I just watched the first 3, so perfect timing! This is the decade I remember most, and remember the Nemesis Sub-Terra and Smiler adverts from my childhood
@coaster_dad I also rode Galactica with the VR. It wasn't the greatest thing I have done, and I prefer it without. My headset also fell off during the fly-to-lie inersion.
Smiler opening year was quite the fiasco, with opening dates promised and missed, and a lot of people annoyed that they'd booked trips to find it wasn't yet open. As some consolation, they continued to run the Sanctuary scare maze at the start of the season, which was actually really good.
Rollercoaster restaurant, your take was interesting there, because if you are there with a family of 4, most of the other places to eat are there or there about, the same price, burger and chips is about £16 from the outside stand near nemesis, it’s about this in rollercoaster restaurant, only thing that bumps it up that tad more is the drinks. Maybe when it opened it was way more expensive, but I honestly think, compared to the extortionate prices for food around the park, it isn’t that bad/actually quite appealing leaving you feeling less ripped off when you have spent £70 to eat food on a wall compared to £80 to eat it in the rollercoaster restaurant. Just my take of course. Also, really like your videos (I’m in one of the Blackpool ones in the background haha), keep up the good work and I hope you see exponential growth in your subscriber numbers soon, you deserve it
To be fair I’ve not been to the rollercoaster restaurant in a few years and I’ve heard positive things this season so I need to give it another go. And thank you so much for the support. Really appreciate it. 😀
Something I noticed and would like to change is most of the areas are all spooky/scary themed, Forbidden valley , X Sector, Dark Forest, Haunted Hollows, It'd be nice to have an area that's not just for kids but not dingy and focused on jump scares. UG land was that perfect middle ground. Loved the massive bone decorations and cave man music 🍖
Yeah. It’s a bit like Thorpe they were the same and then Hyperia is obviously a lighter theme. Will be interesting to see if they change anything going forward.
You missed out several CBeebies Land attractions! In the Night Garden boat ride, Justin's House Pie-o-matic Factory.& others. They also placed hand & paw prints of CBeebies characters & presenters. In 2015 Justin Fletcher appeared at the park with a Sing Along show.
2012 was when my daughter showed interest in the bigger rides, Th13teen was her first one so I'll always have a soft spot for it. As far as the Dungeon. Ive been in every one in the UK except the Alton one, big fan in general & have been to some several times but it is paying for it over & above the price already paid that puts me off also that it takes time away from going on the rides. I'm curious what they have that is different but doubt I'd go unless it was absolutely pissing down.
The upcharge has always put me off too. I’m curious once this scarefest overlay is complete. Will it return to the dungeon and will they still charge? I mean it’s basically a re theme on the two boat rides they had that used to be free! 🙈
No pizza by Goodfellas has been any good, but I would have given it a whirl! 10k subs by January isn’t ridiculous at all; in fact I’d say it’s totally attainable given the quality and dedication of your output! Would love to see you cover the other more major UK parks and potentially even the bigger ones abroad too 🙂 but hey, please do whatever you wanna do! Also I never experienced Galactica’s VR but the Kraken one if anything to go by was awful; I love the notion of it but poorly executed and maintained
Pity that New Merlin CEO Scott O'neil doesn't want to spend on the uk attractions as the return for money is too low for him, so they are focusing on the american and european attractions moving forward **Sobs**
The 2010’s for me marks the decline of the park. Lots of penny pinching and lack of maintenance really took its toll on the presentation of the park. In the current decade, I think they are starting to rejuvenate the park. What worries me is that Towers biggest coasters are going to reach their end of life in quick succession as many were built in the early 2000’s. Oblivion will be reaching its 30th in a few more years. X-sector is looking rather worn now compared to the new Forbidden Valley.
For sure. And Merlin have apparnetly said they are investing overseas first. I can’t see oblivion getting the same treatment as nemesis and I’d rather they removed it (unless of course they extend it). Will be interesting to see if Universal happens, because surely that’ll cause a tonne of investment to compete?
@@coaster_dad I don’t think people would want all the old rides to be replaced like for like. It wouldn’t make much business sense. If Universal happens, it will be make or break for Towers. Either Merlin will step up, or Universal will wipe the floor with them.
Galactica with VR really was not worth the effort. Aside from the awful impact on capacity, the VR was glitchy, meaning the movement through the VR often didn't match the real-life movement of the ride. Even when it worked, there was no story, just a series of short set pieces (flying through space, an ice planet etc). It was OK as a short lived novelty, but it was always going to be a short-lived thing
This Era was the most nostalgic era for me because i first went on the 80s Concert Day. Great Video bringing back loads of memories
Glad you enjoyed 😀

Awesome. Some great rides this decade. Last part drops on Sunday.

@danielward4868 yikes. Sounds like I didn’t miss much then.

Yeah not the best start for sure 🙈

I remember waiting in a 2 hour queue for the smiler. There were people handing out promotional boxes of Krave cereal bites 🤣
How random 😂
@@coaster_dad filled our pockets and meant we didn’t need snacks on the way up the road to Edinburgh 🤣
@@RossMuirhead nice 😂

🙈 oops.
I want to say that in 2016 they launched the towers loving care social media profile to show that the where fixing a lot of the more run down areas.
Indeed 😀
loving this series so far, can’t wait for next episode 👍
Thank you. Final part on Sunday 😀
early! always a good day when coaster dad uploads! im so glad ive been recommended this because im really interested in this topic!
Glad you are enjoying them. One more to come on Sunday 😀
@@coaster_dad cant wait! 😀
The burger kitchen near Th13teen reminds me of the whole 2010 era 😂
😂😂
Went there recently, they still have the promotional art for Air and the original Nemesis Sub-Terra up on the wall lmao

What's with the dance track over the 00s ?
Ha ha. Still learning/experimenting. It’s much more subtle in the newer videos 😉

Thank you so much. I’m hoping to do more parks assuming I can dig up enough info of course 😀
Also get rid of the Dungeon they took out an dark ride for an up charge experience
Yeah I never understood how sea life is free and the dungeon is not! Makes no sense!
Air was so bad with head sets and I know the name I should call it but it’s always Air to me
Yeah everyone said it was pretty bad 🙈

Will be interesting to see how much we get in the next few years since nemesis, Hyperia and mini figures etc are all done now.

Yeah seems no one was a massive fan 🤷♂️
