I'm having trouble signing up with Thatch. Is there an e-transfer option to purchase guides? I really want to support you and also get your tips for Japan before I arrive there next week.
Thanks so much for this stellar comment! We put so much work into these videos. I know they aren’t going to make it to the “popular” page as they’re just not made for trending, but the fact that this King Kogi community appreciates them is what keeps me happy 😊
for a 1 Woman and 1 Dan production crew, your videos are so high quality and you guys work hard! Your style is great because it's informative and still shows your goofy personality.
I will forever be in love with your style of video editing Martina! The music, the atmosphere, the little quizzes, the transitions... There is so much love and I can't imagine how long it takes to make such high quality videos for us. Awesome video!!
💗 happy to make King Kogi tv 📺 especially for this most excellent community! I know y’all will appreciate my odd little ways, so I’m able to put the effort in.
Honestly never mind the wait for these videos because when they drop they are always well thought out, beautifully recorded, and wonderfully entertaining. ❤
i JUST found this channel and OMG. As a creator dealing with autoimmune health issues my entire life - the amount of bravery, motivation, and just overall VIBES from you are amazing. I can finally travel and going to Japan in two weeks. I hope you are well and ty for such cinematic videos! Seriously these are so well put together!
Welcome to the lovely King Kogi community! Many of us here are dealing with invisible illnesses (and visible) and we all encourage each other to push on while also acknowledging our limits so that we don’t flair ourselves up. Hope your trip to Japan is awesome, and don’t forget to give yourself breaks!
I just want to say THANK YOU Martina for visiting places that are not the typical touristy spots. You frankly fill a void on UA-cam - most Tokyo or Japan video's are the typical spots and I want more of an at-home vibe, and this is it!.
in yokohama, there is a store called surugaya, it is in the sogo building. and it has an insane amount of second hand plushies. every OG pokemon. all the meowths and eevees.. It had all the og pokemon figurines. BUt it also had every storybook character imaginable. hello kitty, miffy, disney etc. i walked my ass off to find this store. i prefer it over new pokemon stuff.
Hai all i will visit japan this month for the first time with my lil sis, pls info is yokohama chinatown is open on breakfast time? And is mitsui yokohama worth it to go?
Martina さん❤I will definitely visit these delicious spots in Yokohama on my next Japan trip!! Thank you for sharing the experience of Japan to your viewers!! ありがとうございます❤♪まちーなさん、マチーナさん好き❤好き❤
Martina, please never never change! No matter how sad or anxious I feel, your videos always give me comfort. I always feel right at home watching you explore Japan. Your video style and editing is just so relaxing.
I’ve been watching you since freshman year of high school, now I’m 24 with a bachelor’s degree!! Thanks for all of the fun food and cultural videos. They’ve helped me expand my worldview and influenced a lot of my interests!!
😮💨 phew! Just so glad it worked! Haha I had mapped it all out, and we took photos to make sure I’d end up in the same spot. Hilariously, for the night shot in front of the Gundam, there was a man fishing exactly where I needed to stand to line it up…we had already done the daytime shot. The whole dock area was free, but he just happened to be there 😂 we had to figure out how to get the same *snap* location without disturbing him.
Your videos always feel like a hug, they're so comforting and easy to watch no matter what mood I'm in. I've been watching since 2009 which is insane to think about lol & I love the evolution of your vids. Your current layout is so good💖 forever sparking joy in your viewer's day. Stay blessed xx
I'm so happy to see Martina still kickin' it, and also I'm quite envious of all the delicious Asian cuisine she gets to enjoy every day. 🥺 Thankfully we do have some nice Sushi and Ramen places not too far from us, but it's in the USA (Minnesota) and won't be exactly the same. Also, the Gundam Art and Flower Festival looked fun! EDIT: Had to comment on the Sake vendor! My Dad loves nerding out on alcohol production techniques and food science (and sometimes I do, too), so thanks for including that bit of conversation with the store owner! ❤
@kingkogi Martina, I built a ladder today, and several others this month. I won’t get into the details here, but I must say you have truly been an inspiration to me. Eat Your Kimchi has supported me through college exams, difficulties in my career and relationship drama. I want to encourage you to keep going, keep thriving, and keep building your ladder 🪜 💕🤗 I hope to visit one day soon 🇯🇵
Had trouble concentrating during the pudding part because of the seventeen tracks playing in the background 😂. Great video as always Martina, perfect accompaniment to my dinner 🥰.
This makes me wish we had more international cuisine around here. Definitely added to my list for when I finally get to Japan. Thank you so much for making your tour videos, Martina
I love the thoughtfulness you put into your guides. Putting trivia around your commercial breaks-or really just working the video around commercials at all-is super smooth. Almost no UA-camrs do this and it's so jarring when commercials randomly appear out of nowhere, usually mid-sentence. Love your day and night shots of the same locations, and the work and time that must go into that. I appreciate your mention of disability access, which I wouldn't mind content creators being a little better about. And yeah, I admire how you power through what must be a lot of work, all that walking, those stairs, you mentioned dislocating your shoulder holding the giant beer...but you make it all look so pleasant, and the final result is really a great sell for Yokohama! =D
My GOD, what a production, photography in the scenes, such extreme perfection in your videos! I can dive in the Yokohama atmosphere thanks to your talent to make a cinematography video. ❤
So happy to see another King Kogi adventure. I’ve been anticipating for another fantastic video and you didn’t disappoint. Thanks and luv it Martina! Thanks to Dan for showing his meals and drinks with us too 👏
Im originally from Yokohama but live in the US now, watching your Yokohama series makes me feel like I’m home, so many familiar places. Thank you and I hope you keep visiting Yokohama!!
I’ve been experiencing social anxiety lately and have been choosing to stay inside and away from people but your content honestly helps me. Seeing you have the courage to go out to sightsee and explore places that make you happy gives me courage too.
Both Yakuza Like A Dragon and Lost Judgement (major videogames) are set in a very lifelike Yokohama. I loved it and am making a day trip of it this autumn. Cool video!
My dad’s side of the family lives in Yokohama. We visited back in 2011. I’m glad the China Town there looks as awesome as ever. It puts every other China town I’ve ever visited to shame. Some of the best Chinese food I’ve eaten. Definitely don’t skip on Yokohama.
Thank you for doing these, Martina! You always look like you're enjoying yourself over there, and you've helped me add some places to my Japan itinerary. 🙌
I’m glad the subtitles are helpful. It usually automatically makes the worst words for Japanese names of things, so I try to go through the whole thing and fix those mistakes.
Martina knows how to bring out the majesty in just about anything she does. My bad day just brightened considerably ❤ Martina, you truly are a treasure.
You are so brilliant, Martina! I’m late, but watching this video has me SO EXCITED to be back in Yokohama in six months!! Ahhh!! 🤩🥳🩷 A really agree with the positivity in regard to Yokohama! For anyone who never has considered it, Yokohama is absolutely amazing! And if you’re going to Tokyo, it’s so easy add a stay in to your trip! It’s so close to Haneda airport and so close to Tokyo. My husband and I usually do 2 or 3 nights in Yokohama before going to Tokyo, and we use that time to acclimate to the new time zone in a place that’s less crowded but has all the cool stuff of a major big Japanese city. It’s definitely less crowded than Osaka and Tokyo, and luxury hotels are cheaper too! It’s such a fun city! We have such fond memories there 🩷 2am walks to get ramen on warm summer nights with the breeze blowing in off the water. Absolutely delightful 🥹💕
I'm sorry this is so random and unrelated to everything going on; you're just so beautiful! The light shining from within you, especially when you are in your element like this is so wonderful to see! Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgina Martina ✨
The parts about flow hit hard for me! Especially as a US Midwesterner raised Protestant who married a Northeastern US guy raised Catholic, it was quite a shock to us meeting each other's families for the first time!
Thank you so much for posting, you are a gift! Studying right now and i'm having a marathon of your videos because your voice is so soothing and with concentration for my ADHD brain. Have a blessed day! - Muna, a London Ontario Fan
Martina, Martina, MARTINA!!! I bow down to you, you pink traveling goddess!! But seriously tho, enjoyed the entire video! Japan is in my bucket list to visit..idk when but i will always appreciate having these videos when I do! Thank You!
I'm glad that despite everything you've been through and continue to go through, that you can still visit amazing places like these and enjoy life. You inspire me to keep trying even when it feels like I can't anymore. So thank you. My ladder exists in part because of your ladder. 💖
I love raw egg as well, I eat it here in Atlanta, Georgia, and I have never had any issue with it, never got sick or anything. I love it with hot, sticky rice, I just drop the whole egg in, mix it up with the rice and eat it with natto and a side of kimchi 😊
Okay, you didn't screw up the egg yolk thing. it was already broken when you lifted it up. you can see it @ 2:09 that the yolk is already busted when you lift the chiken.
Yes!!! I learned about it after visiting Rol San, my fav DimSum spot in Toronto. I asked a waitress what SHE loves and she recommended pea sprouts and I’ve been obsessed ever since!
4:45 in to the video! So, happy! Just thinking yesterday, I wish Martina would post. A nice escape from worrying about how I am going to sell all my stuff and move back to stay with friends in the Eastern USA. It has been a week, so glad to start Monday with your video. 😊 reason for move, save money and start a business where I don’t have to see patients even though I love them. I so want to travel back to Japan 🇯🇵 ❤
I just want to emphasize the production value of this channel. I seriously appreciate the work and care that go into these videos, while still maintaining that sweet charm and character that Martina brings to the table. I’ve been watching EYK for years now and I just want to say it is so satisfying to see that videos like these are still being created with a genuine feeling of joy despite the changes that Martina and EYK have gone through. Martina, I think you’re awesome. I seriously love your channel and everything your doing after everything that’s happened. You’re doing some amazing things. I hope you see just how well you’re reaching old viewers like me as well as new ones. Keep it up girl. ❤
Thanks so much Juliette 😭 it wasn’t an easy path, and I still struggle at times, but I’m determined to keep doing what I love for as long as I can. I appreciate that you enjoy these videos 🙇🏼♀️
I've just discovered your channel and I am OBSESSED 💕 You are 100% my vibe and I love how you do Japan. Any chance you like craft? Feel free to review craft stores 😂 ❤🎉
I do love to craft haha I’m more of a craft jumper, you know the kind, did knitting for a year, then suddenly into watercolour, then suddenly into jewelry making, then clay… if you dig back into my videos, check out one of my first King Kogi Quests “Picnic in Yokohama” and I briefly pop into a fav craft spot to pick up supplies to paint 🎨 it’s just a wee moment. Oh! And I also do a stationary product review! Welcome to the King Kogi community, hope to see you in the comment section again 💗
@KingKogi I absolutely get that! That was me before I really hit my stride with knitting. I spent a lot of time, and money, in yarn stores in Japan earlier this year. We decided exploring Japan for us meant finding and experiencing all the craft classes we could possibly find. I love people who find their own nerdy way to do Japan. There is a super cool yuzen dying class I did in Kyoto that I can't recommend enough! 💕
This was such a wonderfully nostalgic video! Been watching you since I was in high school and now I’m here watching your videos as an old lady with my own child! Hope you had an amazing time! Also just love seeing you with your same old Martina personality and humour.
I LOVE yokohama! 😅 Kinda wish I had a little more courage with my broken Japanese to fully experience the city. Hopefully I can go back with my friend and visit these places.
Don’t be too discouraged with your level of Japanese! When I arrived in Japan, I didn’t speak ANY Japanese, couldn’t read anything. I went for a “point” and order method, and just enjoyed whatever came out. And never underestimate the power of using the phrase “what do you recommend” to the server! “O-su-sumae-wa” gets you the daily specials and their best sellers.
I was having such a bad day of not feeling like myself and really stressed. I take my coffee break, open up youtube and this pops up and immediately my day is better. Enjoy the small things that bring you this much joy. Thank you Martina
I love u and ur videos they make me so happy even when I feel terrible, I hope you’re doing well, u deserve the world, thank you for your beautiful videos ❤️
I love the videos! And appreciate your work and have for years. The hardest part of watching is convincing my hubby to drive around in our small Michigan town looking for ingredients. Thank the lord for Amazon.
Welcome back! Have so much fun, and I hope you visit some of the spots and get your explore on. Also, I have a free Yokohama digital guide (it works like a google map guide, but with comments and links I've left) , so if you check the infobox you can use that during your trip!
Me gusta mucho como describes los lugares en tus videos. Me llena de emoción, porque hago mis viajes, nuevamente, por ese fascinante país, que escogió mi hijo, para estudiar.
I love how you feature areas that aren't just Tokyo, and I love how this video feels like I'm being taken around by an old friend, catching up and learning about Yokohama at the same time. Love your content so much, Martina.
Just wanted to say that I loved this video! I'll be visiting Japan with a few friends in a couple of months. We've seen a lot of the other parts of Tokyo but not so much of Yokohama. We're hoping to fix that and your videos have provided some great inspiration! And was that a King Kogi tie dye shirt? I'll have to check out your merch!
Yokohama is it’s own special little place, and really easy to get to from Tokyo. If you’re planning on traveling to Osaka or Kyoto, Shin-Yokohama station is a closer and less insane Shinkansen station too! Glad this video helped out with planning, check the infobox for the link to my free digital map to Yokohama too, and yes, that is a King Kogi tie dye shirt 👕 embroidered and boxy street wear style!
I've added all these locations to my FREE Yokohama digital travel guide, so please save it to visit these spots! www.thatch.co/@kingkogi
I'm having trouble signing up with Thatch. Is there an e-transfer option to purchase guides? I really want to support you and also get your tips for Japan before I arrive there next week.
There’s just no channel like this on UA-cam. The amount of effort in every video is so evident and it’s a privilege to watch them ❤
Thanks so much for this stellar comment! We put so much work into these videos. I know they aren’t going to make it to the “popular” page as they’re just not made for trending, but the fact that this King Kogi community appreciates them is what keeps me happy 😊
100% agree ❤
10000% this!
I completely agree!!! ❤
OK I'll subscribe because of your recommendation, sight unseen 😊
I love martina's eye for cinematography, from day 1 of watching her channel I was just in awe of how many beautiful shots she can get in one video!
for a 1 Woman and 1 Dan production crew, your videos are so high quality and you guys work hard! Your style is great because it's informative and still shows your goofy personality.
Pretty sure they're dating now.
@@cmmiestcatcan someone confirm? I always thought they had great chemistry and I would be so happy if this was true ❤❤❤
If they are, and I’m trying my best not to speculate, I hope they wouldn’t feel the need to say so unless it’s what’s they explicitly wanted to do.
@@katel4893it's none of yalls business, God damn I don't know how anyone does UA-cam videos bc people are psycho and nosy as fuck

If there's an auntie or a grandma gossiping in Cantonese in the background. You KNOW you walked into an authentic Hong Kong Restaurant lelel XD
There was an elder auntie drinking and I was like, “this is the place we need to eat” and they gave us service boiled peanuts afterwards 😊
This is how you can tell who actually did most of the work in her other channel this video is amazing
I will forever be in love with your style of video editing Martina! The music, the atmosphere, the little quizzes, the transitions... There is so much love and I can't imagine how long it takes to make such high quality videos for us. Awesome video!!

The yolk was already broken when you picked up the chicken so don't feel bad! ❤
The nama pudding cafe obnoxiously blasting KPop in Martina’s presence seems right in my fantasy.

I LOVE this style of video again! Reminds me of all the years I’ve watched your videos Martina!
Martina I'm late to the party in finding this channel but im so glaaaaad I did! I've missed your vibes!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Glad you’ve found me again! Welcome to the King Kogi community, you’ve got a lot of catching up to do!
I am so happy to see you and dan roaming japan :) your editing and vibes in your videos are always stellar 💜💜💜💜💜💜
This was such a wonderfully nostalgic video! Been watching you since I was in high school and now I’m here watching your videos as an old lady with my own child! Hope you had an amazing time! Also just love seeing you with your same old Martina personality and humour.
This video was lovely Martina ❤ watching it was a great way to start my morning. That pudding looked soooooo good 🤤
Thank you
This is perfect! 33 days until I flay back to Japan for the first time since 2019 and Yokohama is on my list, as have never been to it before.
Thank you for the video, Martina :). I've been saving it for the right moment!
Glad I could help, even if just a wee bit.
Omg all the things you ordered at that yakitori shop at the end looked amaaaaazing, and that drink looked delightful and very refreshing
I love u and ur videos they make me so happy even when I feel terrible, I hope you’re doing well, u deserve the world, thank you for your beautiful videos ❤️
That first stop really likes Seventeen LOL 💎
I love the videos! And appreciate your work and have for years. The hardest part of watching is convincing my hubby to drive around in our small Michigan town looking for ingredients. Thank the lord for Amazon.
I'm back in Tokyo in 3 weeks time after almost 8 years, thank you for your recommendations.
Welcome back! Have so much fun, and I hope you visit some of the spots and get your explore on. Also, I have a free Yokohama digital guide (it works like a google map guide, but with comments and links I've left) , so if you check the infobox you can use that during your trip!
@@KingKogi will do! Domo arigato gozaimasu 😄
So great to see your food tour videos Martina. The dim sum looks quite legit.
I’m Planning my Japan trip for next year! Can’t wait. Thank you martina! Looking good Girl! Keep it up.
Another great video, Martina! Love your honesty and humility mixed with humor -- never over-the- top. ☺
Hey, I got the same strawberry milk carton bag. Small world
So weird! 😉💗
Just discovered your channel and I’m loving it. Yokohama is one of my favorite places to visit- even after 20 years!
Welcome to the King Kogi community! Glad you found the channel, hope you enjoy the other videos too 🙇🏼♀️
Yokohama is one of my favorite cities in Japan but there is so much I need to discover. Loved this video Martina.
Me gusta mucho como describes los lugares en tus videos. Me llena de emoción, porque hago mis viajes, nuevamente, por ese fascinante país, que escogió mi hijo, para estudiar.
Thanks for giving us a trip around Yokohama, planning a trip next May and I'm planning to skip Tokyo entirely and stay in Yokohama for a few days.
I forgot about this channel for a bit. I missed you and your content ❤️
Welcome back! You have a few videos to catch up on 🍿
@@KingKogi lol I'm so ready to catch up
The former Minnesota resident in me is blown away that juicy lucy burgers are in Japan. So cool!
