Ammie, I do not comment on your videos enough, but I just want to say that you and Jessica at three rivers homestead are my favorite UA-camrs. I have learned so much from you! One of my goals for the year is to invest in a grain mill and start this journey as well. Hopefully later in the year we’ll be able to do that! I agree with the comment that you seem so much healthier and joy-filled since your surgery😊 8:05

Ammie, my friend, this is perfect timing! I've had a grain mill for at LEAST 6 months, and I have the wheat berries! I'm so intimidated with this process that I don't do any of it! I just need to start!
@@ashleyporter9330 hi Ashley!! I’m so glad to hear this and that you’ve already gotten all the supplies you need! (Don’t feel bad, I let my pressure canner do the same thing two years ago because was too intimidated by it) But the grain mill has been so extremely easy to learn, really not even that much to learn besides turning it on! I’m still learning conversions but I hung the “bread beckers grain berries to flour conversions” chest sheet and it’s made milling even simpler still! facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=5807386655955843&set=a.505331709494724 Just go for it! So I just got the same mill for Christmas and I made the same mistake as you, although you may not know it’s a mistake right now. You know when you open the bin where the flour goes into and there’s a ring around it so I kind of trapped some of the flower that ring is not supposed to be in the bowl. It’s supposed to go on top of it. There’s a little notches that it fits into so that the part where you put grain in is bigger so you can add more at a time. Hopefully that helps.
@@AmyHatch-x1c haha yes I know!! I put it on properly at my parent’s to test it earlier that day. Packed it all back up to bring home and when I pulled it out of the box in that clip, I was so excited to use it, I forgot to get out the hopper extension from the bottom bowl! 🤪 It’s in its proper place on top of the mill now! And so exciting you got one for Christmas too!!!
