The stick weld setting on the 210 EMP, in your "secret menu" there's adjustments for your hot start and arc force. 😋 not sure he was aware..or perhaps his machine didn't have the feature. Mine sold here in Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦 does have that feature. Great machine so far
ESAB has always impressed me, ran the ATOMARC ESAB rods in welding school years ago, and without a doubt they created the best 7018 rod of any manufacture, Excalibur rods even feel like a noticeable downgrade. Some machines feel better than others, I'll never forget on my first pipe welding job I got off the Lincoln wired in welders, and got to weld with a 400 classic rig welder, I tried at one point on a piece of scrap to blow porosity with one and I finally got it to, but I had to try to get it to, oddly enough in the shop at the plant I was at they had a old miller thunderbolt, I went in there to roll out a elbow on some 6 inch pipe, that welder welded better than the rig.. we were using Lincoln welders in school, and sadly most of the machines I've touched in the field are better. Never ran anything with a ESAB welder, but given how people I talk to say they are the "gold standard" of electric welders, and are only a couple hundred more dollars than other brands, I'd for sure buy this for a welder at the house.
Great machine the shop I work on right now just replace all the rebels for this machines, because of some faulty screens plus other inside error codes on main boards, the machines are super easy to use easy to move around
I'm a welder that's wanting to start a business. but I don't want to spend a lot of money just starting out. Which of these would be a good unit to start off with? I have 230v 50amps input.
Question: In the EMP 210 manual (pg. 74 - Sec. 8.3) it states that one can fill the gap of the weld metal to fill the root of the weld (for MMA (SMAW) welding process) by "increasing the welding current." However, there seems to be no "secret menu" (as Chas. Humber noted) for this process. How does one accomplish "increasing the welding current" in this process?
i tell you one thing. Esab takes a very long time to send you your rebate. You will wait months to get it back. I had a rebate for a esab welding shield and i am still waiting on it. Coming on 3 months now. Im just saying dont expect them to have it to you in a timely manner. I have the Esab Rebel and it has been a good so far. I would say its worth the money.
I had the Rebel 210 EMP and the thing had less than 100 hours on it when the main board took a dump. 1 month out of warranty and the part was $1800 and I only paid $1350 new.
Love the enthusiasm and I love the ESAB units but that was a ball of confusion for me. My only take away was get the more expensive unit. Clearly that's what you want to sell, but I didn't hear any distinguishing features that would sell the EM 210. Maybe that was your point?, but you coulda' just come out and said, "get the EMP 210" or you're a dumbass? Anyway, I'll be getting an ESAB unit soon so it's all good.
Bought the emp 210 . Lasted about 30 hours n fried ! Piece junk ! Esab 141i just smoked a month ago . Turned it on , , , smoked rolled out it ! Got esab 285 . It has issues . Pull the trigger and it wont snap the wire off . Id trade all 4 of em fr a F N 6 pak a 7 up and a F N gummie fr the night ! Got a esab 215 . Menu knob broke on it . Cant get out of mig mode ! But the miller 215 is just doin circles around all 4 of em ! Not one problem with either miller 215 ! All the local suppliers quit keeping esab on the shelf cause so many of them got returned ! If yr a new weldor learning the trade . Dont get a esab turd ! Get a miller if yr trying to learn the trade ! Youll be all kinds a headaches a head . You cant learn to weld if yr esabs broke ! Ive NEVER had a miller fry or break ! In 40 years of welding ! Speaks for itself ! I call em Mesabs now . Cause if you got suckered into buying one . Yr probably sabin n cryin !

Charlie: How do you use this feature on your machine?
how do you change arc force 🤔

Dude I got my 6g certificate with the 210 model esab is the way to go man

Can you weld with 1.2
Unfortunately, ESAB doesn't sell the EMP210 here in my country (Brazil)
Thank you very much for the very useful video.

Increasing your amperage..
Hello 🙂 please give your opinion, is it better to buy the rebel 215 or this emp 210?
Can you weld with 6010 on the emp 210?
I've always wondered how the Esab quality compares to say an Everlast or HF welder. I see comments about longevity problems.
Longevity problems with ESAB?
@@nalley6815yea no.😂💀
@@mojo5040 yeah this comment has me confused 😂
@@1114flibby damn…..
why is there no single phase esab with pulse mig. same Fronius brand. I hope there will be
can the 210 weld anything like 1/8 stock, like to make go carts and all new at this and cam mig weld aluminum on this thanks
Yes
So you have to have ac to tig aluminum? I don’t see the point in it then honestly.
Whats the highest amperage for stick?
Was really close to buying this but no AC is a deal killer 😢
That’s where I’m at.
What did you end up doing?
I’m looking at the weldpro Omni 210 cause it is AC/DC, same price as this Esab without ac

It has a 3 year warranty and only went on the market in September 2021. So I call BS that it’s off warranty!
@@glennw.4243 My mistake I had the ESAB EMP 215ic. I bought it new in 2017.
I hope my name is drawn. Im in need of a new hood

Lift arc only is a huge deal breaker for me. It’s not practical for guys that are doing out of position field welds constantly.
The constant fan on, would put me off!
So this machine can't weld aluminum correct
Not TIG. You can only weld aluminum with it if you get a spool gun for it.
Came to the comments for the same question
do yall know if u can use .045 wire by changing the spool drive rolls
how can it weld aluminum with no AC@@emeryhout
