The roof rack entry is a top idea. Well done.

Great video guys. Its nice to see a review from people that are actually using a tent longterm and can give some proper insight into the product.

That truck is bad ass! Rooftop tent with a front porch over the cab?!? I absolutely NEED that rig in my life!

Just got mine. I'm kinda gutted it doesn't have the triple roof liner. And they changed the ladder and mount brackets, you have to rivet them to your tent yourself. But its so good!

We looked at the KING but when we placed a cut out on the car, didn’t realise how much wider it was over the Queen. Unless you have a BIG 4x4, its overhangs a bit and forget adding awing.. We went with 300w solar and installed by another 4v4 dealer. The standard connection of the solar panel to the tent is pretty poor and not sealed and we were shocked when they showed the on-display model. Disappointing. Oh, check eBay for a telescopic ladder. How many bad reviews do Bundutec need before they replace the absolutely crap ladder. Why design an amazing tent like this and provide a CRAP ladder. OMG, its shit. We wouldn’t even spend time taking to the tip.

@@Naessey Hi, we understand everyone seems to bag the std ladder, yet as a owner user we can't understand why.
To us, the two piece ladder is light weight and easy to handle.
To us, the only problem was storage, easily resolved by creating an aluminium framed storage rack on the tent roof.
In short, our roof has a full width Redarc solar panel up front, then 1 section of the ladder stored full width, followed by second section of ladder stored full width, followed by aluminium frame that stores maxtracs, again full width. That covers the whole roof, no wasted space up there.
The ladder is accessed by standing on rear vehicle wheel. I join it together as I remove, drop straight in place. Yes it squeaked in place as we moved around, resolved by lining upper ladder fit over bracket with thin rubber.
      Love our Bundutop to bits,
Just added awning led light to illuminate ladder at night, (switched from inside), two by led night reading lights to aluminium uprights, (switched at base of light) switched the supplied internal light by switch next to awning light switch, (saves climbing up from snug bed to kill light), a bracket to the light frame that holds digital thermometer, and phone allowing us to watch UA-cam, TV in bed, and the best mod yet, well at this time of year (Winter) a built in diesel heater at the foot of the bed. It is awesome, keeps us very cosy.
Yes, we did away with original mattress as well, wife found it too hard, didn't bother me though.
      Love love love the Bundutop.

Good review for someone like me trying to choose a rooftop tent. Thanks. On your solar setup, where does the wire from the panel route off the roof? Separate battery(ies) ? Use a controller? Can you replace the bungees responsible for drawing in the canopy? I'll check the rest of your videos , sorry if the answers to the above are in them.Great rig!

Hey mate. I ran the wire through a waterproof cable gland in the roof and then it runs with the winch wiring through the rooftop - which continues on into the canopy with another gland. I have a 120ah agm battery with a RedArc Dc-Dc charger/solar regulator.
Yes, you can replace everything - all available through Bunnings. Let us know if you have any other questions! :)

We ran lead to Anderson plug at rear of vehicle that connected to 2nd battery. Battery powers fridge, tent, phones and TV without any issue - though we went 300w solar to be sure and not take chances. It was more 2x more expensive than 200w, but our view was that it was better to not worry than have to watch the battery meter every day.

    Internal
    125cm wide, 200cm long, 100cm high (prob)

NOTE: we have Ford Ranger and found King too big. Because the roof inclines, the tent overhangs. Unless you have something like a Patrol or a Landcruiser, would give a miss. 200mm doesn’t seem a lot, but hell, it is. Oh, if you get the solar panel, make sure its screwed in correctly and sealed. This seems like an afterthought and OMG, replace the ladder. It’s CRAP. Found AUD$75 telescopic on eBay and never looked back. Even a cheap eBay knock off is better than the ladder Bundutec provide.
