Dude you are an absolute savior. The message goes by so fast I could never see it. I think the last time I had my car serviced it got disabled. Now I know what caused this beep/message.
You just saved my wife and I a big headache. I'm guessing the dealership turned it off after the last service because it wasn't auto engaging and driving us batty. Thanks for the Vid.
This is good for snow days where you don't want it to freeze and snap. Electronic hand brakes also freeze and snap in winter weather. Never use parking brake in the snow
Unless you live where it's really hilly, it is quite dumb to activate it everywhere you park. Especially on an automatic. Just adds wear and tear to the parts involved. I turned mine off.
I keeep deactivating mine but for some reason i have to keep doing it every time i turn on and off the car its getting annoying having to deactivate it every time i turn on the car
Thank you! My 2019 has been making this squaking sound nearly every time I move into park. This was one of the ONLY sources of info I found on the web that was clear about what it was! Disengaged & taking in for a check as I think it’s dragging also.
@@jenniferstoneking5942 is the squeaking noise normal ? I got a 2020 and it makes a noise like that everytime i put it in park I just wanted to make sure it’s normal or jot
Oh my God. Thank you so much. This feature is THEE most annoying thing about any car i have ever driven in my life. I have absolutely ZERO comprehension as to why Toyota would do this. It's right up there with their ridiculous seat belts and having to pull them real slowly or they lock. Shitty engineering.

Thanks! It got disengaged after service. Glad to have it back thanks to your video.
Exact same reason I’m here. I scrolled through the settings for ages earlier 😅
Thanks. This is helpful. The e brake noise is so annoying and gets louder and louder with time.
Thank you!!! Even the dealer wouldn't divulge this.
Nice thanks my parking assistance was disabled in my 2019 Toyota rv4 I did your instructions in now I have my parking assistance work again 😂

Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot since I can't search this problem for Toyota Veloz :)

Yes, weather makes a difference. Thanks for the update.
Thank you 🙏 I wanted to deactivate it. Worked!!!
Thank you. You saved me a trip to the dealer.
Thank you! It was turned off by toyota after tire change and never turned on again
Thank you so very much. I appreciate YOU!!!! Quick and easy
Thanks for making it easy!
Thanks i was able to get it working again on my ‘22 Corolla Cross after my battery died i got a jump start but my epb was disabled.
thanks! the dealer told me there was no way to turn it off but I don't wanna use the parking brake every time I shift into park

Thank you, I got a new 2024, What drives me crazy is the automatic parking brakes, one less moving part my car doesn't need to do.
Oh my gosh Thank you! God bless.
Thank you Dear
Its working now !
For my corolla, I had to "step on the brake and hold onto the Parking Switch for 3 seconds" before it would disengage.
Good to just reduce wear and tear on parking brake when you don't require it.
That's just it... why is this even a thing? It makes absolutely zero sense.
OMGGGG thank youuuuu
I wish I could do this on a 21 Mazda 3! it's mental!!! EVERY TIME i turn the car off, bloody thing engages!
Thank you so much
Haha sweet. Worked on a 2023 highlander as well.
Thanks man
What a useless feature. I'm not sure how mine was activated, but thank you for showing me how to deactivate it.
Thanks you very much you just save mi day man I appreciate so much
Thank you kind toyotaman

So does it harm my transmission in my 22 corolla when I don't use my parking brake to park? Since it's a CVT?
thanks lot!
Do this with engine on ?
Ty very much 🤍🤍
Would this cause the engine to squeak a bit when shifting in and out of park? Just bought a 22 Corolla
You might be hearing the parking brake does it only squeek when you put it in park
@@Nickthecarguy Shift from and to park.
@@KiDmO365 It’s the parking brake actuator, Toyota uses a electric parking brake on newer models… So that’s what that squeak/whirring noise is.

Mine showing brake unavailable, what should I do
Mine is showing the same now, did you solve it?
Maybe start car
Hold down brake and press down on the emergency brake button
Then let go of brake and then hold down button until it disengages
That noise on the background when u move the gear to part or back to drive, is that normal cos I keep hearing it on my 2022model 🤦🏽♂️
my 2022 highlander warped its rotors from this feature with 14,000 miles ...turn it OFF!
TURN IT OFF IT WILL SAVE YOUR ELECTRONIC BREAK!!! How ever on a hill keep it on!

Do you have an email? I have a question about my Ford fusion I would really love your help it's an easy question!
My automatic feature for the electronic parking break won’t turn off😭😭

What if it comes in then battery dies
