Duuuudeeee when the ending said “there was something at the door” I, in real life looked at the space under my door and a shadow went across it, The timing made me instinctively jump onto my bed and say “NOPE!”
It's endings like these that I love and hate. Love because is unexpected and scary as hell, but I hate them because Amber got torn apart. It was like a punch to the stomach, and that is the best part of the story in a way.

I think the idea is that the "thing" can steal the voices of its victims. Amber said "How does it have my Daddy's voice" which somewhat implies that her father is dead. Likewise on the call, it seems as though Amber is laughing, until it contorts into a evil sound.

I agree with that sentiment, you leave feeling bad for the fate of a character instead of being able to reflect on what a wild ride you just embarked on. For me, it makes it a great story that I only want to hear ONCE...
Well after watching a lot of these scary stoies these bait endings become more and more predictable.
Where its more surprising if it actually has a good ending.
Especially where he described how much time the police had left to get there and the sirens getting closer after the monster 'dissapeared' it totally gave away the ending.
Hey brother, I just want you to know. That your content, your work ethic and dedication to us all is a blessing. In the last 6-7 months, I've been going through a lot of hardships. You an a few other narrators help me ironically sleep at night. My biggest hurdle has been trying to mentally recover from being burned over 20 percent of my body from a work accident, I'm suffering from PTSD, anxiety as well as depression... I can't tell you how much I look forward to your content... One other thing I want to mention besides apologizing for my horrible grammar a punctuation, is that i write slam poetry, an I did run it over one of your tracks but I want you to know your music empowers me when I speak it makes my words have much more of an impact.... All in all thank you for helping me... Just a little, means a lot.

@@SeanRhodenizer that genuinely sucks man I hope your doing good right now and that everything works our for you, during the school time I would listen to his vids because there very calming seriously I get bullied a bit and people can take it to far but I'm really strong so I have to not get mad or I could accidentally hurt some one so I have to not get mad so his voice is very calming and I love a good story.

I don't think any creepypasta I've listened to has broken my heart like this one. It was short but I became so attached to Amber, and I wanted so badly for her to make it. Incredible work Som, aswell as the female voice actress!
So in regards to how most horror stories/creepypastas affect me i generally have a wide reaction range varying from aloof to angry, happy, sad, and sometimes they even send me into fits of laughter. Its mostly a combination of all of the above and more but never in all my years listening to these stories have I genuinely felt scared from one until today! I don't know if it was due to the fact that my daughter sleeps with a pink bunny or what but this one got to me. Thank you so much for your amazing work ethic and all the creativity that you put into each and every story you narrate for us. Your love for this line of work shows and I want you to know that we see and hear that in your content. You sir are nothing short of spectacular!! And you always leave me in awe!

Wow....unusual for one of your short narrations to pack that much terror and emotion, without a longer build up....this was a VERY good story...no description of of the protagonist, just let your mind build it for you. Absolutely amazing. Your work just keeps getting better, which in itself is hard to fathom. Thank you, sir!

@EnterAdman shit when I read this I imagined a mechanical terror an amalgamation of used car parts and factory equipment that good but and move like flesh
That one actually gave me chills about a 3rd of the way in that stayed the rest of the thing. I almost closed the video because it was making feel like I should be looking around my room/behind me.

That part made me cry. When she said that I knew her dad had given it to her. And I knew she had lost her dad. As someone who’s lost their dad something like that hit home. I wanted her to survive more than anything and when she didn’t i felt horrible. This story was really disturbing
As one of the other commenters mentioned, Creeps Mcpastsa did this one last night also...I tried once before to listen to him, but I figured what the hell..let me compare...well...4 minutes later, I'm back. Only when comparing head to head, can you truly appreciate the vast difference in your work. You are amazing. That is all. Thank you

Both Dark Somnium and the co-narrator did great. A 911 operator has to keep a calm voice even while things are going very badly. To capture that calmness while also portraying worry and tension is tough and take a talented narrator.
I suffer from insomnia so I usually stay up most nights and ur one of the main channels I listen to as I draw...let me just say this is the best story yet and inspired me to paint one of my favorite pieces yet

Maaaan, you caught us all with this one!! Two series going, plus features and STILL blowing us away with an incredible project like this!! Man, I am running out of synonyms for STUPENDOUS!!!
To the author, this was EXCELLENT work my man, the organic authenticity absolutely sold us on the premise, really made us feel that we were listening to the candid confessions of an ex-dispatcher!! Nothing felt contrived or forced, all seemed perfectly accurate and plausible!! You had us hooked from start to finish!! Especially the way Amber was written; she was more than just the vessel to get us to the good parts, she was a real, terrified person who ripped our hearts out as we panicked along with the protagonist, wanting desperately to save her in time! I do dislike these kinds of stories because the end result is an empty feeling of sorrow and loss for the character, rather than being able to fondly reflect on the terrifying wild ride we just experienced with her. It's an awesome, engaging story that you never want to experience again, if that makes sense? Still a testament to your creative talent and inspired writing!!
Romnex!!!! WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW. Your performance was absolutely STELLAR!!! I can honestly not believe the way you nailed this role!! The fear and terror not only felt 100% real, but you infected us all with it!! It eminated from every part of your performance and transmitted that dread and fear directly into each of us!! This could have gone horribly wrong in the hands of even a SLIGHTLY less talented performer; under-selling the fear and tension is a hallmark of novice actresses and can absolutely make a great premise into a campy production. But you knocked this one out of the PARK!!! I imagine you must've needed a minute and maybe something 80-proof just to recover from this role!! BRAVO!!!

You have exhibited the perfect cadence and stress levels for someone who is slowly rising above and beyond their established discomfort levels. You sold us on the confusion, the terror, the hope, the despair, the terror....we were all on the edge of our seats!!! You added just enough to immerse us in this world, while Romnex did the heavy lifting on this one, and we felt EVERYTHING your character did. The tone you set through your production: the timing, the rising and falling intensity, the music, the sounds.....ALL of it worked harmoniously together like a well-oiled machine!!! Your channel is a revelation among horror narration and a beacon among artfully indulgent storytelling and it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to praise your work enough!!!! This was MAGNIFICENT!!!! Wow......

This one is definitely hard-hitting that’s for sure. Would love to see an alternate story where this was the catalyst of the dispatcher becoming some sort of supernatural cryptid hunter - starting with hunting this thing first!

*this* is how you do a horror story without showing whatever the big bad is. Just enough detail but not too much.
Brilliant and atmospheric story. As usual, the music and sound effects made the actual narration much more of an experience. The sound effects actually reminded me of the video game 'Condemned' and it's sequel. Those games also focused on the supernatural, monsters, terrifying situations, sixth senses etc.
