- Walls of Acre is a song performed by me and Shredy Jabarin. I composed the music based on a poem written by Shredy. We travelled between worlds to make this intercultural project happen.
Acre or Akko or Akka is a city famous for its strong wall. The song is an anti-war anthem, telling the story of a complex reality in the Middle East.

This is about dealing with manifold identities, formed as social, cultural and political by our limiting constraints; about our longing for an universal solution to overcome unintended distance. This is about the complexity of life opposed by controlled and directed perception. We dedicate this video to those that find themselves caught up in between the beauty of life and merciless reality.

How sweet the sleepy robes were
torn up out of Europe's breast
in a middle eastern autumn night.
I wanted to sing about the walls of Acre
about the market, the carpet of Aljazar Mosque
about Ramadan, the night and the sight.
But I sing about babies armed with
plastic guns, knives and grenades
that in time grow into metal.
Between the pauses of Om Kultum
in the shisha cafe next to Abu George
I can still hear the voice
of Napoleon bombing the wall
while others start to rob the mall.
I want to answer the call
but I can't.

I dont know but I have a feeling the audio could be better -then again it me I rather like 200kps and ogg when I listen - Im not familiar with youtube formats but the piano keys sounds round and distorted.
Thanks for the comment! I am pretty sure youtube downgrades quality of sound and video to some extend. Btw the main instrument is Una Corda which gives a different timbre then piano.
