an apron over the baby whenever I'm cooking, especially if oil is going to splatter
I feel the same way, but I never had my babies in a carrier and my toddlers weren’t allowed in the kitchen when I was cooking. I only have 2 children though so she definitely has more experience than I do with little ones. I’m just super careful, I think because my eldest has adhd and has no sense of danger. If he touched a hot surface and burnt himself he wouldn’t register not to do it again he would carry right on and do it again which is when the baby gate went up on the kitchen door. I also don’t cook on the front hot plates unless necessary. I do think the positives of carrying baby all the time though are excellent and maybe if I knew now I may have been different, my kids are 20 and 14 now though 🤣
Everyyyyy week she gets this comment. It isn’t groundbreaking information. She’s aware. Give it a rest.

Our Oily House, for the salmon recipe, I swore I saw you pour something thick in the sauce, which I assumed it was honey! Also some type of red sauce, maybe soya sauce too, and lemon juice? Can you confirm that pls, none of these are listed in the recipe nor the amounts! Thank you!
So Laura, for the chicken recipe, does the chicken only cook for 20 minutes? 10 minutes in the frying pan at the beginning then it says 10 minutes in the 400 oven? Perhaps another 10 minutes over and above that 20 minutes? I just don’t want to cook the sauce down dry! Thank you!
Recipes for the deserts?
Hi, Laura! I’ve watched your ciao a few times and have reviews the recipe links. Am I missing the peanut butter mousse recipe? I went to you recipe website and typed it in, but couldn’t find it there either. I’m not sure if you used cream cheese or whipped cream or both!

@@ouroilyhouse Thank you!

Is it too soon to make another baby?
I know you like baby wearing. But, does the newborn have a bouncy chair or swing too?
How come your back doesn’t hurt with all that baby wearing?
Another baby on the way? 😂
She just had Lewis about 1 month ago, so even if she was pregnant already, she wouldn't be showing yet. I wouldn't think... 😊 she doesn't look pregnant to me anyway 😏 I was thinking her stomach has gone down so much and that she is looking so good for only being 4-6weeks postpartum.
Babies should not be on u when in the kitchen they can get burnt or things spilled on them u can’t cook properly with a baby on u put them in babyroo
