"Grazie" fucking kills me every time 😂
Came here to say the same lol
You speak Italian second best.
Arrivederchi!!
GorlAmi 😂
As an italian, every fucking time that GRAZI(E) kills me.
Germans speaking German, French speaking French, English speaking English, Landa speaking all of them and Italian
so he's your average Swiss person
triggered all Australian with that @@GwaiZai
@@Licw-Luxus Did uh... did you mean Austrian per chance?😂
@@GwaiZaiYeap...I have a Swedish friend his fluent in four languages. Yes, it's a Swiss thing. They're highly educated, for the most part.
@@louisefecentese8109mmmh Swedish is from Sweden and Swiss is from Switzerland… Is not really the same, but we are used to 😂
Anything Waltz is in, just give him the Oscar.
True❤️
Zou hij van dansen houden?
He got one.
@@maryeliason1504 He has two of them actually. Both from QT films
Have you seen Carnage by Polanski ?
Best fake Italian I have ever heard
Indeed.
Right
Christoph was the greatest find of the last 20 years
He’s been around a lot longer than 20 years. Appeared in an Aussie mini series years ago as an immigrant put in detention during the war. He was young & great in that.
@@ingleton20 Yes, I know he's been working regularly since the late 70s, mostly in his native Germany, but what I intended was he wasn't known to Hollywood/American audiences until 2009's Inglorious Basterds, which catapulted him into a new stratosphere in his career and awareness. Tarantino is credited as 'discovering' him and giving him the audience and career he deserved. (and 20 sounds better than 15).
@@ericolivencia He is from Austria not Germany.
@@paddynemo5411 fair enough
@@paddynemo5411 same thing
Well, that "fake" Italian is very, very good!
I feel personally if you know one romance language you know them all, you just have to put in the work.
@@nikkisantana1416 If you put in the work, you can speak Chinese as well.
He learned the sentence by heart, and very well. His real Italian is very basic.
@@nikkisantana1416, don't be so sure. I challenge you to learn to speak Romanian. Even if you know any other Latin language, this will finish you off. There is a reason why this language is the second most difficult in the world.
@@UmbraFulguri knew people from Romania and Moldova who easily spoke 4-5 eruropean languages. I guess if your first language is Romanian it’s easy to learn Spanish Italian French
His long dialog with the French farmer at the beginning of the movie was marvelous 👌
It was a terrifying power move.
Very tense and powerful scene!
Waltz is a master class actor.
Christoph Waltz, my favorite villain.
This, now that Alan Richman is gone.
Christoph owns his roles.
He is one of the best actors of the last 10-15 years. I would like to say he disappears into every role, like a Gary Oldman, but he doesn’t. He stands out, but bc he absolutely murders every role I’ve seen him play.
I wonder why no Oscar nomination for "Alita: Battle Angel."
That man is *naturally* elegant and sharp. Intentional and precise.
Brad is good-looking and charming - but he couldn’t *ACT* that level of elegance. (Nor could many Hollywood actors.) Great clip to appreciate Christoph.
They were great as opposing forces in this movie. Waltz was cold, calculating, and strategic, and Pitt was...well, really fucking American, lol.
Brad is a fantastic actor and he could do a high level of elegance if he wanted to - but his character in that movie was coarse and brutal, and Pitt did it perfectly.
@@OccamKant yeah, he surely could....... like he could've in his last 40 years of acting... oh wait
@@OccamKantBrad Pitt will never be a craftsman like waltz, it was never his forte. His boyish charm and good looks is 90% of it
@@ScrootummImho he’s the biggest fraud in the acting establishment.
That's a BINGO!!!
Just say Bingo.
Best line in the movie. A n d " that's a
BINGO ".
@@karenkrey7941 Really? Best line? Not "Warum haben Sie Ihre Walther auf mein Hoden gerichtet"??
I was terrified 🥺and then I had to remember that it was a movie! He played that part !!!
Waltz is outstanding 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
“Banjorrno!”😂😂😂
I LOVE Waltz! We need him in more movies and series! He's amazing to watch!
When I was young, he played a murderous pedo in a German crime series. That's why I never liked him later. I can't forget the slimy pedo.
Many european speak 2-5 Launguage very good or even native
Easily one of the best movies ever made and Christopher Waltz was the best performance in that film.
GRAZIE
a true american
You can tell he is an incredibly humble man. I really like this dude.
Waltz is fantastic: he is the BEST EXPORT we have here in Austria (since Falco, Mozart and weirdo-Schwarzenegger)
Mozart? Oh really… not!
Ah, yes. My dear, sweet Falco. 🎶🎹🖤
Mozart & Falco, both "Prides of Austria".
Born almost exactly 200 years apart, can you imagine what other pieces of art Mozart and Falco had the potential to compose had they not passed away and was at 35 & 40, respectively?
@@SisuGirl That is exactly what I always think: Why do the greatest talents always have to leave earth too soon?
why weirdo?
@@AndreaAustoni banging your cleaning lady and hiding the son qualifies you for 100% weirdo. wouldnt trust that person for one second.

That scene when he exposes the guys by speaking an extra language was fucking brilliant! I laughed so hard!
I love how english speakers are impressed by people speaking multiple languages.
Honestly, they try teaching us French German and Spanish and it's either the teachers are terrible or the is something in us that just refuses to learn because i can't remember i damn thing from school
English is not cultured or interesting compared to other languages.
No, we are fascinated with those who can act in a different language so effortlessly. We are a country full of immigrants after all at least for me I deal with language barriers all the time.
I'm impressed with anyone that can just speak English-a very bizarre language.
Every big country is like that. It is possible, easy even, to live your entire life in the US and never need to speak a foreign language. Most countries in Europe are tiny by physical comparison. Necessity leads to learning foreign languages. If you go to Spain you'll find it is more like the US in the number of people that only speak Spanish, because the country is quite large (for Europe).
I admit I was stereotyping when I assumed that many fans would not put up with subtitles. I’d much rather read subtitles than hear dubbing. Though Waltz could do his own!
And he does! Most foreign movies are dubbed in Germany and as far as I know he always dubs himself.
Waltz is amazing
Mr. Waltz at its best!!!
"Grazie."
Christoph W really one of the best actor.
I live his voice with all
The languages he speaks ❤ everything he plays in is great !!❤
In Europe speaking at least two languages is completely normal.
Not true in the UK or USA, sadly unless you're an immigrant.
To be fair, for most people that second language will be English, because it has kind of become the universal language. When my parents went on vacation in Italy for the first time, most of the people in the touristy areas would be able to speak German and for those who didn't, the tourists would pick up a few words of Italian. Nowadays everybody just starts to talk in English to each other.
We learn to European languages in school in Greece... English and we choose between French or German... It s the least for us to speak two European languages...
Waltz's procnunciation of italian is actually pretty good, Pitt's is ridiculous (even though, in all fairness, Pitt's might have intentionally sounded bad for the sake of the scene)
no shit
duh
Christoph looks like he always smells great.
Also he's wonderful in Downsizing, a fantastically weird little (no pun intended) movie 😀
"no pun intended"? haha.
Amazing flick. Vastly underrated.
I'll never forget the moment in that movie when Hans landa begins speaking Italian, to everyone's surprise. It was shocking, hilarious.. only Tarantino can create a movie moment like that. Nobody on planet Earth can do what he does
lol shut up
Yes! And no one can deliver Tarantino dialogue quite like Christoph Waltz, it seems so effortless for him and my god is he captivating. They are a powerhouse duo.
I think Tarantino would not agree.
His pronunciation is perfect in every language he speaks, not one error.
Flawless👏
@@laurienchen2000 The actors just have to take the dialogue coaching seriously ;-)
“Like I said, third best.”
The dude knew zero Italian but still he pronounced his Italian name the best and earned a par on the back from Hans Landa

"Si... uhhh.... correc-toe"
Bravo!
Me encanta Waltz como actor.
I LOVVVVVE THE WAY BRAD PITT'S Character Pronounces things in the movie 😂😂🤣 "NAT-zi"
My dad, English and born in 1934, so he should have known better, pronounced it 'naz-eye'. I cringed every time 😏
@Angela-382 It's Funny In The Movie...His character 😆
Everytime i see Mr. Christopher Waltz my mind go back almost 20 years ago to remember that beloved show DER COMISSAR REX the chapter "The Doll Shop Master" back in 2004 in Vienna Osstereich-Austria...go find it in You Tube my friends all the seasons are perfect...🇲🇽✌😎
Waltz is the most gay-looking non-gay man ever in history. He is FABULOUS.
Agreed, he is everyone’s dream
That's the slight Viennese dialect you can hear. It sounds so decadent and a little gay. The only dialect I actually love.
Btw Walz is from Austria. Not from Germany.
And yes, it's not the same. Even if Austria would like to be part of a influential nation😘
True, he's from Austria and spent all his childhood and youth in Vienna. That being said, his father was German and applied for German citizenship for Christoph. So legally, he has German AND Austrian citizenship.
@@mistym0rning That´s because the law is different in Austria and Germany.
In Austria the mother´s nationality is automatically valid for the child and in Germany it´s the father´s nationalty which is automatically valid for the child. So the father just had - to collect - the German citizenship for his son with no fulfilling any requirements unless being his father..
Therefore in that particular case it is very easy to have 2 citizenships which is usually not that easy in both countries at all.
Imagine the father would have been Austrian and the mother would have been German then it wouldn´t had worked that way but it would had been a bit complicated not undoable but lot´s of paperwork..because the mother then had to apply for Austrian citizenship - after Christoph´s birth - as well for the same outcome, which is no problem when married to an Austrian but it´s more complicated.
But Waltz stated several times that he is a proud Austrian who happens to have additionally a German passport as well.
Wow, I just wanted to be a smart aleck. Couldn't know I am going to be lectured 😅 thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Oh, I think they were "influential" enough in the last century. Maybe taking a break is not a terrible idea...
@@latze74 indeed. But Austria is always looking up to its big brother.
Another level Christoph 🔥
Christoph Waltz!! What a great actor!
It is because of people like Waltz that I'm both a proud Italian and European. I speak Italian, French, and Swiss German. Though like Waltz, I want to add a fourth because my Romansh isn't so bad either because of my grandma. My wish is to be able to visit every european country and be able to get by using the local language. My girlfriend is a Croat, and that is one language I'm not getting anywhere with any time soon😩
Don't worry, pal. Slavic langs are emotional while Romanics are more logical.
You'll be fine.
Try Finnish 😁
I can listen to Waltz speak German all day.
Dear all yes, he is a wonderful actor and he has a Talent for languages. By the way I was born and bread in Switzerland and many, many people over here do speak fluent Swissgerman, German, French, Italian, and of course, English. 😊😊😊
Waltz is unbelievable, what an incredible actor
he is from austria
That’s my favorite scene of the entire movie 🎬 Also when he follows up with arrivederci 😂
Especially The way Pitt replied makes it just a perfect enjoyable sarcastic right in your face scene.
😂 ... oh what a brilliant movie and a terrific clip here - thanks for the cut and post
What's the movie name?
@@judysmith3249Inglorious Basterds.
@@mr.t5262 Thank you! I appreciate you!
Another example of a WWII movie where they have everyone speak their own language, is an older one called 'La grande Vadrouille'
A fun comedy about a bunch of a British bomber crew having to eject over Paris and their crazy travel to reach the unoccupied part of France to get back to the UK in the company of two French citizens that got involved by accident.
And old one, but a good one.
So, are you an old fart, like me, or just a movie buff? A sparkling comedy, indeed - you can't go wrong putting Luis de Funes and Bourvil together in a movie.
@@latze74 well, depending on who you ask I am old indeed and starting to have some trouble with my memory or still so young and having a whole lot of life experience still to discover. The difference in opinion is between my boomer parents and my genZ oldest child.
But my xennial self got introduced to all those old French movies by my parents and I am glad they did.
They're not only fun entertainment but also gave me a bit of a window to the time spirit that was going on when my parents were young.
He deserved an Oscar! What an amazing performance
Fake Italian like real Italian
Just proves how vital his background in theatre is to his performances. So brilliantly theatrical
I forgot brad pit was in The movie
Grazie 😋
Love his character in this movie...
Pit trying to pronounce his name 'Guillaume' will forever be hilarious
And the problem is : in VO isn't respected, they did different versions for other countries
That's a Bingo!
Waltz is brilliant!
Christoph Waltz, pure talent! 👏
As a Scandinavian I am born with three languages, four if you count the second national language which we all have to learn but hate.
Then we learn English from second grade, we take German, Latin or Spanish in 8th grade and in college we can't go deeper into a language or choose a new one to learn.
Remember, bi/multilingualism is the norm in Europe, where as monolingualism is the norm in USA, so they're "shocked" when people speak more than one language.
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
LOVE Christoph Waltz! He's a GREAT actor. Plus his linguistic abilities are phenomenal!
Christoph is a fantastic actor!

Waltz is amazing!! Sets a new standard
Waltz was brilliant and this Pitt movie is one of his best.
I never know if I should comment in German or English for the German videos. Vielleicht ein bisschen von beidem... 😂
But the hand sounds at 13:48 were absolutely amazing, please do another hand sounds and movements/visual triggers video soon. 🙏
Christoph is actually Austrian, and Germans can make the difference with his German pronunciation very easily
One of my favorite movies because of the A-listers co star, Melanie shasana was so underrated
That's how every movie should do it, you ask me and then with subtitles for the country the movie is shown in.
"Inglorious bastards" did it like that but "A bridge too far" as well and to me, that's part of what makes these movies brilliant. It enhances the immersion.
It makes no sense to me to everybody in a movie speaking perfect English unless it takes place in English-speaking Countries.
Great film. ❤
