Bro. I'm a local and know Todd. You were fishing some of our best local stuff in the back of that marina. Good job finishing it. We fish with 20lb test in there and a shakehead for the same reason you found out. Haha Tough event. Good luck bro.
Great video Bud. It's kind of refreshing to see the struggles as well. Good reminder that not all days are slug fests. Hey, you beat Scott though. That's gotta help ease some of the pain.
I watched and am subscribe to the whole crew and obviously it was super tough for all of you. Kind of obvious with all the rods on deck that you were not dialed in. Those fish breaking your line would keep me up at night wondering how big they were and if better tackle prep or easier hook sets (on the offshore spinning rod) would have changed the end result. Don't get me wrong, Scott also broke one off. Anyway, I am a new subscriber and enjoyed your video. Best of luck on Lay!
All i ever do is run those marinas. Spoon, underspin, swimbait. I imagine they were pretty crowded during this derb. Lake is good for one day or small field of boats.
Man...If I broke off that many times in fun fishing I would go home strip all my line from my rods and learn some new knots ..let alone a Tournament !!!
As I contemplate fishing tourneys next season it’s cool to learn the etiquette required and expected from tourney fisherman. Awesome to learn that stuff. Man a lot goes into what you do. And what set up did you have on the spinning rigs you used. Thanks for the vid. Learned a lot.
I dont know if youll read this or not. But my goodness. Ive never broken off that many times in a tournament.? Was it your knot? Or is that strike king tournament flouro dropping the ball? Geez louise. Keep up the hard work. Love the vids. Happy holidays brother.
I read all comments, good or bad. I honestly haven’t ever broken off that many times in a tournament either! I think a lot had to do with the type of cover I was fishing around and trying to fish too light of line. I was mainly using 6lb fluorocarbon (spinning) and fishing around metal is a bad combo for that size line. Learned my lesson for sure. Happy Holidays to you as well!
Dude..I think most of us like to see the struggles to.. that all tournaments ain't just slaying therm.. that everyone hits the struggle bus..btw I seen you cpl times during the derby but didn't want to be the fan boy lol..
@@AndrewUpshawFishing one of these times I will.. it was pretty crazy at weigh in then was right across from toy st Mc Ds.. but I was like dude just wants to eat another time
Really would like to hear why u went where u went, what was there just the decision making u don't have to just show fish catches that's not what I'd like to see. Hope this helps
That was cool of you to help your co-angler land his fish day 2.
Andrew your comments 14:34 are spot on! Me and my friend call those people "Welfare Fishermen". It pretty much sums it up.
Dont think that its boring us... like you said its a challenge. We want to learn how you breakdown the challenge. That makes it entertaining.
That’s a tough lake anytime man. I live 10 mins from there, and always go somewhere else! Lol. Keep up the hard work! 👊
The thing is it don’t matter what happens, the grind don’t stop. Way to work man
No doubt!

Hahaha! Congratulations on the big win! It's always great to beat a buddy. And I agree with your teaching moment. Find your own stuff.
It sure is when it's against Scott ❗👍🐟🐟
Thanks man!
They got some weird ass sounding birds at that lake. Nice video better luck next time.
That's cool as heck a big name helping a co angler land a fish , pretty cool Andrew class act.

That chaser that started marking your spots might be Dan Beard. He literally does that to everyone on the lake. He’s well known.
Tough fishing but another great video. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks Darrell!
You’ve had a great year just a lot of tough luck. Good luck at Lay Lake
It will get better! Thanks buddy

Tough day. How about those breakoffs...bummer. I still enjoy your content even when things don’t go according to plan. Keep it up.
Just part of this crazy game we play. Happens from time to time, no doubt!

Thanks buddy! I was using a Custom Pro Speed Stick Dock Sniper Rod and Custom Pro 300 size spinning reel.
You have like 30 rods out on the deck, I take six..Damnit boy!
I was a little bit over prepared! Lol
One thing about it, you have a lot of witnesses to that $20 bet!
Yes I do!

Did you upgrade your leader line ?
I did. Upsized up to 10lb
You are just showing Scott how it's done 😂😂
Right? Lol
Are you allowed to use the A rig in these tournaments?
We aren’t.

Hope to get a chance to talk to you at Lay Lake
