I just finished it. and oh God, what a sad one.
This is probably one of my most anticipated movies of 2016. I am so excited, I can't wait. I really hope it ends up being amazing. The book is incredible and the illustrations bring it to life (from what we've seen of the tree here in the trailers, it matches the illustrations in the book), I would highly recommend reading it. Patrick Ness is one of my absolute favorite writers, I love everything he does. Eeek! I'm so excited for this movie!

I love the music used in the trailer. It's absolute perfection! I can't stop watching the trailer because of it. It's the perfect combo of sadness and wonder.
The yew tree sounds exactly how I imagined it would when I read the book. Liam Neeson was a perfect choice.

I really hopes this lives up to the book. The tree's voice is pretty good, I just hope he looks like the one in the book; from the trailer, he looks too smooth. I remember him as more jagged and sinister looking.

I literally just finished the book and I'm so happy that it's being made into a movie just so I can sadly relive it all over again.
The book is beautiful and I just hope that this is a worthy adaptation. It looks visually stunning from the footage they have released so far.

No, no, the tree is very much real.... and he does have powers which are not visible to others but the boy, yet they can leave and effect which affects everybody.

The book is amazing, but complicated to turn into a movie. This teaser looks promising though!

if you havent read the book, then you dont know that this movie will probably be amazing. im watching it for sure. I hope they keep the same theme and story as the book and this trailer shows that so its probably gonna be like the book. its going to be a heart touching movie that will bring tears to your eyes.

I was worried that this bad ass looking movie was going to turn out to be The Giving Tree...
its a drama , dont expect action
it's not. If you read the book like I and many other people did you would know that the tree is a monster that comes to the boy every night for three nights and tells him tales. Then on the fourth night, the boy has to speak the truth to the tree about him and his mum. Being since his mum has cancer.

It's going to be some magical dark fairy tale paralleling the kid's real life drama of his mother dying and then dying and at the end you'll be left with the question of "was it all real? or did he just have a crazy psychotic episode/day dream to deal with all these 'adult' emotions/feelings?" which seems to be so popular today BUT that being said it is about the journey and it seems like the film is going to be pretty neat, can't wait to see it.
