- In this episode I talk about the UA-cam algorithm and a new Prog band from New Jersey: The Inquisition. Their debut album, The Magi Of Kent, comes out March 1st. Here's the music video to "In The Glade": • The Inquisition - In T...
Hey Scot,
My name is Emilia and I’m the keys/violin player for the Inquisition. We are beyond humbled to receive your generous feedback on your platform and this is a project that we’re honored to present to the world. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and share our music with the prog universe!
I’m happy to help spread the word. Something is happening in Hackettstown.
This video showed up third on my homepage, and I am subscribed.
Yes!!!!
Thanks for the encouragement. For me as a small channel, a 100 views is a bonanza. Hard to even imagine getting to a point where thousands watch. But, I did hit 100 subscribers today, so that's something to celebrate.
Nice!!!!
I like your attitude of embracing the algorithms. Whenever people get uptight about facebook, I'm always like "CREATE YOUR OWN REALITY" by telling the algorithms what's up!
I live in my own reality bubble.
Hats off to any young artists who want to write and perform new music in the classic Prog format. Fabulous that Scot.
But we love all music , so branching out to similar ' progressive ' music is completely awesome , absolutely nothing to fear and amazing music is heard across all genres. Great video Scot !! 😍🎵🎵🤘
They are young and awesome!!!!
I come here for the discussion of Venn diagrams. And I am interested in the new musicians and your willingness to promote them.
Kudos Scot
Hey Scott continued success and to our brother Andy and Pete and Barry Robinson. I enjoy them all. Also I want to give a shout out to the inquisition young Prague rockers from my own home state of New Jersey. I love it, and I gotta hear their music man can’t keep those good jersey men down, yeah and if you have any further advice, I’m trying to expand my singer songwriting stuff That I’ve been at a very, very long time and if you have any advice, don’t really wanna do a full podcast but I wanna get it saturated across all of the different platforms and beat novel and unique. OK my friend don’t have to answer that last one, but God bless you. Peace in the Middle East and keep rocking.
Thanks, Jerry!!! It’s gotta be a labor of love!!!!❤️
I was no good at algorithm, trigonometry, calculus, or logarithms at school. I have late diagnosed discalcular. So I tune into you because you are good at what you do!
👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🐍🐍🐍
All cylinders hit alert. As a listener, the YT algorithm seems to be the best of them all, for me. I'd say 75% of the suggestions have merit and I listen to everything from classical to protoprogsymphpunk and ten ways back. I enjoy Pete Pardo, Fil at Wings Of Pegasus, composers, teachers, wisefolk and a host of other people who produce content on topics I'm interested in. Subscribed to The Inquisition. Definitely good fresh music from young creators. So thanks for that. Gonna track the live performance now. Cheers. ♪♫♪
I like your positive attitude about the algorithm you can't let it get to you too much, at least I think so.
I agree!!!!
The internet is the new Casey Jones -Steamin' and a Rollin' on express tracks. Cool advice as usual. Off to check out The Inquisition.......nobody expects the spanish inquisition.
Big brother is always watching. Your show is always entertaining. Prog on.
Thank you!!!

Alright. I love your content. Recently subbed. Can you explain the snakes and save King Chucky? 😂
I went back to your old videos, trying to find when you started doing that and why....and I still got nothing
It started about 18 months ago when I signed off with “God Save The King” and it morphed slowly into the monstrosity currently on display.
@TheProgCorner That's hilarious. I love it...I can't lie.
I watched your first few videos on this channel and you were so subdued and way more mello...it caught me off guard 😆
It took you a little to find your voice but I'm glad you found it and embraced the weird
Of the 16 recommendations, 7 are from Channels I subscribe to, one being yours Scott.
Awesome!!!!!!
What a fantastic video as always Scot have a great weekend ❤😊 old friend ❤😊
Thank you!!!
It's true. The algorithms decided I liked prog and sent me here. I'm dreading when it decides I love Steely Dan.
Hmmmmmm
Very cool of you to promote a totally unsolicited band.
As far as all the UA-camy talk I don't really care about all of that. I've been watching you for 2 years now and I watch because you hold my interest. I suppose I found you through SOT? A suggestion from the algorithm perhaps? IDK. All I do know is that I've whittled it down to three that I watch regularly. Maybe not everything that Andy does but I pick and choose. But you and Barry are the ones I like the most. I'll watch other music related stuff that pops up on UA-cams "suggestions" once in a while. Generally speaking they are usually stuff that I like so I'm happy that the computer Gods do that for me. I used to read magazines now I watch you Scot.
Yeah!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
The Inquisition look like a great band from the cd cover i hope that
they make it and i try to understand the algorithm best i can but I
enjoy watching and listening about music thanks Scott.🎶📻🎶

The day has almost come and gone without a review of Universe Room. It's kinda Prog adjacent!
I got it yesterday so I’m still digesting it. This is a weird one!!!!
Your stuff shows up very fast.. Great to see the Dixie Dregs on display.. Do you have Dregs of Earth lp ?
I used to!!!! Right now I just have the first two!!!!
@@TheProgCorner Night of the Living Dregs is good as well ..Long Slow Distance is a unique song ...
Mike Ratledge from Soft Machine passed away yesterday, a tribute will be nice, after all this the prog corner
Hey, Scot, this is slightly off topic, but I am sure that you're always looking for content ideas. I would love to see you interview the guys from Glass Hammer, especially since they just announced a new album. Keep up the good work.
I’ve ignored those guys long enough!!!! Definitely doing a GH ranking this year at the very least!!!
Brilliant video, Scot. I'm so glad you didn't edit it because it shows that you don't, and you are the real deal. I don't edit my videos, and if I make a mistake, which I do all the time, I just leave it. We're only human.
That’s right!!!! You’re the best!!!!
The algo brought me to Robert Pollard!
Yes!!! God bless Uncle Bob!!! And the algorithm.
@@TheProgCorner Just kidding. I am a HUGE fan like you. I love your broad range of music tastes. Keep up the great work! Headed to see DT Monday. Great review of their new LP with MP back!
I guess the algorithm decided l would like your stuff, you get fed what you’ve sown!
That’s right. The algorithm did you good!!!
👍☮️👑🐍🙏😎
Howdy!!!
UA-cam algorithms have been useful to me in the past but not for quite a while, you have to be careful what you click on or you'll get loads more showing up.
That is true!!!
Diversify your content if you want, Scott....but I draw the line at The Prog Cookery Corner !
Until you start promoting Mew I'm going to keep questioning the algorithm
I do like them. But I gotta get on a kick, you know? Run through the whole discography anew.
@ I’ll send you a list of their best to get you on the right track
@ Best Mew songs: Comforting Sounds (not the radio edit), She Came Home from Christmas, Eight Flew Over, One was Destroyed, Behind the Drapes, Snow Brigade, 156, Am I Wry No?, Chinaberry Tree, Why Are You Looking So Grave?, Apocalypso (my fav), Special, Zookeeper’s Boy, A Dark Design, The Seething Rain Weeps for You, White Lips Kissed, Louise Louisa, Beach, Intermezzo 1, Silas The Magic Car, Cartoons and Macrame Wounds, Saliva, Satellites, the Night Believer, Water Slides, Cross The River on Your Own, Nothingness and No Regrets, Ay, Ay, Ay, Learn Our Crystals, Shoulders, Carry Me to Safety. The reason I go to this length to influence you Scot, you who are the most entertaining and knowledgeable arbiter of prog, is that you will respect my effort to let you know I love these guys as much as Bowie, Yes, Zappa and Genesis
I thought you meant "Aldo Rhythms." (joke)
Peace on earth.
Aldo Nova?
38s ago..
🤣🤣
Scot - have you heard about a music, film and culture You Tube channel called 20th Century Music & Arts? It's presented by an American chap called James Waller and it is EXCELLENT! I've just watched his 6 part history of progressive rock + a superb evaluation of The Groundhogs and I invite you and your audience to check him out. I recommend his channel highly.
As for the YT algorithm, well, I despise it. Being run by woke progressive loony lefties, it makes searching for certain videos and bands (including UNIT whose pro-Christian, pro-Israel, conservative politics are well known) very difficult at times. Maybe we can persuade Elon Musk to buy You Tube as well.
Ha ha!
U R Gen U wine. SLADE coulda dun a song.
I like that!!!!!
@TheProgCorner huge SLADE fan
I come here for the discussion of Venn diagrams. And I am interested in the new musicians and your willingness to promote them.

I know, that was a really lame attempt!!!
