What did you think of the results from the Epson Perfection v39 II scanner? For the latest price here is the Amazon link (commissions earned) ➡ geni.us/hGban
Thanks! I just purchased one (before I found your video), but it isn't working. It looks like you are running Windows 11 like I am. Is that true and did you have any problems getting it to connect? I've tried it on two different Windows machines (one that is virtually brand new - so not stuffed with too many drivers/etc.) and with two different USB cables . The install works fine, but the unit just blinks and running the scan software failss. Reading on-line reviews tends to indicate they have software issues, but your video gives me hope that maybe I can figure out the magic needed to get the blue light to stop blinking and get to scan some things 🙂
I'm having the same problem using it with a brand new Microsoft Surface Laptop. I think the problem is using it with the ARM processor, not WIndows II. Epson support told me that they don't have a driver for the ARM processor. No wonder it was reduced in price so much!
@@JohnAMozzer FWIW, I got mine working. It turns out that it was not a software problem after all (except for the bad software design where there was no error information to tell me what was actually wrong - just a dumb blinking light). Here's what I found: The scanner bar that is supposed to move was stuck. I noticed it was slightly angled at the front of the unit - so I figured maybe I could 'unstick it'. Being resigned to trying to fix it myself (and not try to return it), I slammed the unit on a carpeted floor in such a way that I thought it might free itself. It didn't, but apparently it was enough to get the motor to do the rest. I started filming a video to show a before and after taking it apart to try to fix it manually from the inside, and during the filming, it decided to work. I think it is a fragile mechanical design. That may account for some of the intermittent problems reported in reviews too...
@@MegawattKS thank you. I'm glad that you found a solution to your problem. My Epson Perfection V39 II scanner works fine on two other computers (an iMac and a Windows computer with Intel processor). So I still think the ARM processor on my new Windows laptop is the issue in my case.

Exactly the type of review I was looking for! Thanks for showing the process and the Quality of the result - Love the way the moons came out! Cheers!
You're welcome, and thanks!
Hi, how do you shut off the scanner other than pulling out the USB cable.
Thank You .
You are welcome!

Good question.
