So you said you were confused about the scarab bracelet, and I think I have an explanation. First of all, the chalice still requires the blood of the wyvern, it is an item in a ritual. Without it it doesn't function. Secondly, they never say it granted immortality, it granted life and prosperity, which is why it can revive and heal wounds, but can also kill since necrotic magic is the other side of healing magic. Thirdly, Bolthorn wasn't just turned into a revenant. His skin is suffering from necrosis, the type you would see in decomposition of bodies in heat or those who suffer from leprosy. His body is dead, yet his soul and mind is alive. Fourthly, notice how the stranger talks of the bracelet, "not meant for mortals", and in the trailer we can see that the bracelet falls off the hand when the sand Pharaoh dissipates. I believe this implies that only the Pharaohs could benefit from the powers it granted because of some magic tied to their bloodline. But Bolthorn isn't a Pharaoh, he is a thief. I liked your unique take on the story and I think it could have been very interesting. I just thought you would appreciate a different view on how the bracelet works
I'll give Bolthorn this, the moment he realized he fucked up he did is best to fix/mediate his mistakes even if they seemed futile, instead of just doubling down and putting his head in in the sand.
As for my opinion on Bolthorn, I actually really like him. Raider is a character that doesn't need to look fancy or cool to be AWESOME in battle, and from a lore standpoint, I think Bolthorn looking like a raggedy decrepit corpse is a WAY better option than giving him some over-the-top armor.
I agree with the fact that he looks badass as basically a walking corpse. The only thing they just needed to do is give him either a shirt with a piece of cloth over the shoulders or have him wear some kind of egyptian robe to tie him in with the season
@@Kruppuchino I don't know about that. He isn't tied to Egyptian culture at all, he likely wouldn't wear anything like that. He's just a raider from Valkenheim that was cursed with undeath. And I think the fact he wears so little armor shows off the moving tattoos a lot better, and shows off the fact that he needs no armor or protection as he cannot die anyway.
@@That_Damn_Plaid_Ram true but i feel like everyone rates the skin so lowly is because he's a raider with even less "armor" and considering the tiny bit of lore we got with season 2 i feel like it would make sense to give him at least something for over his shoulder as a keepsake that he got from medjay.
I think the reason that the bracelet is unlike the chalice is that the chalice was not well cursed and I think that most likely someone owned the bracelet like a Pharoah but when the Pharoah died somehow he put a curse on it so no other person than him could gain the immortality and cheat death without paying a massive price as we can see examples of this is Egyptian myths with the frog rain which is also in for honor that causes disease and famin
I think it’s be pretty cool if they took all this established lore into a for Honor 2 here’s what I mean: For Honor started off as this historical based fighting game but over the years it’s become something closer to fantasy, so I think they should lean into that. Give us heroes with supernatural abilities and powers which would give them more room to be creative. Use the established pantheons for the roster. The story could be after the cataclysm and endless fighting the gods have descended to claim the land for themselves to remake it in their own image.
My theory is that the Medjay,or whatever his name will be,is the last of his line, having seen his brethren fall from use and misuse of the Scarab Bracelet, hence the warning. I believe he would be spurned into action to function as a sort of Equalizer to rid the curse and bring balance back, not unlike Kyoshin way back when.
Technically the Centurion wouldn't be Varangian; He'd most likely be a descendant of the Roman soldiers and citizens who took control of the ruins of Byzantium centuries before the fall of the Western Roman Empire. (AKA the classic Roman Empire.)
Yeah, Lord Ramiel and Bolthorn are pretty much opposite: Ramiel looks cool, but his story is kind of boring while Bolthorn's story is pretty cool, but he looks boring and looks like you can just create the skin with the customization already available. Also, I'm pretty certain that Bolthorn's story takes place in the current time period of For Honor. I mean, his story connects to the new hero coming soon, so I feel like it would make sense it would take place during the Horkos vs Chimera War. It would be weird if this takes place before the For Honor story mode or at least before the Year of the Harbingers. However, guess we'll see who, why, and how the "Egyptian" guy will fit into the current narrative.
He comes to Heathmoor to save the people, bolthorn doesn't deserve his help but the people do, they shouldn't pay for the mistakes of the both. Its official, ubisoft revealed a small video where the new hero talks. ua-cam.com/video/NrR6YHaUDdg/v-deo.html
I feel like the simple reason why the Scarab brings death and plagues is simply b/c Bolthorn stole it from its rightful place. It reminds me of the Return The Slab episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog when Eustace kept the slab and therefore suffered the curse. If Bolthorn got permission or the Egyptian gods blessing to take the bracelet to save his people, then there may not have been a curse. But that’s boring lol.
To be honest, your complaint about the scarab bracelet's powers seems constructed out of your own ignorance rather than any sort of problem with the story; Not sure if that's the case, but that seems to be your thought process. Pharaoh's Curse? Hello? It's literally said in Bolthorn's story by the stranger that the powers of the bracelet aren't meant for mere mortals whatsoever, which likely means the bracelet comes with a dangerous curse to punish those who don't have the approval of the Egyptian gods for it's usage. What I took this statement to mean is that the bracelet only disables the curse if the wearer has the approval of the ancient Egyptian gods, which could mean that Egyptian remnants after the Cataclysm could possibly use the bracelet with zero curses attached to it, but because Bolthorn doesn't even know what Egypt is, his stealing of the bracelet activated the curse. TLDR: Your complaint seems to be born out of ignorance rather than any objective problems, which I feel hurts your argument. Also, time period for Bolthorn's story is likely present day seeing as the event version of River Fort doesn't show any architectural differences unlike the ancient version of Citadel Gate which has both landscaping and architectural differences including the Wyvern on top of the pillars.
...My own ignorance? Alright, let's see. "Pharaoh's Curse? Hello? It's literally said in Bolthorn's story by the stranger that the powers of the bracelet aren't meant for mere mortals whatsoever, which likely means the bracelet comes with a dangerous curse to punish those who don't have the approval of the Egyptian gods for it's usage." No. What it means is that it's an artifact not meant for mortals. You only ASSUME a curse comes along with it because of that warning. Also, if it's about Egyptian gods approval, why didn't the stranger say that? Why not say "You have to earn the approval of our gods." then Bolthorn could ask how he does that. But no, he didn't mention the gods. He didn't mention approval. He only said 'it's not meant for mortals.' Meaning it's not meant for ANYONE. "What I took this statement to mean is that the bracelet only disables the curse if the wearer has the approval of the ancient Egyptian gods, which could mean that Egyptian remnants after the Cataclysm could possibly use the bracelet with zero curses attached to it," Dude....that's your assertion. It's a guess you have. That doesn't make me ignorant. But even if your guess is correct, that means it's contradictory. The Stranger said it was NOT MEANT for MORTALS. Implying nobody MORTAL should touch it. So your guess flies in the face of the facts we have. " TLDR: Your complaint seems to be born out of ignorance rather than any objective problems," What am I ignorant about? Your whole defense is built on a guess.......a guess that doesn't adhere to the facts we know to be true. Here's the objective problem: The Egyptian said the bracelet granted life and prosperity, but it wasn't meant for mortals. Bolthorn takes the bracelet and it gives him the power to bring himself and others back to life...until the next day, when now EVERYTHING is dying? How am I ignorant for pointing out an inconsistancy? The power of the bracelet seems inconsistent and it doesn't make sense why something that grants life and prosperity for one day, now kills EVERYTHING the next.
13:20 the only proof we have of the Roman or Greek? God is the God horkos. Even then it's kinda sus, but I don't believe a Disney Channel wolf would come out of nowhere and help Astrea without having an established bound.
The only reason it doesn't work all that long for bolthorn is because the stranger said its only destined for those who deserve its power like the Pharoahs
Raven the way you said that bracelet can provide life. But wasn't the scarab bracelet already cursed. Wouldn't that explain why he's turning to undead. Or is there something I'm missing. Because I have a feeling the bracelet is taking lives of others around Bolthorn while keeping him alive. He even asked. What have I unleashed. As if seeing that he messed up and now not only Valkenheim but all suffer. And he must see it.
Well...I mean that's not what was said in the story. And we saw Bolthorn bring Njal back to life, meaning the bracelet doesn't JUST impact him. So...it's inconsistent.

I have a question am I going to be able to buy the hero skin after the event is over like is it a permanent skin or will it be gone next season (if anyone knows)
Hold on, the Egyptian gods are legit because the plagues of Egypt are happening? I think I need an explanation to that statement Raven, you and me both know exactly who did those plagues and he didn't have no bird head. I dont think Ubisoft would be dumb enough to try and give credit of the plagues of Egypt to Egyptian gods. Not because they'd upset Christians either, we both know that disrespecting Christianity is about as "shocking" as announcing that the sun rose this morning. But this action would also directly disrespect the Jewish community, which Ubi would by their own "justice" ideals, probably like to avoid.
he said they might be legit because the egyptian man says that the bracelet wasn’t meant for mortals. If it wasn’t meant for mortals who made it and who was it meant for?
