How best to give loose minerals to goats on dry lot? A big rubber dish? Mixed with something else? Daily? Video was good to note that we probably never see them eat the minerals!
If I am on a dry lot and my goats get alfalfa/hay mix, would I still get the Meat Maker? It is what I have been using just wondering if I need to switch to the other. Thanks
If your goats are getting an alfalfa/grass mix, they still get MeatMaker. The MagnumMilk has half as much calcium because it assumes that your goats are getting 100% alfalfa. We use MeatMaker year round even though our does get 100% alfalfa in winter. They are on pasture for six months of the year, with alfalfa in the barn in the evening. You want to make sure pregnant does and does in milk get enough calcium. If you only have alfalfa to feed your bucks and wethers, then oddly enough, they should have the Magnum Milk because they don't need much calcium.
I love your list and comparison of major minerals. It was so helpful. Thank you for all your great work and willingness to share.
You're welcome! We're glad to hear you found it helpful! ~Abby
