Came back to watch this one after your recommendation! Certainly looks class! Thanks man 🙌🏼
No worries mate!!
Just looked these guys up over the weekend. Came to UA-cam for some info before I move forward and voila! Thanks for this!
No worries, glad it was useful. I have a video comparing this to DJ City coming out later today!
What a legend. Thank you for helping me choose zip dj. You are doing gods work 😄 Liked & Subbed
Glad the video was useful!! Enjoy
Thanks for this bro! God bless! 😊🙏🏻❤
Glad you enjoyed!
Looks like a good record pool. This would be ideal to get tracks for a one off gig where you may not have the genre they are after. Good video mate.
I agree! It’s a great pool for sure!!
Great job!
Thank you mate!
Great one thanks will take a look
Honestly is worth a look!
Might have to give it a try. Cheers for the vid!
I was well impressed mate
This is the best pool for house Music. This pool is amazing.
Agreed
I use them for all my music, brilliant site.
Has certainly impressed me
Do they have harder generes like Hard House, Progressive Techno and Psy Trance ??
Gave it a shot, wish there were more Clean versions! I feel like DMS has the edge!
Ah fair point! Not used DMS- will have to check it out
I’m wanting to subscribe, but I’m new to this , don’t do social media or anything online , and no proof of me djing, so will I struggle with my membership?
I love zipdj I just wish it had some Brazilian funk.
That could be a problem for them if you cant browse there music selection without having to subscribe first. Great review broham!
Thank you mate!!
I am a reggae music guy and African music. Which dj pool would you recommend?
hi guys nice vidéo 👍. And what about the mashup, DJ edit and remix or Acapellas on this pool ??
It’s okay…doesn’t have as many as other record pools. It does have intro versions and Acapella’s it does do well on. Check out themashup.co.uk for a site dedicated to mashups and remixes- I have done a review on this channel
Is there another service you can recommend that is cheaper? And also one that lets me download individual tracks as many as I want and mine to keep whether I remain a member or not. I haven't been in the record pool in decades is it still like that? Or is it more like a streaming service where are you have to pay to play? I don't want to download MP3s or digital files that will stop working if I no longer am a member. Is there any site that will allow me to keep the tracks indefinitely? Thank you very much. I am a mobile DJ so I need a little bit of every genre
All tracks you download from record pools will let you keep the tracks when you are no longer a member as they are physically downloaded files onto your laptop. Beatsource and Beatport link are streaming services which don’t allow this. In terms of something a bit cheaper, perhaps look at bpm supreme- large music catalogue including a lot of older music which you could need? and unlimited download plans for the same price as a zip Dj capped plan.
do we get intro outro on the site or all are clean versions?
Intro/Outros of some tracks are available as are clean versions
i use the mashup uk due to the vast collection and other stuff like stings and and transitions handy kit
Nice one mate! I also have a review of their pool on this channel! It’s a good site!
Hi Karl, how are they on brand new releases? Did you notice if they’re listing stuff that drops immediately? For example, I like to download and own a lot of tracks from labels such as Toolroom or Defected the day that they drop for public purchase, which of course you can do by purchasing directly from Beatport…
Really good question and pretty unique point- whilst they seem pretty on the ball with a lot of releases they may not be as quick as the online stores like Beatport.
@@djkarlthomas awesome thanks Karl, I’d definitely sign up to zipDJ even if it’s to pick up hidden gems and older classics en mass and still buy my fresh weekly releases off beatport
@@JamesFoxx nice one mate, hope it works out for you and it has what you need!!
Does Zip DJ have a strong pool of trap/rap music?
I need some help here. I am looking for a DJ pool that has the most older songs (70's-90's) remixes and with the intros and outtros. i have alot from my old itunes account however they are radio edits. I have BPM supreme cause was told that was the best however I'm not finding that many. I mean they only have one La bouche song, really? I was shocked. DJPool Streaming is the best imo (I use VDJ and use that streaming in the software at 10 bucks a month with so many remixes it perfect). however, its only for streaming and I want to own the songs. I want good quality so im not wanting to rip anything. What do you suggest? If BPM supreme is the best for that then it is what it is.
for older things BPM supreme has the most. All the other pools I have come across deal with very fresh music only. Have a look at mastermixdj.com they used to do loads of older collections too
I've heard a few DJs on UA-cam doing a lot of 80's 90's stuff, and they never did say what record pool they were using. I wish they would've.
✓ Is BPM Supreme the only one that has the older stuff or the most of it ?
@@djkarlthomas Great..i will try this one too! Thanks!
As I mentioned- it’s generally a bit harder to get older stuff on record pools due to agreements with labels. BPM supreme does have more than others but mastermix has the best amount of older collections
@@djkarlthomas thank you, mastermixdj is what I was searching for🙏
Any good for a psytrance DJ?
I would recommend buying individual tracks for very niche genre's
Im a new DJ where do i start
All depends where you are in your dj journey. I have lots of videos for new DJs on this channel. Try this one ua-cam.com/video/vTYSI5HXMNo/v-deo.html
Any record pool that you recommend for mp4?
I don't really use Mp4 files so not sure unfortunately
@@djkarlthomas thanks for answering
hi Karl,
do you have a recommendation for a record pool for wedding dj's?
whether its original tracks for weddings but, more specifically, intro edits of songs that could be considered wedding classics (abba, Elton John, boney m, daft punk, groove armada, bee gees, Kylie Minogue, earth wind & fire etc)
thanks for the review on zipdj, super helpful!
Hey- thank you for the kind words and glad you thought the video was helpful. For wedding DJ's it is tougher as a lot of the DJ pools are considered as promo sites and often it's just the newer stuff they have. Record labels often don't allow them to cover older stuff. BPM supreme does seem to have the most when it comes to classics/ older music however also consider Master Mix DJ. They have collections to cover many occasions. Pro disc for a collection of current stuff and essential hits to cover off different occasions. They also have packs of 100 songs for £30 covering off 80's/ Motown etc so its pretty good value. mastermixdj.com/
Apart from this- itunes/ Amazon is still a good source for those classics which the pools don't cover and at an affordable price per download
@@djkarlthomas thanks for the quick reply mate, great info. thanks!
I have a folder of literally thousands of old tracks for wedding Djing that was handed down to me by a DJ that did weddings for 24 years; so if you need any tracks lemme know lmfao he literally gave me everything like the tracks by artists you aforementioned.
@@austinlmadeit hey. i would love to have that 😁
@@kaligean777 Hi I will export all the files from the external hard drive and then compress it into a zip folder and upload it on my drive. Bear with me it is quite large lol, it will likely take me a day or so to upload it all. It's got everything from country to 2000s dance to hard rock to 90's rap/hits to literally polka lmaoooo but all the classics people at weddings love.
Can someone give me their personal recommendation on comparing this pool to DJ City, BPM Supreme and Heavy Hits? I have subs with all three, but getting bored with DJ City and considering dropping it and replacing it with this one...I'll do the trial for Zip, but I always like to hear other DJ's opinions as well...My main style is remixed versions of Hip-Hop & old school Hip-Hop (90's and 2000's-Hence my subs to the above mentioned record pools), old school and new school booty, remixed Hip-Hop House/Deep House, and any kind of Hip-Hop House Banger, with multiple edits and full remixed versions as well. Also, I always need a record pool with samples and DJ Tools as well. Thx for any intel!
*EDIT*
I just read one of your responses to someone's question and you referred Themashup record pool to them...I've heard of it but never went on their site, sounds like it might be right up my alley for my style of music that I primarily focus on, so I am beginning to look into that record pool as well...
There aren’t many remixes of old hip hop on Zip DJ- it’s probably the best for electronic music. I have a review of the mashup on this channel if you wanted to check it out.
@@djkarlthomas I am watching it as we speak lol, and thank u for dedicating a lot of your precious time into helping others with your very insightful and informative videos! I've also been watching your tutorials on mixing in Ableton Live, which has been extremely helpful as I try to decide on a DAW to dive into (between Ableton and Logic Pro X)...Much respect and appreciation brotha!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you like them!
Is this site good for house , funky house etc,,,,,,, got a huge list but don’t want to subscribe if they don’t have what I want…………it’s 30 a month
Yep very good for dance music I find. You can always try for a month and cancel if you don’t like it. They don’t make you sign up for a minimum term
I have a list of a hundred funky house , groovy house , soul jazz funk,,,,So once I’m in zipdj can I just put the name of the track in the search bar and hopefully it will find it ?
Thanks for reply…..
@@gazog1 it won’t have everything but as I say in this review, it’s pretty well covered for newer house stuff which can be found on beatport. No record pool is good for older stuff as they are for promo use only so focus on newer tracks
😂
I didn't like it I prefer bpm supreme
That’s fair enough. Everyone has a preference. Thank you for watching mate!
so you have to prove your a professional dj and you have to pay them to seems a bit messed up if you was a big name dj you wouldn't need to pay as you would be getting everything as promotional copies anyway, if you are paying why do you need to prove anything its not like there even cheap compared to the others on the market so they can justify having to approve you because they offer at a lower price so you need to justify to them your acceptence. while I am not an expert on Dj pools yet but seeing as you are paying I was under the impression you don't need to justify them accepting you, there offering a service that you pay for, do other pools force this on you to justify yourself???? I play mainly house and techno and got told that Zip Dj was good for this but I am not about to try to beg them for acceptance are there any dj pools that offer decent house and techno selection that you don't have to do this begging. I don't want to stream anything only download and own.
If you want to download and own music the concept of paying for music is hardly anything new…artists make the music which you want to play/ keep so they deserve to be paid a royalty for music for their production. It’s no different to when you went into a store and bought a CD/vinyl- just more affordable.
Most music pools do ask for proof you are djing as they often get music ahead of general release. Promotional services also do exist for DJs where you can get certain releases for free in exchange for feedback however for these you have to provide even more proof you are a working dj.
Do not buy a subscription with Zip DJ!
- It is overpriced
- They will steal your money (you cannot cancel if you're not happy with it)
- Their music selection is not as good as they pretend - so many songs are missing
- The songs are always cut out.
Never had any of these issues myself…and yes you can cancel if you aren’t happy unless you subscribe for a 3 month or a year upfront. In all my videos my advice is to buy into record pools on a monthly basis as that way if you find it doesn’t meet your needs after sometime you can cancel.
zip dj is rubbish if you want music and you aint a working dj.
If they want to do a model like that then its their loss.
Iits like having busses for bus drivers or shoes only for shoe makers only.
Pathetic
ZIPDJ has been the most helpful pool for me. The yearly subscription with unlimited downloads is a great deal!
Nice one mate!! Zip is definitely my go to!
Unlimited downloads is the deal. Paying per song is not a good option unless you only want less songs than the price per month for one month and i doubt anyone fits that category.
man i signed up for ZipDJ and They would not Refund my money or Allow me to Cancel membership, now they had lots of music, But Not the most professional in Business, i had to Contact my bank for Follow up on Cancellation,
why did you want to cancel?
Cancelled BPM Supreme when I got ZipDJ
Nice! I love Zip, hope you do too!
